Reviews for this vacation home rental in Nederland, Colorado
July 19, 2011
My family rented this home for one week in July, 2011. By biggest issue with the property was that is was advertised as a 4 bedroom/sleeps 8 home for $1280/week. When I called to reserve, I was told the $1280 was for 4 people and with our 7 adults it would be $1450/week. The "gourmet" kitchen is NOT gourmet. It is very old, tiny and in desperate need of remodeling (the stove/oven is nice.) The downstairs bath is extremely old as well and the tub faucet gives lukewarm baths at best. However, the upstairs master bedroom & bath are great. It is a very cluttered home which leaves very little space to put your things. The loft area is not really a bedroom even though it is advertised as one. It has no closet for clothes or window treatments for privacy. However, it has a nice queen bed, sitting area, and great view. Good features...nice patio, large dinging room and great parking. Would we rent this home again? No!
Lots of room

We enjoyed our stay at this house; there was a lot of room. It was slightly rustic; but very clean. There were plenty of linens, kitchen supplies and lots of little homey touches. Our only complaint was the lack of internet service; but do you really need that on a vacation? Also plenty of coffee shops and library nearby supplied free wi-fi. Beautiful town; great place to stay for the price!

nice stay for the price

This is a great place for the price. Convenient and easy to get to with lots of room for your group. The only disappointment was when we realized the 4th "bedroom" is really a loft that overlooks the living room and is surrounded by windows without coverings... this made it difficult to sleep past sunrise in the loft. Other than that the place was great. Nice patio area for hanging out and dining area for meals. Enjoy your stay because we did!
Convenient but Cluttered

The house was convenient to the Fairgrounds which was a priority for our group, but very cluttered with "stuff". Downstairs bath and kitchen need updating. No trash service.
Great Vacation Spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this house. Everything we needed was at our disposal. Great location; I would recommend it to anyone.

Overall our family gathering at the Columbine Chalet was good. There were a few things small things that could have made it a 4 or 5 star stay. There was no hand soap or dishwasher detergent. There are some obvious sprucing up or updates that need to be made. A bedroom of any kind, even the loft should have some curtains or something for the windows. Most rentals have a listing of instructions regarding trash, towels, sheets ect and how the owners/managers want the place left. There were no such instructions. Like I said, overall it was good but it would have not taken much effort to make it much better.
Most Families find this home a great place for a get together. Very homey and relaxing with the wood burning fireplace!
