 A Private Get Away, November 4, 2009
By Melissa Knox (Irving, Texas)
This place can't be beat if you want privacy and nature. This is our second year and we'll be back. The cottage is superb and the property wonderful. We saw a bald eagle (if flew over the lake while we were fishing for bass) and we also saw a beaver in the moon light as it crossed the lake.

Paradise For Kids, August 27, 2009
By Doug Christenson (McKinney, Texas)
Let's face it, most vacations are for adults...the kids just come along. This is an opportunity for the kids to come first and the parents end up thrilled with the ride. We knew nothing about this cabin other than what we read. Not much to go on...but we are believers! Jerry and Deb are the real deal...and completely hands off if you want them to be. Our 11 year old son learned to row while bass fishing, our 10 year old daughter rode horses, fed the chickens, cows, bison and any other wildlife she could find to say hi to. Folks, if you want the Ritz-Carlton, go to the Ritz-Carlton. This is an immaculate, well-appointed paradise for a family like ours...just like yours. Nothing fancy but way more than adequate. We cooked our own meals...full kitchen made this easy. Campfires, outdoor BBQ grill and firepit...if you hurry, you might enjoy the pinon wood we left behind. If you don't cook, Deb and Jerry will do that for you. Don't miss this opportunity. I promise...this is the kind of place you will want to come back to. If you are anything like us, you will not want to go back home. Seriously...what more can you ask? By the way, grab some of the cedar discs that are milled on the property. They are super cheap and perfect for your walk way or garden once you return home. They beat any refrigerator magnet or mug you could bring home from the tourist trap you were thinking about going to. dc and family

 Absolute Perfection, July 29, 2009
By Elizabeth Meares (Oklahoma City, OK)
Miller Lake Retreat must closely resemble what heaven might look like. My husband and I stayed for three nights and had a spectacular time. The owners are incredibly gracious and accommodating, the cabin beautiful and immaculate. My husband loves fishing, so we spent a great deal of time on the lake. I’d never rowed a boat before, but it turns out that I loved the motion of it, and it made my back feel great. We cruised around the property in the golf cart each day to catch a glimpse of the bison, deer and various other animals. One of the trees behind the cabin is home to many hummingbirds. The kitchen was quite well appointed, but we opted to cook all our meals on the fire pit by the water. Stew, steaks, cobbler, you name it. If you enjoy outdoor cooking, take along a Dutch oven and go crazy. Food just tastes better cooked over an open flame. It was as relaxing and enjoyable a time as I can recall.

A Little Piece of Heaven, July 24, 2009
By Ann Girtin (Denver)
What a spectacular place this is. Truly stunning. The cottage is nestled in a gorgeous clearing next to the lake and is completely private and quiet. The new cottage is more like a small house, with all the amenities you could ask for and decorated beautifully. We enjoyed sitting on the wrap around deck that faces the lake and listening to all the fantastic sounds. The owners are wonderful people and the service it great. It was hard to leave this place when our time was up! You couldn't ask for more.

This is not Waltons Mountain, March 30, 2009
By Will (Texas)
My daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids rented the Miller Lake for one week as they did the previous year. My daughter asked me to come down and visit with them and I drove down late one evening and spent the night and got up earley the next morning to go home. I was approached by Debbie(owner) and the first words from her mouth were I need your card and puzzled I asked her what card? she replied your credit card I have to charge you $50.00 for spending the night for guests plus tax. I handed her my card and she ran in through visa charging me $50.00 plus tax which was just fine with me. My daughter talked to later and told her she thought this was not fair and she came back and handed me $50.00 in cash plus a handful of quarters and told me it was too much trouble to just credit my account. My daughter receives an email from Debbie is charging her $77.00 for a spilled coco cola or coffee on the carpet. My daughter has alway left the cabin spotless and this was a disappointment.

Hard to leave, May 11, 2008
By Trudi (Central Texas)
The cottage has wonderful views of the woods and lake. Debbie's decor brings the serenity inside. Nothing in excess, all comfort and quality. My husband couldn't stay off the lake, while I took to the trails with the hounds. Now when stress strikes, I can close my eyes and pretend I'm at Miller Lake Retreat!

 Great Get-A-Way!, April 17, 2007
By Laura (Dallas, TX)
What a perfect weekend retreat! Clean and new... with full kitchen, new appliances, laundry, etc. Tons of things to do... hiking, horseback riding, fishing, or just sitting on the back porch looking at the lake. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!

 Peaceful, Quiet & Relaxing, April 16, 2007
By A renter (McKinney, TX)
This place is beautiful. The house is brand new. It was the perfect weekend getaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. My best friend and I had a relaxing time and will definitely go back. Horseback riding is a must, you'll see some breath-taking views.

Cozy weekend by the fire, February 19, 2007
By Gina (Antlers, Oklahoma)
My husband and I spent the night in this wonderful cabin for Valentine's Day. It was a beautiful retreat. Eveything was very clean and brand new. We were served a fabulous dinner. I would highly recommend this cabin for a couple looking to "get away" for the weekend.
