Description of the Monmouth vacation chalet rental

This vacation property is managed by On the Water in Maine Inc - Vacation Rental Properties. We call is the "Maple Island Lodge" and it is located on 11 mile long Cobbossee Lake in Kennebec County Maine - just southwest of the Maine State Capital Augusta and convienently close to I-95.
This is the ideal modern Maine cabin L.L. Bean style furnished with 4 bedrooms - 1 1/2 baths, laundry, full kitchen, Internet, DirecTV, and all linens, furnishings, ware, and items necessary for a relaxing vacation available.
There is a "Bunkhouse" (4th bedroom) located 30 feet from the main house on this private 1/2 acre point of an island in Cobbosseecontee Lake that is accessible via a private road over a causeway.
The bedrooms include a large Queen Suite upstairs with a 1/2 bath (toilet & sink), and a queen bedroom and two twin bunk beds (sleeps 4) in a third bedroom downstairs. There is a couch that turns into a full bed in the living room area as well as a queen bed in the "bunkhouse". The "bunkhouse" is a nice retreat for a couple wishing privacy from the "crowd" in the main house and has been quite popular in the past at our other properties.
On the waterfront, there is a new large dock great for tieing up your fishing boat - or one of our rental boats.
The property has an expansive waterfront access with incredible views to the west promising full sun all afternoon as well as spectacular sunsets. There is also a large fire pit at the water's edge where many evenings can be enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the fire.
This is a great property for the wild life lover. While swimming is possible at this property, some grass near the dock boasts an atmosphere more for the fisherman than the swimmer. Many past renters head out into the lake to swim.
Lots of birds and water mammals pass by the property every hour.

2 kayaks are included with the rental of the property. A new fishing boat with 15hp is at the property available for rent at $500 a week as well.

The property is 5 miles west of Interstate 95 and near the world famous Monmouth Shakespearian Theater. While in a quite rural location, the property is less than 20 minutes from the State Capital, Augusta. In Augusta, you have access to major restaurants, shopping centers, and movie theaters.

This house is not as big as the photos make it look. The waterfront is just for boating, no way can you go in the water. Way too mucky and weedy. Fishing was good not great. All the amenities were good. Everything worked and a good time was had by all. I would recommend this property.
