Situated in a peaceful hamlet yet secluded and private, it is fully detached, its spacious ground floor accommodation (112m2) sleeps 6 and it is equipped for baby.. Its thick walls, double glazed windows/shutters and a good insulation guarantee your comfort during hot days, no need for air conditioning, ecologically sound!..

ACCOMMODATION :
-LIVING ROOM : Very spacious, 43m2, with superb flagstones, a gothic fireplace and a wood burning stove, exposed beams, comfortable seating. This large space has allowed us to install a four poster bed, this is probably where the lady of the manor used to sleep!..

KITCHEN/DININ ROOM : 29m2, Flagstones, exposed beams, an ancient stone sink with its stone arch but it is newly and fully equipped, antique HenriII buffet, table and chairs.

UTILITY ROOM : Washing machine, hoover, clothes-rack, cupboards, cleaning utensils etc..

SHOWER ROOM : Shower, washbasin, toilet, cupboard.

BEDROOM 1 : 15m2, two single beds.

BEDROOM 2 : 16m2, One double bed and a cot (baby bath and high chair also provided).

THE GARDEN : We are keen gardeners and have re-designed the garden to suit the house's ancient character with a 16th C style herb garden, 2 wooden pergolas covered by ancient vines sheltering a picnic table and a bench. Enjoy the scent of lilly of the valley, lilac, old roses, lavender and eucalyptus!. The garden is very sheltered and enclosed enjoy the pool in total privacy..

-LA ROCHELLE/ILE DE RE : Its superb heritage, numerous good restaurants and great ambiance and the trendy Ile de Ré with its lovely sandy beaches, not to be missed..

-THE VENISE VERTE : Where you can row or be rowed along peaceful canal ways.

-MELLE : A nearby, lovely town featuring 3 beautiful Romanesque churches, one of which is Unesco listed and a very ancient silver mine you can visit and its Carolingian garden.

-BOUGON : An impressive Neolithic site featuring amazing tumuli going back to 4000 BC.

-SANXAY : A rare Gallo/Roman site and ROM, a local, former Roman town.

-LEZAY : Our local town which hosts one of the largest markets around, colourful and typically French. Around this town, you will also find many, untouched medieval villages and some good restaurants, everything you need to spend a good holiday!
