Description of the Mountain Home vacation cabin rental

Located on a pristine shoal on the White River. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in a secluded gated community is a paradise for fly fishers or just someone wanting to get away from it all.
Fly fishers will find that this is "THE" place to fish. No need to pack up your gear everyday and travel around the area in search of healthy trout. Set your rod up once, hang it on the rod holders on the deck along with your waders and you are ready to fish whenever you desire.
Non-fishers can sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful view of the river, swim in the frigid crystal clear river or just lay on the gravel river bank "Ozark Beach" and read a book while the little ones search for the perfect skipping rock or hunt crawdads.
In the evening make a campfire and toast marshmellows, challenge your family and friends to one of the many games provided or simply light a fire and watch a DVD or satellite TV.
Whatever you decide to do, we guarantee you'll have a wonderful time.
This cabin was build as our weekend home and that is exactly the feeling you will get when you are here. All the comforts of home are provided.

Fly Fishing Galore, November 14, 2007
By Jerry & Susan Moses (Millington, TN USA)
> Hello Tracie, > > Just wanted to let you know that Jerry and I really had a great time over the weekend at your house. The house was sooo great and the whole area was soooo peaceful. It was absolutely beautiful and serene. The only thing we did was FISH. It was alot of fun. I enjoyed fly fishing and I caught 4 fish, my husband caught many more. I could not believe how far in the water I was and we took alot of great pictures. My husband also enjoyed the extensive library you have on fly fishing, everything we needed to know was right there at our finger tips. > Thanks so much for the use of your house and your spot in the river!!!! We would love to return someday soon!!!!!

 Peace & Quiet, November 5, 2007
By Sherri Lilly (Longview, Texas)
My husband and I enjoyed this place as well as any we have visited, and it's so close to home. We have traveled far and wide to beautiful places, but there is somthing special about the South that you don't get everywhere else. Folks are friendly and everything is so convenient, even though you are 'away from it all'. The leaves changing were spectacular, but nothing compares to sitting on the deck and watching the river flow. The Maler's thought of every little thing, and because they actually live there sometimes, it feels more like home. Our next trip will be a Spring one, when hopefully we can catch all the trees blooming. Thanks so much to Roger & Tracy for sharing their home away from home. It was the greatest 'getaway' vacation we ever had. We might even take up fishing next time...... Sherri & Randy

 Relaxing Family Get-Away, October 28, 2007
By Brenda and Greg (Colleyville, TX)
Our family enjoyed our visit - we stayed two weeks and left wishing we could have stayed longer. Our three boys had the time of their lives fishing and playing in the river several time each day. There was so much to do in the Mountain Home area! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, exploring caves, camping, and more. The house had every thing we needed to make our stay comfortable. The owners took great care to have little touches at the house that made our stay special. We loved filling the bird feeders and watching the birds visit. We looked forward each morning to sitting on the deck, drinking coffee, and watching the sun come up. We recommend this vacation home and would be glad to visit again some day soon.

 Awesome Family Retreat , July 27, 2007
By Clark Family (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma )
As a blended family coming from three different states, we all agreed that this fabulous cabin on the White River was the perfect spot to come together and play. The White River is fantastic and offered fishing opportunities that our grown children had not experienced. The cabin sits on a rise looking down on the River. Each day we enjoyed the wilderness feeling as we fished, canoed, and swam in the clear cool water. Everyone agreed that this spot was the perfect location to do as you wished but still have fun as a family.

 WOW - A fly Fisherman's Dream, December 31, 2006
By Kyle Moppert (Baton Rouge, LA)
Having spent vacations here for several years, all I can say is “WOW!” The cabin (and only one other cabin)sits on about a mile of private, gated river frontage with the only bank side access to Shoe String Shoal. Never heard of Shoe String, well that's because unless you stay here, the only way to fish this shoal is to come in by boat. Therefore, few fly fishers are ever able to enjoy this wonderful shoal. However, for you, it is just an easy stroll down the bank. In addition, it’s only a 7-8 minute drive to Rim Shoals, the most famous/fabulous fly fishing only, catch and release section of the White River. It is also only a quick 15 minute drive to the world famous Norfork River and to Dry Run Creek. The Norfork is just an amazing river, and Dry Run is where my 7 year old has landed 5+ lb. rainbows and my 14 year old’s best fly caught trout have run 10-13 lbs. That’s right; this is the best trout stream in the nation! Sorry, but it’s only for KIDS! So, don’t come without your kids or grand kids along with their fly rods and a camera! If you do bring them, you’ll make them into lifelong trout bums, and you’ll have memories that will never fade! The cabin is a fly fisher’s dream. It is extremely well appointed with artwork, pottery, fish pillows, mounted fish, a fly display with well over a thousand custom flies, and many, many, many other custom touches, including a fly tying desk. The three bedrooms are all very comfortable and each is uniquely different, but each has its own wash basin/mirrors, which helps to alleviate any “crowding” of the two bathrooms. The main room has a great open design with the kitchen/bar/living room pit group/entertainment center all being very comfortable. In addition, the dining room looks out over the deck and river. The cabin has a security system and excellent custom lighting to enhance any mood. On many morning and evening, you can sit on the large comfortable, covered deck and watch the deer in the yard and occasionally see ducks, turkeys and bald eagles! There are even several bird feeders which are always active with goldfinches, hummingbirds and other small ornamental birds. This is a first class place and is truly a fly fisherman’s dream. As I stated, I’ve been lucky enough to have stayed here numerous time over the years, and the cabin has become our family’s favorite vacation destination. I’m sure that your family will love it too. I just cann't believe that it is available for others to rent... It is a fabulous place and a great deal!!!

 WARNING !!! GO AWAY!!!, December 11, 2006
By A renter (Memphis,TN)
I do not want you to rent this property. Go somewhere else, please. I've been renting this cabin for over 6 years, I should know. However. You seem like nice people. Okay. Here goes. It is my lifeline, my ace-in-the-hole, my secret spot. This is the kind of place you tell no one about! (maybe your family) A perfect (I know I said the word) place. I've been retreating to a river since I was 8 years old (over 40 years ago) and this cabin, this location on the White River is the best there is. Not too big, not too small, quiet, accessible, well appointed and private. Perfect for the family, fishing buddies or couples only. The owners know how to do it right! Did I mention the blue ribbon fishing? No? Good . . .
