Description of the Morganton vacation cabin rental

Stoney River Cabin is a private vacation rental retreat located in a small residential community near Lake James within the Pisgah National Forest. We are at the end of the Linville Gorge, just before the Linville River enters Lake James. This cozy stone cabin we recently restored and updated to meet modern needs. We are just 2 miles by road to a public/boat access on Lake James and a 1/2 mile by river to the lake via your own kayak. The Linville River is just behind the house where you are welcome to swim, fish, canoe and kayak.

Stoney river cabin is a great vacation rental for couples or small families who love the outdoors and are looking for a convenient get-away.

The cabin is fully furnished with hardwood floors, a living room with a wood burning fireplace, two bedrooms, a den with satellite TV, a DVD and CD player, one full bath (shower, no tub), screened side porch area, and a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and coffee maker.

The cabin can sleep up to 6 people with a full sized bed in each bedroom and a full sized futon in the den. There is a campfire circle just outside.

The cabin is on the Pisgah Loop Scenic Byway, close to Shortoff, Hawksbill and Table Rock mountains, Linville Falls, the Linville Gorge. If you are looking for city life, we are an easy 1 hour drive to Asheville. We are 45 minutes to the ski slopes in the winter. The City of Morganton is a 10 minute drive with grocery stores, video rentals, convenience shopping, off road bike paths along beautiful greenways and a thriving small downtown with a free festival every Friday night in the summers and lovely restaurants year round.
