The above quote is the way I describe my handpainted decorative art furniture. Recently I realized that it perfectly describes my home as well. When I purchased the property, all who came to visit said it was meant for me.....truly an artist's magical home on a hilltop in the woods, complete with pool and tiki bar and a bomb for a weathervane.

I knew from the start that the property was so special that it was meant to be shared, which I've done with family and friends. Recently I decided to offer it to travelers or familiy and friends of people in our community of Leiper's Fork.

The drive up a long, often bumpy, gravel driveway in the shadow of the woods is an adventure in itself. The house is fairly simple from the front as it is built from a barn kit. Once inside the front door, the magic begins with a large handpainted armoire that looks like it was painted into the house. There are vaulted ceilings, posts and beams, light fixtures that look as though they are from a castle, a window seat with a zebra covered cushion, a stone fireplace with a 'fish' stone at its center, and antique wallpaper and tile in the kitchen.

Out the back door is more magic... a screened gazebo with the bomb weathervane, a curvy multi-level deck which ends with the pool and tiki bar. All this in a completely private setting in the woods. There are no curtains! There are trees to watch dance, birds to look at and use as alarm clocks, the hoot of owls, deer and turkey that roam freely.

As you can see, this is not your 'city' house even though it has all the conveniences and it's 5 minutes from a grocery and liquor store and 7 minutes to Franklin or Leiper's Fork. It's furnished with my personal belongings, including a sprinkling of handpainted furniture.

As guests, you'll have private use of the house....living room, dining room, kitchen, and half bath on the main floor; 2 bedrooms each with a double bed, and a full bath on the 2nd floor. There's a thrid bedroom/bath with 2 twin beds that might be available on special request. The deck and pool are yours as well. I reside in another structure on the property, but I may do some work in my studio/workshop which has it's own private access in the basement.

Bring your sense of humor and your sense of wonder. Visit Franklin for it's history and wonderful downtown stores; visit Leiper's Fork for the same thing. And there is WONDERFUL live music all around!

Guests may request: use of phone line for computer or phone calls;use of washer-dryer in studio. Special requests are welcomed.

Fridge can be stocked with a few essentials of your preference or fully stocked as you request. If you are arriving or working late and would like a light meal or snack, please ask.

The SW corner of Williamson County is very beautiful country. Rolling hills, country roads, large portions of land dedicated to the Land Trust of Tennessee. Music abounds everywhere.

Visit Leipers Fork, historic Franklin, or famous Music City-Nashville.

There is great food and GREAT GREAT music at Puckett's Grocery, both in Leiper's Fork and Franklin!!!! Now in Nashville, too!
