Family Cottage on All-Sports Wolf Lake (#10903)

Write a review I had set up a surprise birthday get-away for my fiance and I without his knowledge, and we were both completely blown away with the cottage and view from the moment we arrived. The cottage was spotless, and felt so much like home that we were able to relax and completely enjoy our vacation right away. The use of the lake, boats, and toys was a definite bonus that I could not find in any other cottage rentals. Everything on the owner's end was handled in a timely, professional manner and my fiance and I are already planning our next vacation there! Thank you for an absolutely wonderful vacation that we will be raving about for until the next one out there! Fantastic family cottage to stay at. Our kids (7&5) loved the loft area which was stocked with toys. They also loved the different variety of games to play, Disney Charades was a hit! It was nice to just have to bring our clothes and personal items and not have to worry about anything else. Nice location, not too far to get to amenities and beautiful beaches! Very nice place to take a family vacation. The cottage is very well furnished with lots to do especially for the little ones. Indoors are many games, toys, nintendo system, cards, etc. Outside the owners have numerous water toys, lifejackets, boats, and more. Great place to stay and would recommend it to others and will definitely consider this cottage for future vacations. We had a nice week at this cottage. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed the space mountain, pedal boat, kayaks and fishing boat. The only problem (only in our case) was the sleeping arrangement. I would recommend this cottage to others. We sincerely enjoyed our stay here. The lake setting was very picturesque. The clean and well-supplied cottage made for a carefree, relaxed visit. We would definitely recommend this to others, and would return ourselves. Once again we have enjoyed our stay at Hubbard Woods immensely!!! Other than two days of rain, the rest of our stay was more than perfect! But even with the rain we had a blast with all the games provided! This year was special for us as we brought along our exchange student from Spain who in his words had an "awesome time"! We are planning to make this our yearly get away vacation as long as you have it available for rent!! Thanks for providing such a fun and relaxing place to stay! It's so nice to only have to pack your clothes to bring and not worry about the rest! We bought our groceries at the store by the cottage!!! We had a great time at this cottage on the Lake. It was very close to Grand Haven, where there is always something "happening." Lori was wonderful to work with and the cottage provided all of the amenities we could have asked for. So comfortable with so many amenities, all we needed were our clothes and groceries!! Had the time of our lives, even early in the year!! A definite "must stay here" place! My wife and I had a relaxing and wonderful time at the cottage. The cottage is very cozy and the lake is pristine. This is the place to go when you need to unwind and leave the stress behind you. We just came back from our family vacation at Hubbard Woods Cottage(Sept.8-13). We arrived to a very clean, cozy and charming cottage. It was everything we needed for our time together as a family. Our kids loved every minute of their time inside and outside of the cottage. They spent hours each day down on the beach, playing in the water and with the toys, riding the paddle boat, in the kayak and Space Mountain. We left feeling refreshed and reconnected as a family. Our children have been asking if we can go back to the cottage next year! Thanks for a offereing this slice of peacefulness to others. Thank you for sharing your hidaway with us. You made vacationing a whole lot easier. It was everything that you discribed and more. The view was awesome, along with the sunsets. Fishing was very good, right off the dock. We caught over 20 fish. Yellow perch,sunfish and bass. Very peaceful and tranquil. Campfires also in the top 10. Firewood included too! Very affordable and very clean. The house was very clean when we came in and really offered ALL of the amenities you could ever ask for. The neighbors on the right were very nice and also helpful. The beach is so clean and just perfect for swimming and fishing. We are excited to come back next year and are recommending it to our family and friends for their family vacations. We had a wonderful time just relaxing and spending quality time together as a family! It was the perfect mix of having nearby things to do (Lake Michigan, Michigan's Adventure, etc.) and just hanging out at the lake and relaxing. My boys loved playing and sleeping in the loft. Having all the linens and dishes already there and being able to do laundry really makes packing so much easier! What a wonderful place to stay! We couldn't have been happier with this cottage. Dave & Lori, you've made vacationing so much less stressful for us! Everything was already there and we wanted for nothing. Our four children just loved Space Mountain and spent nearly all their time between that, the kayak and paddle boat! We already miss it and want to go back and are planning on renting again next year! Thanks so much for sharing your hideaway! Great cottage with plenty to do. Owners were very accommadating, which made packing and travel smooth. With the kayak, paddle boat, and fishing boat there was enough to keep several people busy. Beach was nice with many toys to make the kids happy. One slight downfall were the steps to get get to these items. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need. It was clean cozy and quiet. The owners were vey helpful in giving directions for the area. We will do a it again soon. Beautiful home, in a fun area with lots to do. The owners are kind and very gracious! Thank you very much for all of your efforts! We stayed here in 2005 and 2006 and enjoyed both trips. Very quiet setting on a nice sized lake that is perfect for smaller children. Sandy bottom and gradual depth so they can go out a decent length from shore. For those that want to cycle this is a prime spot. You can pick up the Musketawa Trail about 10 minutes away for a rails to trails that is paved 26 miles one way. Also drive to Grand Haven and you can take Lakeshore Drive along Lake Michigan down into Holland. Very wide paved shoulders. I preferred the Grand Haven to Holland ride as it is more scenic. You could also drive 20 miles north to Whitehall and pick up the trail there. Did not get a chance to make that trip. As far as Lake Michigan go to PJ Hoffmaster Park for the dunes or the Muskegon City Beach for miles of sand. A nice little county park north of Muskegon is Meinhart. Lots of beach there with very little crowds during the week. Small cottage on a beautiful lake! The lake view is gorgeous day and night. Great state parks close by- awesome for those who vacation w/ dogs! You can have a weekend getaway just at the cottage or venture out. We got the best Honey Crisp Michigan apples and saw Lake Michigan in all its glory at different parks. Ideal for those who love the outdoors! This quaint cottage far exceeded our expectations. The lake is quite picturesque and the cottage itself is clean and cute, and complete with everything you might need. The area was gorgeous and there is plenty to do, or you can just stay back and enjoy the solitude of this kept-away cottage. We're definitely planning on coming back in the summer so we can take better advantage of the lake activites. Though it has a small outside look, we found it to have plenty of room for our whole family. Pretty much everything we needed was there. Nice sandy beach, plenty of outside seating for guests, shade near cottage for those hot days. The only downside for some renters may be the steps leading to the beach (about 45)which we had no problem with, but some with physical problems may have trouble. Plenty of sleeping space and two bathrooms. Nice clean lake for swimming and the private road keeps it quiet day and night. We really enjoyed our stay.
