Fly Fishing Paradise
Fly fishers will find that this is "THE" place to fish. No need to pack up your gear everyday and travel around the area in search of healthy trout. Set your rod up once, hang it on the rod holders on the deck along with your waders and you are ready to fish whenever you desire.
Non-fishers can sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful view of the river, swim in the frigid crystal clear river or just lay on the gravel river bank "Ozark Beach" and read a book while the little ones search for the perfect skipping rock or hunt crawdads.
In the evening make a campfire and toast marshmellows, challenge your family and friends to one of the many games provided or simply light a fire and watch a DVD or satellite TV.
Whatever you decide to do, we guarantee you'll have a wonderful time.
This cabin was built as our weekend home and that is exactly the feeling you will get when you are here. All the comforts of home are provided.

We had a very nice time at the Maler's home. Everything you could possibly need was there and the home was lovely. Very comfortable. Beautiful White River view. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you!

We have been coming to this house to get away for a number of years now. It is perfect, wonderful trout fishing just out your door. It is nice and quiet, isolated from the just about everything. You go through a locked gate to a really wonderful 3 bedroom 2 bath house, that is fully equipped and very comfortable. If they are running water, the northfork is just 15 to 20 minutes away, which is another great trout tail water. I just don’t think you can find a better place to get away from everything and do some trout fishing. You are a little isolated, but for us that is the joy of the place. Highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to escape for a few days, to enjoy a great trout fishery, and rest in a comfortable house.
Wonderful. Vacation Home! Great Trout Fishing!

I searched online to find a vacation home rental where my husband and I could both enjoy ourselves. This place looked great, but having rented before, you never know until you arrive. Well don't worry, this home was wonderful. The house has three beautifully appointed bedrooms, two baths and a fully appointed kitchen with anything you could need. The house is beautifully situated on the water with a deck that has an automatic sun shade that you control for comfort. The house is air conditioned and has everything you would have in your own home. I loved having coffee and breakfast at the indoor dining table surrounded by windows. There is even a bird feeder so wild life viewing was incredible. We saw Eagles, otter, deer, rabbits, etc. Now to the important part for my husband, the fishing. He is a fly fisherman. The fishing is excellent and the water below the cabin was very wadeable. He was very, very satisfied. We would definitely return. The owners communication was excellent and they did everything to see our needs were met. What a wonderful place to bird watch, kick back, relax, fish, or whatever. There is limited cell phone reception, but high speed internet and texting was fine. After all, you are there to get away so enjoy! There is a home based phone you can use for emergencies, but will need to cover any phone costs, but it is good to have for emergencies or local calls for generation schedules, etc. thank you Tracie for everything!
Lynne - Thanks so much or the glowing review.
We are so glad that you enjoyed yourselves and your review made me miss our cabin even more. Now that we live full time in Florida we are not able to visit our cabin like we were able to when we lived in Memphis but are so grateful for renters such as yourself who love it as much as we do. It's a truly special place.
By the way-next time you visit keep in mind that we do have unlimited long distance on our phone line for calls within the contl. US

This was the perfect place to get away from it all. The cabin is super nice- every amenity one could possibly need. I loved the deck which is looking out on the river! Sitting there watching all the birds coming to the feeders, the people passing by in the river, and the deer was how I spent a lot of my time. High speed internet and 2 televisions kept me connected to the "real world". We could not get any cell service on our phones and that took some getting use to but in the end we got over it!

Our Stay at Fly Fishing Paradise
October 27, 2011
We arrived after dark and didn't realize what a wonderful place we were in until we woke up the next morning to a light freeze with frost on the ground and steam rising off the White River. The location is secluded and makes one feel that he is in his own little world. Following the light freeze, leaves on the maple trees began tunning beautiful colors and had changed almost completely by the end of our four day stay. My sister-in-law enjoyed fishing in the river while the rest of us played games or simply chilled out. There are interesting places to visit within one to two hour drives including Bull Shoals area where we took a wonderful hike through the woods near the lake and the Ozark Folk Center which is a very memorable experience. I would highly recommend Fly Fishing Paradise to anyone looking for a great place to go and relax and experience the beauty of Arkansa.

Home away from home

What a lovely place to spend your family vacation. Plenty of things to do in the area to keep everyone active. We saw a family of deer and other wildlife. Family able to fish right off the bank and even caught enough to have a fish fry! yum! The water levels were low but we were able to spend time floating on the Buffalo River and swimming/cliff jumping at Norfork Lake. Wonderful family vacation spot with all the ammenities of home. Truly a home away from home. Will highly recommend to others!!!

Perfect Getaway Spot

Our family completely loved this cabin. It is very secluded and right on the White River. We walked right down and fished every day and caught many, many rainbow trout and a few brown trout. Loved that the kitchen is completely stocked and the house is very comfy! We will be returning!

Peaceful and pretty!
March 19, 2011
We loved our stay, the Ozarks provided some of the best scenery! The grandparents met us from GA, we came from TX for a total of 6. The cabin fit everyone perfectly with plenty of room to spare. We ate breakfast each morning with a beautiful view of the river, made smores by the fire at night and explored fishing opportunities during the day. The kids really enjoyed the suggested fish hatchery and we watched other young fishers do some fly fishing (don't see that where we live). It was a learning experience they will never forget! The weather didn't hold up the first few days, but that was okay because the kids took advantage of all the great games to play inside and we entertained ourselves with conversation, cooking, reading (extensive library) and watching DVDs. On the way home we stopped to see the Blanchard Springs Caverns which was a great experience. Truly relaxing and we would love to come back.
Wonderful fishing vacation!
August 27, 2010
We had a great vacation relaxing on the river...fishing, swimming, boating and floating! Caught plenty of rainbow trout. Really wonderful location on the river with great fishing spots...secluded and quiet. We saw otter, beaver, mink, deer, eagles and geese. The owners are gracious hosts with so many thoughtful things provided for their guests. We will be back...

We had a great time enjoying our peaceful surroundings. Our accomodations were just perfect for our getaway! The extra benefits of seeing deer, groundhogs, rabbit, and numerous birds were a bonus on this peacful river setting.

Just returned from a week of relaxation on the White River. Each day we caught trout, relaxed in the sun, watched the deer graze on pears, and let life slow down. Great family vacation spot! Kids loved the river's cool water, and I loved catching trout! Wife loved sitting on the porch watching us all have fun, while reading her book!

No fishing in Paradise
April 10, 2009
This is a really great fishing cabin. Trouble is they had 8 generators going 24/7 the weekend we were there - so no fishing. It's worth going back to though - we will try again! They have a good internet connection so at least we got some work done.
White River Quiet and Nice
March 17, 2009
Great place to stay. Plenty of space and all of the amenities of home. The weather was a little chilly, but with the wood burning fireplace inside and the fire bowl out on the deck, we did not seem to mind it to much. Alot of birds to watch and oh yeah, the fishing was good. Great location, remote and quiet, but close to all the good fishing spots.

> Hello Tracie, > > Just wanted to let you know that Jerry and I really had a great time over the weekend at your house. The house was sooo great and the whole area was soooo peaceful. It was absolutely beautiful and serene. The only thing we did was FISH. It was alot of fun. I enjoyed fly fishing and I caught 4 fish, my husband caught many more. I could not believe how far in the water I was and we took alot of great pictures. My husband also enjoyed the extensive library you have on fly fishing, everything we needed to know was right there at our finger tips. > Thanks so much for the use of your house and your spot in the river!!!! We would love to return someday soon!!!!!
Peace & Quiet
November 5, 2007
My husband and I enjoyed this place as well as any we have visited, and it's so close to home. We have traveled far and wide to beautiful places, but there is somthing special about the South that you don't get everywhere else. Folks are friendly and everything is so convenient, even though you are 'away from it all'. The leaves changing were spectacular, but nothing compares to sitting on the deck and watching the river flow. The Maler's thought of every little thing, and because they actually live there sometimes, it feels more like home. Our next trip will be a Spring one, when hopefully we can catch all the trees blooming. Thanks so much to Roger & Tracy for sharing their home away from home. It was the greatest 'getaway' vacation we ever had. We might even take up fishing next time...... Sherri & Randy

Relaxing Family Get-Away
October 28, 2007
Our family enjoyed our visit - we stayed two weeks and left wishing we could have stayed longer. Our three boys had the time of their lives fishing and playing in the river several time each day. There was so much to do in the Mountain Home area! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, exploring caves, camping, and more. The house had every thing we needed to make our stay comfortable. The owners took great care to have little touches at the house that made our stay special. We loved filling the bird feeders and watching the birds visit. We looked forward each morning to sitting on the deck, drinking coffee, and watching the sun come up. We recommend this vacation home and would be glad to visit again some day soon.

Awesome Family Retreat
July 27, 2007
As a blended family coming from three different states, we all agreed that this fabulous cabin on the White River was the perfect spot to come together and play. The White River is fantastic and offered fishing opportunities that our grown children had not experienced. The cabin sits on a rise looking down on the River. Each day we enjoyed the wilderness feeling as we fished, canoed, and swam in the clear cool water. Everyone agreed that this spot was the perfect location to do as you wished but still have fun as a family.

WOW - A fly Fisherman's Dream
December 31, 2006
Having spent vacations here for several years, all I can say is “WOW!” The cabin (and only one other cabin)sits on about a mile of private, gated river frontage with the only bank side access to Shoe String Shoal. Never heard of Shoe String, well that's because unless you stay here, the only way to fish this shoal is to come in by boat. Therefore, few fly fishers are ever able to enjoy this wonderful shoal. However, for you, it is just an easy stroll down the bank. In addition, it’s only a 7-8 minute drive to Rim Shoals, the most famous/fabulous fly fishing only, catch and release section of the White River. It is also only a quick 15 minute drive to the world famous Norfork River and to Dry Run Creek. The Norfork is just an amazing river, and Dry Run is where my 7 year old has landed 5+ lb. rainbows and my 14 year old’s best fly caught trout have run 10-13 lbs. That’s right; this is the best trout stream in the nation! Sorry, but it’s only for KIDS! So, don’t come without your kids or grand kids along with their fly rods and a camera! If you do bring them, you’ll make them into lifelong trout bums, and you’ll have memories that will never fade! The cabin is a fly fisher’s dream. It is extremely well appointed with artwork, pottery, fish pillows, mounted fish, a fly display with well over a thousand custom flies, and many, many, many other custom touches, including a fly tying desk. The three bedrooms are all very comfortable and each is uniquely different, but each has its own wash basin/mirrors, which helps to alleviate any “crowding” of the two bathrooms. The main room has a great open design with the kitchen/bar/living room pit group/entertainment center all being very comfortable. In addition, the dining room looks out over the deck and river. The cabin has a security system and excellent custom lighting to enhance any mood. On many morning and evening, you can sit on the large comfortable, covered deck and watch the deer in the yard and occasionally see ducks, turkeys and bald eagles! There are even several bird feeders which are always active with goldfinches, hummingbirds and other small ornamental birds. This is a first class place and is truly a fly fisherman’s dream. As I stated, I’ve been lucky enough to have stayed here numerous time over the years, and the cabin has become our family’s favorite vacation destination. I’m sure that your family will love it too. I just cann't believe that it is available for others to rent... It is a fabulous place and a great deal!!!
WARNING !!! GO AWAY!!!
December 11, 2006
I do not want you to rent this property. Go somewhere else, please. I've been renting this cabin for over 6 years, I should know. However. You seem like nice people. Okay. Here goes. It is my lifeline, my ace-in-the-hole, my secret spot. This is the kind of place you tell no one about! (maybe your family) A perfect (I know I said the word) place. I've been retreating to a river since I was 8 years old (over 40 years ago) and this cabin, this location on the White River is the best there is. Not too big, not too small, quiet, accessible, well appointed and private. Perfect for the family, fishing buddies or couples only. The owners know how to do it right! Did I mention the blue ribbon fishing? No? Good . . .
