Reviews for this vacation villa rental in Negril, Jamaica
Albany, NY USA
Perfect for Families and Experienced Travelers
April 28, 2014
This villa is perfectly situated in a neighborhood in the heart of Negril--making both the beach and the cliffs easily accessible. There are lots of stores (markets, ice cream shop, bakery) within walking distance. And you don't feel like going out yourself Desiroi (the chef) is always willing to accommodate. The villa itself is very nice, albeit undergoing renovations while 2 new private units are being added upstairs. The only complaint we had was with the quality (read sturdiness) of the poolside umbrellas. The private pool is one of the best features of the villa. We would wake up a around 7am and lounge poolside until 10 or 11 when it was time to grab a bite to eat. Speaking of which, the villa comes with a chef who is a GREAT cook and an even greater person. He easily saved us hundreds of dollars on meals during the 8 days my boyfriend and I were there. We would give him $10-20 US in the morning and he would serve us dinner at about 7-8pm each evening on the pool deck. Dinner just happened to be our preference but he will cook you breakfast, lunch and dinner if you so desire. Also, Sophia (the housekeeper) is AMAZiING. She is very sweet, knows how to allow you to maintain your privacy, and is a font of knowledge about where to go and how to get there while in Negril. Karen is very lucky to have her. Overall, we would definitely come back and, in fact, are planning to do so in the near future.
Unique Jamaican Experience
April 27, 2014
This was a girls get away, that we thoroughly enjoyed right from our pick up at the the airport with Jazzbo, the driver. Our first day we went on the beach to Margaritaville, had the best frozen margarita ever and loved the scenery on the seven mile beach. Our entire experience was unlike anything of a resort and in a good way. We tried lots of Jamaican foods (loved the jerk chicken especially) although to narrow it down to one food is very difficult. The chef was absolutely amazing, and there was no food we didn't like. We did a day trip to rafting on the Martha Brae river which was so peaceful and relaxing, not to mention gorgeous. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Jamaica. Sophie was absolutely wonderful and would do anything to assist with anything we needed. We had a great time at Tropical Breeze Villa and i would encourage anyone looking for a true cultural / food experience to give this place a try.

Great for Family on a budget
January 23, 2014
Based on the description, pictures and reviews, we had high expectations for the Tropical Breeze Villa. Upon arriving, we had to remind ourselves that we rented a budget vacation home. Tropical Breeze is comparable to other budget accommodations - clean, but dated. Updated windows, light fixtures, interior doors & kitchen appliances along with some touch-up painting would make it more appealing (the already updated floor and bathroom tile and paint in some bedrooms look great). Located near downtown Negril has its pros (walking distance to markets, shops and the beach) and cons (rundown surroundings, smell of burning trash, dogs barking and music until early morning). The house layout worked well for an extended family. The tables on the covered front porch were more accommodating for all 10 of us and cooler than sitting inside. We didn’t use the pool much (preferred the beach), but the it was in great condition and is a nice addition to the house. The beds were in great condition and comfortable. Air conditioning kept the bedrooms pleasant at night, helped mask outside noises and dry out damp swim suits and towels. The coffee pot didn’t work, so we used the coffee press instead. We occasionally overwhelmed the electric hot water heater, so some cold showers were endured. Brighter lighting in the bathrooms would make shaving easier. The best things about Tropical Breeze are the hospitality of the housekeeper/concierge (Sophie) and the home cooking by our chefs (Terry and Wayne). Sophie’s advice was invaluable and we enjoyed visiting with her and Terry throughout our stay. We were treated to several delicious Jamaican meals that were as good, if not better than any restaurant. We all brought a little of Jamaica back home with us in the form of new friends and a few more pounds along the waistline! A destination wedding brought us to Jamaica. The rehearsal/welcoming dinner was held at the Tropical Breeze for 25 people. The cost was half of what it would have been at a restaurant on the beach, and the food was better. The pool deck worked great for mingling and dining. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and relaxing ambiance. All-in-all we left Tropical Breeze with great appreciation for what it has to offer. We recommend it for a real Negril experience, hospitality and culinary adventure, which make it better than average budget lodging. We enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to stay there again.
I arrived at Tropical Breeze the very next day after this group of people had checked out. I was not made aware of the fact that the coffee maker had broken and so i immediately replaced it as well as the kettle. The two bedrooms have been repainted in a nice bright blue colour for an "updated" look. Several of the windows have now been replaced on this trip for both soundproofing and a modernized look. As well, bathrooms were painted and new lighting installed.
it looks just like the picture.

I didn't stay at the villa, however I review the property. The staff was very nice and I viewed all four rooms. I will be staying at the property when I return. Nice size rooms and very CLEAN! That's why I wanted to see it for myself before paying my money and getting there and it looks nothing like the picture. Well this place is nice clean and the bathroom rooms where spot less and they wernt expecting me. I didn't give them much time to prepare my viewing and that wasn't my intention it just happen that way, but they impress me. Right in the hart of negril and walking distance from the beach. Great place to stay I think and they have a pool.
Beautiful villla In Negril
March 5, 2011
I recently brought the entire family for a long needed vacation to Tropical Breeze located In Negril. The property and Pool was very well maintained. The actual Villa was also spotless, with daily maid service. The Vibe on the property is very quiet and relaxing, which is why my Family prefers to stay at a Villa rather than a resort-the Privacy. Negril's seven Mile Beach is only a few minutes walk away as well as all the town's amenities. The Staff made us feel very welcome and helped to introduce and teach us about Jamaican culture. While Visiting Jamaica I would recommend others to go on the Mayfield Falls Riverwalk-which my family enjoyed and also to go Cliff Jumping /Sunset Watching at the World Famous Rick's Cafe located in Negril. Our Experince Staying on this property was very pleasant and I would reccomend others to stay here also...
"A great time was had by all!!"
March 3, 2011
"A great time was had by all!!" My family recently returned from a reunion in which we hadn't seen in each other in many years. We chose Tropical Breeze because we liked the location and the look of the pool but more importantly because we thought we would be able to thoroughly enjoy each others company in the large fully equipped kitchen as we all love to cook ( you don't have much choice growing up when you come from a large family!) We were more than happy with our choice!! The place was spotless and in a great location. Close proximity to the beach and groceries, restaurants, pretty much everything. The kitchen was as described, big, and had all the utensils and cooking ware you would ever need. The pool was definitely a highlight as we often enjoyed our meals on the spacious deck area. The staff were helpful and friendly and we would definitely recommend this villa to any group of travellers.
