Description of the Mendocino vacation cottage rental
Ravenswood Cottage (formerly known as Fernwood Cottage) is a charming guest cottage set in a redwood meadow one mile from the Pacific, where you can rest and unwind in a serene and private setting. Do nothing or explore the magnificent Mendocino coast. Located 6 miles north of Fort Bragg — home of the Skunk train — and 15 miles north of Mendocino Village, an historic art colony with fine restaurants and art galleries. Two miles to MacKerricher State Park with its easy headlands walking trails, horseback riding, and other gorgeous Pacific beaches to walk and play on. Sleep to the sounds of silence, or occasionally, to the sound of the surf. Enjoy views of our huge redwood trees and gardens.
Our cottage makes a perfect artist or sabbatical retreat and can be made available monthly for a negotiated price that includes utilities and firewood, cable tv and WiFi.
Fully equipped kitchen, double bed plus single couch and single futon. DVD, CD and VCR player. Original art and lots of good books. Fireplace (and oil heating, if needed). Sleeps 1-3 people. We provide the makings of a simple breakfast: coffee, tea, bread, butter, and jam.
October— May, 2 night minimum, $110 per night, $300 for three nights. Weekly $600. Also available monthly at reasonable prices depending on season.

Small pets permitted but with cleaning deposit required.

Every season is delightful here. Many of our guests come in summer to cool off from hotter areas. (80 degrees F is a heat wave here).
Even deep winter with its rainstorms offers sunny days perfect for hunting mushrooms and walking along the ocean (MacKerricher State park is only 2 miles away). There is fishing and whale watching at Noyo harbor, our world class Botanical gardens, and Mendocino village (15 miles south) offers fine dining and galleries. Specialty Festivals happen all year long: Mushrooms, Crab, Wine, Music, Art in the Gardens are just a few. We are located 6 miles north of Fort Bragg, where you can find shopping and most services.
