LAKEFRONT COTTAGE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA
|Per week:||$375 - $450|
|Per month:||$1,300 - $1,500|
Enjoy quiet, peaceful days overlooking the lake. Bring your boat, launch it from our ramp and keep it under our covered boat slips for guests. Or, borrow a canoe or rowboat or ask for a ride on our pontoon boat to explore the lake's amazing bird population and wildlife. There is world class bicycling in the hills betweeen Montverde and Clermont and trails for hiking and cycling. Golfers come from all over the world to play the numerous nearby golf courses.
The cottage is very clean and charmingly decorated. It comes with fresh linens and has new dishes and pans in its full kitchen. We just finished a marvelous upgrade to this cottage including central HVAC, a new open floorplan with a cathedral ceiling in the living area, elegant tile floors with area rugs throughout. The bathroom was completely remodeled with a new tile shower and fixtures. The bedroom area has a new queen sized bed and mattress set. The living area has a pull out sofa bed (small double) and two recliners. The front concrete patio overlooks Florida's 4th largest lake which was recently recognized as the best lake for bird watching in all Florida. Laundry facilities are on site.
No maid service. Free WiFi and Direct TV.
However, the Montverde/Clermont/Winter Garden area, which is just 30 minutes west of Orlando, is particularly unique for its history and beauty. If you want to experience a different Florida - the old Florida with moss covered trees and hundreds of lakes amid the rolling hills - then come to Montverde to relax and renew.
Montverde is home to "The Montverde Academy" an international preperatory school with its picturesque campus. You can walk to the town library, tennis courts, playgrounds and post office or drive five country miles to shopping areas with restaurants and entertainment.
This is a perfect location for "snowbirds" looking for a month or more away from the snowy north or an inexpensive alternative for a family visiting Cental Florida's theme parks. We are just a day trip away from the beaches on either coast.

This cottage has everything you need when staying for an extended period. The owners are so accommodating and there if you need them. They do the extra to ensure you have a great experience. The view of the lake (including the alligators) with the variety of birds is a great way to spend an evening. The nearby bike trails are an excellent way to visit the town of Winter Garden and other locales. You experience an older part of Florida with the live oaks, rambling roads and not the hustle and bustle of other regions. Would highly recommend spending time at this lakefront cottage in Montverde.

Quiet and close to nature.

My wife and I stayed in the Tan Cottage the month of January 2012. We found it comfortable and well equiped with everything we needed for our stay. Close enough to the attractions but far from the hustle and noise of the traffic. A little more than an hour from the beachs. (Beaches on the Gulf or the beaches of the Atlantic) Many places to shop and eat close by. The owners are friendly and accomodating to the needs of their guests. Bring your boat for fishing on the lake and your binoculars for spotting birds and alligators, or ask for a ride in the pontoon to the fishing hole at the springs. We plan on going back for another month or maybe 2 months. If you like piece and quiet and friendly people, this is the place for you. JC & Cathy

Spent 2 weeks loved every minute of it. Especially the boat ride around the lake.Already re-booked for next year.Highly recommended.
We stayed at the Tan Cottage last March and it was just what we wanted - beautiful lake, quiet, safe, clean and so friendly. We are a retired couple from Rochester, New York and needed to get away from the cold and grey. We used it as a central spot to visit friends and see the sights. Absolutely perfect. About:My husband, Bill, and I recently retired. We are in our late 60's and trying to relax a little more. The old fish camp with its quaint cottages and old marina is a labor of love for us. (Bill says it is more labor and less love.) The fish camp was owned by my parents but after their passing we wanted...
