Our grandchildren loved "Gramma's House"
June 18, 2014
Three generations stayed at this home for a family reunion weekend and it provided a perfect proximity to the site of the reunion, as well as a respite once the reunion was over. The family tradition for our family of s'mores was easily held at its fire pit in the lovely fenced back yard, and two trips to beautiful Pere Marquette Beach delighted not only the grandchildren, but all of us. Sand castles were created, holes dug, and playground equipment enjoyed on two balmy June evenings. The neighborhood character of the Bluffton area gave it a real family feel. The seasoned home felt, indeed, like someone's grandma's house, with bedrooms and room for all to stretch out. It was also nicely equipped with necessities, much appreciated. A nice option for a family gathering. The proximity to stunning Pere Marquette Beach can't be beat.

Weekend to remember
October 15, 2013
Although my weekend was a winner to begin with (just having time alone with my wonderful hubby) it was even better because of this rental. Soooo comfortable, quiet and scenic. Recommend strongly for anyone wanting these wonderful assets in a rental.
Great house, excellent location (sort of)
July 29, 2013
First off, Gramma's house is great. Plenty of room for the 3 families that stayed there to live. We enjoyed use of the firepit in the backyard, the close proximity to lake Michigan and Muskegon lake, and the provided bicycles, toys, and beach towels. They really make you feel welcome here. My only reservation is that Muskegon the city appears to be in serious economic decline. Some of the neighborhoods around the city (NOT gramma's neighborhood) seem a bit sketchy. Also, the downtown area lacks the charm of most of the other lakeside spots along Michigan's coast. Oh well, it's a short trip to Grand Haven where the downtown is great. I would recommend gramma's house.
Yes Muskegon has been hit hard. It was once a manufacturing city. As the factories became outdated owners closed them and moved to the south where they could get a tax break for bringing new business. Many buildings have been torn down or converted into apts., but there are still a few standing. Beautifying the city has been an ongoing process. A little history lesson. : ). I hope you had a chance to see some of the historic buildings downtown like Hackley Library and Hackley and Hume houses.

Although no AC fans were sufficient. It was the perfect spot due to us attending a regatta at the Muskegon Yacht Club. The dryer came in handy for the foul weather gear needed due to rain on third day. All worked out great. Definitely would rent again.

Peace, serenity and sunsets
April 18, 2011
My time spent at Gramma's House by the Lake will always be a special time that I can reflect on. The wonderful breeze when sitting outside and walking down to Lake Michigan to see the beautiful sunsets can only be described as serene. The huge rooms were great for entertaining, and the kitchen great for cooking. The house has multiple windows which was so nice when the sun came up. I would highly recommend this large house for a nice quiet place to get away from the rat race.

Serenity at Gramma's House by the Lake.
April 11, 2011
I had the pleasure of being a guest at this wonderful home near Lake Mukegon over Memorial Weekend 2010. Serenity is what best describes my stay. What a prestine beach! I was impressed by the many sights and activities in the area. History lovers will very much enjoy Muskegon and the surround Great Lakes area. There was also a great deal of restoration and investing going on in the downtown district area. This spacious home, just a block from the beach is perfect for multiple families to share. And I loved the many beautiful flowers surrounding the house. I highly recommend Gramma's House by the Lake!
