Reviews for this vacation home rental in Nashville, Tennessee
Port Saint Lucie, FL

Our stay was perfect; it all started with the owners of the property. Very polite, respectful and helpful. The cottage was clean, well maintained and suited for all of our needs. We enjoyed the scenery and tranquility of the property. It was peaceful and worth the stay over any hotel you could ever stay at. Highly recommend this location and would definitely book the Dove Cottage again.

Loved our time together. The invitation to your home in Wyoming was over the top. Your testimonies I will long remember. Guest like you is why we are here. What a weekend with you guys here and the 4 times returning friends from Ohio and the young ladies story of restoration. What a week and weekend for me also. It will all stay in my memories and we will meet again.
Excellent, awesome beyond any expectations

Quiet Tennessee vacation

We had a very relaxing and quiet time in the country for our Tennessee vacation. The owners are very nice and the house was one of the nicest country homes to stay in. Staying here made our trip so much more enjoyable! :)

The Place To Stay
March 31, 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at the farm. It was more than we could have asked for. The location is perfectly relaxing, while only being minutes away from Nashville. The house is beautiful and spacious, and there is plenty of room to enjoy outside. We will not stay anywhere else when visiting that area of Tennessee!
Will be back every year

Some of the greatest people I have ever meet. Peacefull, great location, super clean, everything we needed was there. We fished a tournament on Old Hickory lake only 12 miles away. Could not have asked for anything better. Wife and I are hoping to return again late fall

My husband and I rented this house so that we could gather with our adult sons somewhere and have some entertainment available. The farmhouse was wonderful - we had very cozy accommodations as well as the ability to hike, have campfires every evening, and a very pastoral location to unwind. Beth and Billy went out of their way to insure that our stay went well. We couldn't have wished for more.

peace and quiet
August 13, 2012
The house was very nice. The feel inside was very cozy and relaxing. The country setting was wonderful. If you wanted to get away from each other for some peace and quiet, all you had to do was go outside and sit on the porch and listen to the animals. We thought the location was ideal - Nashville wasn't far away. The pictures don't do it justice. The home is beautifully decorated and the rooms are much larger than they appear in the pictures. The only down-side that we found was that we could have used one more bathroom. We had 5 adults who all wanted to use the bathroom, in the morning, at the same time. I would definately recomend the home to anyone who is going to Nashville or for vacation in Tennessee.

Very Nice and Relaxing
July 30, 2012
We enjoyed everything about our stay! The home was very clean, everything that we needed was provided, the country location was nice and relaxing but still within reasonable distance (30 minutes) to downtown Nashville. The owners were also very accessible, answered our calls on the first try each time. We definitely would stay here again!

We stayed at this rental for a week in May. We had a wonderful time! The house was large enough for my husband and me, his parents, and our three young children. We spent one day at Mammoth Caves (only a 45-60 minute drive). The rest of our time was spent exploring the property and enjoying the outdoors. Our children enjoyed chasing crickets, finding fireflies and listening to the frogs at night. They also enjoyed throwing small rocks into the catfish pond and exploring the barns on the property. We spent an evening around the campfire (Billy, the owner, came over to build it for us). We also brought a kiddie pool that they played with in the front yard. Billy's mom came over to watch the kids play and to welcome us. The house was large, bright and clean. It was a perfect place for our family vacation. We found the setting to be very relaxing, yet close enough to I-65 that we could take short trips to Mammoth Caves and to Nashville.

The Perfect Place to Get Away
May 21, 2012
We just returned from our 4 day stay at The Red Farmhouse. We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The farmhouse is not too far out of town, but it feels miles from the city. The property is perfectly maintained, very pretty and absolutely serene. The 3 bedroom house is beautifully furnished with lovely antiques. I was especially intrigued by the pie safe in the kitchen, which functions as a pantry. The kitchen is spacious and well-laid out. Everything I needed to cook and serve meals was there waiting for me....we just had to bring the food! There are 3 bedrooms, each uniquely furnished. We used only the master bedroom and found the mattress to be just perfect. Usually I end up with backaches when I travel from too-soft mattresses, but not in this case! The house also boasts a furnished laundry room and a very large bathroom. We have absolutely no complaints about the property and feel very lucky to have found it! Satellite TV and wi-fi access are available for guest use for no additional charge. The internet speed was quite fast and consistent. We were greeted by the owner and given a tour of the place. There is a basket of brochures on the desk with tons of ideas for places to visit. The best part for us was the absolute seclusion. We strolled down the path towards Dove Cottage, sat on the swing by the catfish pond, and explored the barn, yet never saw another soul. It's amazing to hear absolutely no sounds except those of nature. The fireflies were in mating season, and each night the field was lit up, as if strung with twinkle lights! We explored the small town nearby, and shared a banana split at the old fashioned soda fountain in town. We cooked hot dogs over the fire pit beside the house and drank in the country night air. My boyfriend was able to engage in his daily run and enjoy undisturbed quiet and breathtaking pastoral scenery. There was nothing we needed that wasn't readily available. For those who prefer to stay more in touch with civilization, there are many restaurants and stores (including Wal-mart) just 15 minutes away. We are absolutely AMAZED that we were able to get all this for less than the price of a modest hotel room. Beth and Billy were absolutely WONDERFUL to us and we will not hesitate to Stay Down on the Farm again. It was a restful, joyful and soul-restoring experience.
Little Red Farm House
May 21, 2012
We loved staying at the little red farm house! It was the perfect size for the 4 of us that stayed there. An evening by the campfire watching the fireflies and making s'mores was so much fun! Billy and Beth were so accommodating and friendly! Beth showed us brochures and recommended places to visit. An ice cream parlor that was close to the house was delicious! We will definately stay here again when we visit Nashville!

The little red farm house is a great place to to take your vacation. When we arrived at at the farm house Billy and Beth were there to greet us they showed us the lay out of the house and the beautiful 100 acres that the house sits on.Billy and Beth were helpful in every way including pulling the fish hook out of one of our dogs upper lip.The walking trails are great at the back of the property and the catfish pond is full of catfish of all sizes. We will be back and we are going to stay in the dove cottage next time

The retreat was exactly what we needed: a quiet, somewhat secluded place close to every convience available. We were stressed with work and needed a break. It was a beautiful home, in a beautiful area that allowed us to rest in His peace.
Thanks. It has turned out as we envisioned over 20 years ago. A place we enjoyed and wanted to share. Close to Nashville and so many other wonderful sites in Tn. and Southern Ky. I am thrilled each time others enjoy what we saw and loved about this area and our farm. It is growing and we are adding little pieces of farm living and history each year. As time, life and divine intervention would have it, we are not just sharing a place but a bit of ourselves as well.

Can't wait to come back
November 27, 2011
My father, two sons, their girlfriends, and I came to Stay Down on the Farm for my niece's wedding. This was the most perfect place for us to stay. The area around the farm is beautiful, and had perfect places to walk and spend some time alone. The living room was great when we all wanted to spend time together. Having 6 of us and one bathroom? Well, let's just say I didn't have to worry. With two sinks and two mirrors, we were all able to get ready for the wedding the next day. I have never stayed in a place that was so clean and well kept. There were enough magazines and books to keep us busy in the early morning. Bedrooms were perfect and beds extremely comfortable. The owners, Beth and Billy Wilkinson were the nicest people and very anxious to make our stay perfect. I've been thinking what could have made our stay better. Honestly, nothing. I can't wait to come back in December and enjoy some time again.

We stayed in the Red farm House and loved it. From the time we made the reservations to the time that we left, we felt that we were not just a number, but a guest. Beth and Billy were wonderful and we felt so at home. The property is peaceful and beautiful and the house had everything that we could possibly have wanted. So much better than a hotel in the city! We look forward to our future visits.

Down on the Farm--The Little Red Farm House
October 16, 2011
The house was great--roomy, good beds, a big kitchen, and a nice porch to sit out on. Peace and quiet, with birds keeping us company. We used the home as a base, and did daily trips into Nashville and the enviorns. Needed more than 3 nights to get everything in that there was to see and do. The owners were very helpful providing books and pamphlets for us to read and also provided us with driving directions to destinations. Highly recommended!
Fun on the farm
October 14, 2011
Bill and Beth were wonderful hosts, providing us with ideas of things in the area to do. They were also great with my grandchildren (5&7), taking them for rides on the golf carts, feeding the fish and even providing toys and books. The Red farm house is beautiful and the property is beautiful as well as peaceful. A short distance from Nashville as well as the wonderul little winery in Portland (the wine is topnotch).

A Birthday Surprise
September 29, 2011
We had an absolutely beautiful weekend at Stay Down on the Farm. It was a surprise family weekend for my mother's 70th birthday and everyone had fun, from the grandparents down to the littlest one - 4 year old. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and the grounds are picturesque and peaceful. Wonderful! We'll be back.

The Red Farm house is gorgeous! It's a great place for any family to stay. My family and I had a blast during our stay and will definately be back! Oh, and the owners are just as awesome! Great people!

My only complaint is we didn't stay longer! Billy and Beth Wilkinson are gracious hosts with beautiful land and a gorgeous house to enjoy a stay in TN. The house has all the amenities for everyday use, but let us enjoy being away from "life" for a bit. They were both extremely helpful with all my questions before our trip and while we were there, as well. We hope w can come back and stay longer next time. Thank you both so much!! Cheers, Shelly
Wonderful place to relax

For two busy moms looking for a nice, quiet and peaceful country retreat - the little red farm house really fit the bill! Very affordable and worth every cent. The house is furnished and decorated with such care and the owners are very hospitable. We will be sure to stay again sometime in the future!

Best place we have ever vacationed!
June 2, 2011
When we booked our stay at The Little Red Farm House, we never dreamed it would be so beautiful and inviting. From the moment we arrived, it never felt like a vacation spot or rental, but rather a home! The house was tastefully decorated with beautiful antiques and country accents. It was filled with anything you could possibly need, short of your groceries. The home even has a washer and dryer! The hosts were the nicest people and made us feel at home. They were so thoughtful that they even came to the house in the middle of the evening during a storm to give us a lantern. We enjoyed catching catfish in the pond, taking walks and taking in the beautiful scenery, sitting on the front porch in the evening listening to the wildlife. We picked strawberries at a nearby farm, visited an old fashioned soda fountain, found antiques at a local antique shop, enjoyed delicious BBQ, sampled wine at a nearby winery, and even made a short drive to Nashville's Farmers market for fresh peaches. Coming from the suburbs - it doesn't get any better than that! I wish we would have stayed two weeks instead of one!
GREAT PEACEFUL PLACE TO STAY

Very nice home to stay in, very clean, well kept and decorated and spacious, about 25 minutes outside Nashville and worth the drive for the peaceful atmosphere. Owners were great!
100 acre red farm house
September 2, 2010
We had a wonderful stay at the Red Farm House. The home was very clean, efficient and spacious. It is located within an easy commute to Nashville, but feels rural, quiet and peaceful. The owners were friendly and available for any questions/needs but also gave us "space". I would definitely recommend staying there.
We stayed at the Little Red Farm last August (2009). I have thought about our vacation many many times since, but never added a comment. When researching for vacation this year, I was reminded of the "Farm" and what an incredibly fun time we had. I decided it was about time I let others know of a "jewel of the south". It was our first family vacation in decades. We all had a fabulous time cooking in the great country kitchen, walking the paths, cat-fishing, roasting marshmallows around the campfire pit(never laughed so hard in my life). We were in a peaceful quiet area but still close to all the excitement of Nashville. And Billy and Beth were absolutely marvelous hosts. So kind and considerate and helpful with things to do and places to see. We hope to go back to the "Farm" again.
Stay Down on the Farm was truly a home away from home. The fully equipped kitchen cut down on our dining out costs. We enjoyed peaceful country solitude yet we were at the Grand Ole Opry in 30 minutes in Nashville. Each time we sat on the porch we were joined by hummingbirds that seemed as curious about us as we were about them. By far the best place we have ever stayed away from home.

This was by far the best place we have stayed. The house is so charmingly decorated and the grounds are so peaceful. Billy and Beth are very gracious hosts. They made us feel welcome. All the amenities are provided. My husband and I will DEFINITELY return only next time we're taking the kids so they can experience the beauty of this place!

I'll echo the other reviews. Great place to get away and still be able to see the Nashville sites without all the craziness of staying in Nashville. Perfect for families or just a quiet couples' getaway. Great hosts.
