breathtaking views and clean homey feel

November 14, 2013

We arrived early by one day and Am was able to book us an extra day so we didn't have to get a motel. The location is exactly what we wanted amount am in setting on a beautiful lake. The house was very clean and had everything we needed.the only problem we had was the hot tub wouldn't heat up the first note however Pam,s husband came in the morning and it just needed to be reset no problems the rest of our vacation. There is a store three miles away called little dodge that is great for food, gas and supplies(must try there smoked pork).we really hope to go back.we hated leaving to go back to N.C

pretty area

October 27, 2013

Pretty area, nice people, great bbq.The house was not what I expected. Not right on the water as the pictures suggest. The owner Pam was very attentive, she replaced the broken grille the next am. The frontsteps uneven, made it hard for 70yr olds. Not enough glasses/cups for 6 (only 4cups/2glasses)we had to buy plastic cups, 5 towels for 6 people. When the description says everything is there to relax...that is what I expect. House is built on an incline and it does tilt....sorry.

Wonderful and Relaxing!

October 27, 2013

This was such a great getaway from the stresses of work and daily life. My husband and I went fishing, walking, swimming, and were able to let our dog off the leash to run around and swim. The cabin was great! Very well maintained and secluded with our own private dock. We had everything we needed there, just had to stop by the store to get some food. Word to the wise, bring your food with you or stop on the way, cause WalMart is a 30-40 minute drive from the cabin on all back, windy roads. This was a pretty big cabin for us, so I would recommend going with a group and splitting the price; lots of bedrooms and lots of beds! Great place :)

I had called to rent the property. I thought everything was set and was waiting for contract. I called back and was told busy weekend the daughter had just rented the property. I was not happy. Other properties I had viewed had all been rented

somewhat surprised

September 11, 2013

The surpirses were 1) the steep steps from the front parking area up into the house. 2) hardly any glasses (3) Otherwise we really coudn't find anything to complain about. Even though the place was some distance from convienences like WalMart or eating places. But that's expected because you're in the backwood of Tennessee. It was very quiet and restful. The beach area that is shown in the photos is Ok, you can launch a pontoon boat or fishing boat; but there is no place to tie up. So...we rented a slip at the marina which was about 5-6 miles away. Wheich wasOk because it was state run and not a lot of activity. The security was good. I wouldn't mind going back to that area. We had a great time.

Lake Property

July 16, 2013

The property was not exactly what I expected, however everything was clean and in working order. Had a wonderful time at this vacation home. Would recommend wheeled kart to transport the kayaks to the lake, carrying short distance was tuff. No wireless access anywhere in area and my hot spot didn't work in area. 25 minute drive for wireless. Had a great time overall and property was all that was promised!

Great deck & views!

July 8, 2013

It was the perfect place for our vacation with our 2 grown daughters & their husbands. It is pet & kid friendly. Plenty to do without having to spend any money for extra entertainment! Fishing, swimming, kayaking & hiking all within a short walk to the lake. A great deck, hot tub & grill right at the house. If you stay, you should go see Burgess Falls. A 20 minute drive ... But so worth it! The owner is great to work with, very helpful. Thanks for the memories!

Served it's purpose.

October 9, 2012

I planned to stay outside of Nashville, but still wanted something within reasonable driving distance. However, this place was a bit too far away if you plan to stay there and visit the city - about 1.5 hours to get door to door. It was difficult to find, despite detailed direction from the manager - so go before dark! The lake was a nice perk and accessing it was a short walk down the hill. However, the cleanliness was lacking. The fridge was dirty, the towels were musty, and I had to clean to bathrooms when I arrived. Also, the place had been vacuumed, but the vacuum hadn't been emptied in a LOOONG time, so I had to empty the canister and vacuum the floors. There was also food in the couch. I was pretty grossed out, to say the least. I did contact the owner to let them know the place wasn't up to par and nothing was done or even acknowledged. The manager did return my deposit, however. The purpose of the trip was to find a central location for my family to meet (we lived all over the country), so the purpose was served, but I wouldn't stay here again. It simply wasn't clean enough.

It was ok

September 13, 2012

The house was nice. The walk to the lake was right there and that was good. You need to watch the back. We were coming home late and there was not light to see where you were going to get in the door and both me and my step-son both fell because there was a step up and no light. Had to wash towels, etc. Never had to do that when we rented a different house. It has been a month and have not received our $100.00 deposit.

We had a great time!

July 22, 2012

This was our first family vacation as a blended family and it was perfect. The lake is right down the hill and the cabin had everything we needed and more. There was plenty to do to keep the boys busy and it is a very dog friendly area. Thanks for a great week with my family!

Didn't have an opportunity to stay here. Daughter, Stephanie would not return emails or calls, so talked to mom, Pam who rented it to us, saying a deposit of $100 was needed. We received a notice from Pay Pal that the full rental amount was requested. I spoke with Pam who said she would have Stephanie send a new invoice for the agreed amount of $100. This never came. I called Pam again and she assured me we had the weekend rented. On mother's day, Stephanie emailed me to say she had rented to someone else. Lack of communication between mother and daughter and poorly run.

This one is More than Rustic

May 4, 2012

This House is more than rustic, there was rat poison under the cabinets in the bathrooms, floors were uneven, the hot water didnt work in the master bath, and the hot tub would only go to 98 degrees. This house is not lakeside as stated. you have to cross a street and walk to the boatramp. We arrived at 1am and only stayed 1 night out of 7 we had booked.
