A really great weekend

We had a pleasant drive across the state viewing the leaves changing colors. The cottage was ready on time, it was super clean and comfy. After quickly unpacking, we made a b-line for Wolf Lake which was quiet and we took the rowboat around the lake followed by making a campfire, thanks for having firewood there for us to use. The following day we took a short drive to Lake Michigan for some fun with our dog Basil and had another evening campfire and grilling on the huge grill out in back. Although the cottage has neighbors near by we didn't see anyone the whole weekend. It was super relaxing, and we plan on passing the word on to our friends and making plans for repeat visits.

We had great time, this was a special getaway for us! It was very relaxing. The cottage had everything!!!!!we needed. I would recommend to anyone looking for great place in the area. Our daughter goes to school in Milwaukee, so she was able to come over on the ferrry and spend a coupl of days out of her busy schedule, great time. Our dog loved it. The stairs to the beach gave us some exersize, who doesn't need that?:) Loved it.

Great choice for outdoor relaxing/entertaining

The property is really beautiful and spacious. We spent most of our time around the fire pit, either reading or visiting with nearby relatives. The water sports were easy and enjoyable. The living area is a bit dated, however we found it comfortable. Fans came in handy on the warmer afternoons. The window A/C unit in the bedroom performed well and kept us cool at night. We liked all the storage, hooks and available toys for visiting children. The more modern bathroom and washer/dryer were a plus. The older stove was intimidating but we did use it once, so we got over it. Toaster could be replaced, it seemed to be on it's last leg. Coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator all worked fine. The back yard was the highlight for us. The picnic table, patio area and fire pit all made great spots to visit and enjoy the quiet sounds of the lake. I went for a run a couple mornings and encountered three deer crossing the road. That was cool!

THe cottage was exactely what we were looking for. Secluded but convenient to other local attractions. We found everything exactly how it was described online.(not so with other properties we considered). THe communication with the owner was smooth and everything went as promised. THe deposit was returned in 3 days after our stay was done. We will definitely be back to hubbard woods cottage in the future. We stayed at the cottage for my grandsons graduation. It worked out great as it was only one mile from my daughters house. The cottage was great. It was as advertised. We fished every day and had alot of fun staying at the cottage. It was a perfect vacation for us. THey had alot of amenties that I didnt expect. We enjoyed it so much that we are planning on making it a yearly vacation. It was very reasonably priced and very warm and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the muskegon area. The owners followed thru with everything they said they would. I would like to personally thank the owners for a wonderful vacation.

GREAT Cottage for our Getaway!!!

Thanks so much for the opportunity to stay at your lovely cottage. It TRULY had everything we needed/wanted. We've been home for less than a week and received our deposit...you were great to do business with for sure! We have been recommending you to so many because we know what a gem of a property you have there on Wolf Lake. We relaxed on the beach, around the firepit, at the picnic table with the kids...We explored at Lake MIchigan, the Sand Dunes...the farmer's markets...& downtown Muskegon. We accidentally stopped by the little restaurant called Courses and the Sweet Spot which we learned is put on by the Michigan Institute of Culinary Arts...the pastries we got were FABULOUS and very inexpensive...and did I mention the Red Haven peaches from the farmer's market down the street...so good! We fished, we swam, we pedal boated, we watched gorgeous sunsets every night, we chatted with the friendly neighbors...we taught our 10 year old lab to jump off the dock into the water...a feat we'd tried many times over the years....he finally did it! Then he begged for us to throw his toy from the dock. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! What a great place...we have some wonderful memories. And...I never like to do "chores" on vacatoin but the washer & dryer were so convenient that I went ahead and did some clothes before coming home which was great because upon arrival here in NY we had power outages from the hurricane/tropical storm and what a relief to have clean laundry. Thank you so much for the great space to hang out with family on the lake!!!

Our family rented the Hubbard Woods Cottage on Wolf Lake for 7 days. We had a great time. I don't think you could ask for more if you're looking to relax and have a peaceful time. The lake is nice. Our family enjoyed the kayaks and pedal boat that come with the cottage rental. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and sitting around a fire at night.We went to Michigan Adventure and several of the State Parks, that are near by. I would recommend Pere Marquette if you are looking for a nice beach and swimming in Lake Michigan. The time went by too fast. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away and have a relaxing time.

A Peaceful Retreat

What a beautiful setting to get away to... we spent seven days in mid-May at this wonderful lakeside cabin and it was difficult to leave. The sunsets were breath-taking... the quiet of the lake and the woods was peaceful... we truly enjoyed out time at Hubbard Woods and were thankful that we had chosen to stay there... you have everything that you need, you just bring your person items, clothes and food... and we took our boat, but there are boats there for your use. Great choice, great place!

Fall Escape

We had a great week at the cottage this fall. The cottage worked out very well for a relaxing get away. We enjoyed many sites in the surrounding areas as well as the wineries. Our dogs traveled with us which worked out well with the cottage too. As promised the sunset views from the cottage were fabulous. Overall this was everything we thought it would be. We would definitely go back to this property.

Relaxingweek on the lake

Just got back from a 5 night stay and we had a great time. My boys (8-6yrs) had a blast playing on the "iceberg", driving the paddleboat and fishing off the pier. Cabin is a bit on the small side but it is supposed to be. We spent almost all of our time outside by the lake. Close to Lake Michigan, MiAdventure and plenty of golf courses. Cooked a couple of meals on the charcol grill and went to a local pizza place for a couple more. Great pizza at Wolfies. I was lucky enough to play golf StoneGate golf course. Great course!!! Went to Sodini blueberry farm and u-picked 15lbs of blue berries for $20. What a great deal. The highlight of the vacation was the 45 minute drive north to Silver Lake park. The kids loved the MacWoods dune ride. Absolutely stunning views. Can't believe we were in Michigan. Everything one needs for a great family vacation is at this cabin. We can't wait to come back next year. Thanks Lori.

Family fun time

After a week of quality family time we are enjoying our memories of our stay on Wolf Lake. The cabin is nothing fancy, but for us it was far more solid and much more relaxing the tent we had used in the past while in Michigan. We enjoyed reading stories with our girls everynight while looking over the lake as the sun woul set. The girls loved fishing with daddy every morning and there was no shortage of fish to catch (and put back straight away). We had everything we needed. I would have liked to have been able to open the bedroom windows for sleep at night but that is such a minor thing compared to the overall relaxing and enjoyable time we had.

I had set up a surprise birthday get-away for my fiance and I without his knowledge, and we were both completely blown away with the cottage and view from the moment we arrived. The cottage was spotless, and felt so much like home that we were able to relax and completely enjoy our vacation right away. The use of the lake, boats, and toys was a definite bonus that I could not find in any other cottage rentals. Everything on the owner's end was handled in a timely, professional manner and my fiance and I are already planning our next vacation there! Terrific family cottage!

Fantastic family cottage to stay at. Our kids (7&5) loved the loft area which was stocked with toys. They also loved the different variety of games to play, Disney Charades was a hit! It was nice to just have to bring our clothes and personal items and not have to worry about anything else. Nice location, not too far to get to amenities and beautiful beaches!

Great Kid Friendly Cottage

Very nice place to take a family vacation. The cottage is very well furnished with lots to do especially for the little ones. Indoors are many games, toys, nintendo system, cards, etc. Outside the owners have numerous water toys, lifejackets, boats, and more. Great place to stay and would recommend it to others and will definitely consider this cottage for future vacations.

We had a nice week at this cottage. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed the space mountain, pedal boat, kayaks and fishing boat. The only problem (only in our case) was the sleeping arrangement. I would recommend this cottage to others.

Paradise Again

Once again we have enjoyed our stay at Hubbard Woods immensely!!! Other than two days of rain, the rest of our stay was more than perfect! But even with the rain we had a blast with all the games provided! This year was special for us as we brought along our exchange student from Spain who in his words had an "awesome time"! We are planning to make this our yearly get away vacation as long as you have it available for rent!! Thanks for providing such a fun and relaxing place to stay! It's so nice to only have to pack your clothes to bring and not worry about the rest! We bought our groceries at the store by the cottage!!!

We just came back from our family vacation at Hubbard Woods Cottage(Sept.8-13). We arrived to a very clean, cozy and charming cottage. It was everything we needed for our time together as a family. Our kids loved every minute of their time inside and outside of the cottage. They spent hours each day down on the beach, playing in the water and with the toys, riding the paddle boat, in the kayak and Space Mountain. We left feeling refreshed and reconnected as a family. Thank you for sharing your hidaway with us. You made vacationing a whole lot easier. It was everything that you discribed and more. The view was awesome, along with the sunsets. Fishing was very good, right off the dock. We caught over 20 fish. Yellow perch,sunfish and bass. Very peaceful and tranquil. Campfires also in the top 10. Firewood included too! Very affordable and very clean. Will be back next year for sure. We didn't want to leave. Thank you for everything.

The neighbors on the right were very nice and also helpful. The beach is so clean and just perfect for swimming and fishing. We had a wonderful time just relaxing and spending quality time together as a family! It was the perfect mix of having nearby things to do (Lake Michigan, Michigan's Adventure, etc.) and just hanging out at the lake and relaxing. My boys loved playing and sleeping in the loft. Having all the linens and dishes already there and being able to do laundry really makes packing so much easier!

What a wonderful place to stay! We couldn't have been happier with this cottage. Dave & Lori, you've made vacationing so much less stressful for us! Great cottage with plenty to do. Owners were very accommadating, which made packing and travel smooth. With the kayak, paddle boat, and fishing boat there was enough to keep several people busy. Beach was nice with many toys to make the kids happy. One slight downfall were the steps to get get to these items.

Great Value - Biking nearby

We stayed here in 2005 and 2006 and enjoyed both trips. Very quiet setting on a nice sized lake that is perfect for smaller children. Sandy bottom and gradual depth so they can go out a decent length from shore. For those that want to cycle this is a prime spot. You can pick up the Musketawa Trail about 10 minutes away for a rails to trails that is paved 26 miles one way. Also drive to Grand Haven and you can take Lakeshore Drive along Lake Michigan down into Holland. Very wide paved shoulders. I preferred the Grand Haven to Holland ride as it is more scenic. You could also drive 20 miles north to Whitehall and pick up the trail there. Did not get a chance to make that trip. As far as Lake Michigan go to PJ Hoffmaster Park for the dunes or the Muskegon City Beach for miles of sand. A nice little county park north of Muskegon is Meinhart. Lots of beach there with very little crowds during the week.

Small cottage on a beautiful lake! The lake view is gorgeous day and night. Great state parks close by- awesome for those who vacation w/ dogs! You can have a weekend getaway just at the cottage or venture out. We got the best Honey Crisp Michigan apples and saw Lake Michigan in all its glory at different parks. Ideal for those who love the outdoors!

This quaint cottage far exceeded our expectations. The lake is quite picturesque and the cottage itself is clean and cute, and complete with everything you might need. The area was gorgeous and there is plenty to do, or you can just stay back and enjoy the solitude of this kept-away cottage. We're definitely planning on coming back in the summer so we can take better advantage of the lake activites.

Though it has a small outside look, we found it to have plenty of room for our whole family. Pretty much everything we needed was there. Nice sandy beach, plenty of outside seating for guests, shade near cottage for those hot days. The only downside for some renters may be the steps leading to the beach (about 45)which we had no problem with, but some with physical problems may have trouble. Plenty of sleeping space and two bathrooms. Nice clean lake for swimming and the private road keeps it quiet day and night. We really enjoyed our stay.
