My boyfriend, dog and I absolutely loved Le Gite! The house itself is an airy, light-filled home with modern decor that was minimalist but had tremendous warmth. Our room was large and decorated with original artwork, and we felt right at home there. Diane Bouchard, owner and hostess extraordinaire, was a delight. She was very friendly and accommodating, giving us walking directions and chatting with us over breakfast. The breakfasts were superb, by the way.....varied, healthy and delicious. The location of Le Gite is perfect - within walking distance of parks and neighborhoods with bistros, bars, cafes, etc., and a brief 15 minute walk to the downtown area, Mont Royal, Parc la Fontaine and other fun areas of interest. I took a large handful of business cards to give to friends and family, because I think that Le Gite is the perfect place to stay on a Montreal vacation! We can't wait to go back.

I'm so glad we found Le Gite. It's in a great area of Montreal, not far from McGill, one block away from a beautiful outdoor plaza, and three blocks from a nice park. And food all around. As for Le Gite itself, the place was beautiful, with original art, much of it created by her son, hanging on all the walls. I loved Diane. Open and friendly. And breakfast was yummy. This was a perfect little place to stay, at a good price, and I expect we will be back.

Tres chere Diane, merci enormement de m'avoir accueilli aussi chaleureusement pendant ces quelques mois. Je ne pensais pas en arrivant a Montreal, pouvoir trouver un endroit ou je puisse me sentir si facilement chez moi, mais j'ai eu de la chance. Grace a toi et a ta famille et tes amis, j'associerai toujours Montreal a de tres bons souvenirs, de soirees shushi, de leçons de blues, a Mariko, de chocolats au cognac, de jam avec Daniel.
J'ai un pincement au coeur de quitter ma chambre, mais bon.
