Description of the Mt. Desert Island vacation cabin rental

Located on magical Long Pond which is half owned by Acadia National Park. Great sunsets, fishing, hiking, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking. 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and 10 minutes from Southwest Harbor. Cabin is very comfortable for two people. Nicely decorated varnished pine interior.

cabin was rustic and nice. clean and kept. the view every morning was amazing, crisp pond for swimming, kayaking, mountains for hiking, great biking paths and the ocean all within the park. what a great vaca place

The cabin on Long Pond was wonderful. It's not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable and just right. The bed is soft, the view of the pond is gorgeous, and we never had to contend with a crowd. We loved taking the paddling around and swimming in the pond (much warmer than Maine's ocean water). Our favorite neighbors were the hummingbirds. Our favorite cabin amenities were the mosaic chicken lamp and the canoe.

This little cabin was just what we were looking for. Not too fancy, but right on the water (Long Pond). It was wonderful going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the loons (and the owl calls at night) and being on the water when it was as smooth as glass for kayaking. One room cabin, that comfortably slept our family of 3.

The cabin was perfect and you could not ask for a better setting. Close enough to all the amenities of Mt Dessert while still retaining the peace and quiet of the island. We would definitely rent this cabin again. Make sure to visit the owners son's restaurant in SW harbor (Fiddler's green) and have the scallops.

Quiet except for nature.... Spent most of my time reading on the deck overlooking the serene lake and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. Hiked and went bike riding, spent a day shopping in the village of Bar Harbor. Can't wait to return!
