Pristine whitewater close. Raft the Clark-Fork Alberton Gorge or Laughsa Rivers. Drift fish the Bitterroot or Blackfoot Rivers. Just a 2 hour drive from the Madison River. Put on the waders and test your skills in the many creeks teaming with trout including Lolo Creek just 1/2 mile away.
Hunt elk and deer. In one day we saw 2 moose, elk, many deer, an osprey with a trout in its tallons, a golden eage, and 2 river otters.

The Lolo wilderness is the largest wilderness in North America. See it from the yard.
