Description of the Narrowsburg vacation cottage rental

Drift Boat Cottage is a newly renovated two-bedroom house with 180 feet of direct riverfront on a quiet residential street in the well-kept village of Narrowsburg. The bright, sunny house has one bath, an eat-in kitchen, a spacious living room and two bedrooms, one with a Queen-size bed and the other with a twin bed and trundle bed that pulls out from under the twin. (See link at bottom of page, by calendar, more photos.) The patio has a lovely table and chairs and a barbecue for relaxed enjoyment and entertaining, with chairs strewn across the lawn to take advantage of the spectacular river views. Just half a block away is a small park with playground equipment and playing fields. Washer and dryer are in the basement.

Area Description

Narrowsburg, a two-hour drive from the GWB (when traffic permits), is the home of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, and there are numerous arts events in town and in nearby locations throughout the year. Jazz and opera performances take place all summer at a theater just a short walk from the house. It is just 15 minutes to the newly constructed Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, on the site of the original Woodstock festival, which hosts rock, jazz and classical concerts as well as other events. The museum commemorating the festival and the culture of the 60s is just newly opened.

Quiet family fun!, July 30, 2009

We loved the decor and location! The view overlooking the river was incredible. Bald eagle families were flying up and down the river daily training the young ones, deer and other birds were abundent. Breakfast was out on the porch each morning. We used the fire pit for evening end routine. The kids had a blast walking the river and catching creatures. We enjoyed the Riverfest downtown (within walking distance)and the Whistlestop for a late breakfast. Pecks Market also carried delights for a caterer that made our meals special. We had our elderly mother with us and it was a bit of a challenge with the bathing in a high soaking tub, but the rest of us loved it. We will be returning next year!
