Description of the Nantucket vacation home rental
"Thistledew" is the name of our fabulous on the beach home in Madaket, the western or sunset end of Nantucket. The ocean is just steps out the front door and the sunsets are famous. The home has a large deck extending off the back of the house, facing East for beautiful mornings and views of Hither Creek and Nantucket Sound. A short private path leads to our little dock in the Creek where kayaks and an old rowboat are stored for your use. This home is within a private compound of four homes all owned and operated by our family. Due to the foresightedness of my parents we have been fortunate enough to spend our summers here for over fifty years. We care greatly for this island and our land and homes here. We are always available if you should need something.
If you have always dreamed of a beautiful ocean-front beach house with water views from every window and everything you might need to enjoy your vacation, then think of Thistledew.
The house is located in a private compound before the bridge to Smith's Point at the end of Madaket Road. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Hither Creek the location, water views and the magnificent beaches and starry nights are exhilarating
Nantucket's fabulous bike paths end right at your driveway and the NRTA--Nantucket shutle bus leaves from The West End Restaurant every half-hour from 7am until midnight. The walk to the Shuttle is about five minutes from the house.The shuttle delivers you to the heart of town. If you wish to bike into town (6 miles) and decide that you don't wish to bike back, no problem, the shuttle will take your bikes and you can ride comfortably until the last stop.
You will love the views, sounds and the time you spend here. Shuttle passes are available from NRTA--Nantucket Regional Transit Authority.

Madaket is the furthest west you can go on the island. The sun sets in the ocean. The air is the finest. There are bike paths that enable you to go all around the island safely. The NRTA or Nantucket Shuttle bus runs in and out of Nantucket Center and then connects to other locations all over the island. It leaves every half hour from The Westend Restaurant about a five minute walk from the house.
The Atlantic Ocean is just out your front door. Every room and every window has a waterview.The calm waters of Hither Creek and Madaket Harbor are enticing from the privacy of your deck. You can enjoy the sunrises and sunsets and then the Night Sky and Milky Way from your Beach House.

Beauty of the Beach, September 5, 2006 Five of us, 3 kids--18, 15, 10 and several friends all found peace and pleasure during our stay. The water and the views are gorgeous and the house itself was clean, wonderfully equipped and delightfully decorated. Enjoy!
