Description of the Monterey Bay vacation home rental

This newly renovated country farmhouse was originally built in 1907 on a park 1/2 mile from Del Monte Beach. A large yard with nice landscaping has a circle driveway with turf block and pavers providing lots of off street parking. This home is nicely furnished. It has a big entry dining room with a wood burning stove, a large kitchen with an island, a family room with a desk and TV which doubles as a bedroom with a queen sleep sofa and a sliding glass door opening out to the big patio for outdoor cooking and dining, a nice living room with a queen sleep sofa, hardwood floors on first floor, large bathroom with a shower over tub, a separate laundry room, the master bedroom downstairs has a king bed, upstairs bedroom with a king and a twin, and the third bedroom has a queen. A new bath with a shower. Cable TV, DVD/VCR, internet connection, local telephone are all provided. This is a very comfortable and spacious home. Fully furnished with all dishes, pots & pans, staples, linens, BBQ and plenty tables and chairs for outdoor entertaining. Come play in the Monterey Bay.

This charming home is located on a nice grassy oval park with a fenced sandy play area (no equipment) at one end and some great restaurants and a chocolate factory at the other end. You are only 1/2 mile from the ocean at Del Monte Beach. The Recreation Trail is 1/4 mile and great for biking, walking, skating, jogging and stretches for 15 plus miles along the shore. It is approx. 2 miles to the Fishermen's Wharf and about 3 miles to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. There are several world class golf courses nearby. The Laguna Seca race track is 10 minutes away. This is a very convenient location with easy access to Hwy 1. Explore the Monterey Bay area including historical Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Pebble Beach,Big Sur and Santa Cruz.

There is live music on Sundays during the summer in the park by a lake and picnic area 2 blocks away. Roberts Lake is close by for remote controlled boats. Lake Estero and Dennis the Menace park are 2 miles away with paddle boats, a train and lots of activities for children. The beach is 1/2 mile and the Recreation Trail is 1/4 mile. Great restaurants within walking distance.

Over all the stay was nice. I will give a couple of fair observations. 1. The kitchen needs to be updated with new appliances (i.e. Coffee Pot, Utensils, maybe one sharp knife would be nice). 2. Fix your plumbing, although we did not have any problems, water pressure is terrible, and no reason you should not be able to flush toiletries down the toilet. 3. Update your washer and dryer. I will say great location, and plenty of room for all. Thanks for a good time

 

 Relaxing Stay, June 25, 2008

The house was adorable, homey and very comfortable. However, the advertisement for the house should be updated. For those of us with children - it seemed ideal. However, there is no park across the street anymore and the round about driveway is no longer either. Little things that would make it more fun for a child. The vcr / dvd wasn't hooked up, the fire alarms went off every time we cooked, there is no cable tv like advertised. Things that don't make or break your visit but help you decide where to stay. All in all - we enjoyed ourselves.

This is a really neat old farmhouse that has been tastefully remodeled without losing its Old Charm. Lots of space inside and outside for a large group of people. Convenient to great restaurants, shopping and close to the beach. Great for families as there is a fenced playground in the park across the street. Nice sunny location. It is exceptionally clean and well maintained.
