An historic B&B across from Gruene Hall. Most comfortable beds in town, beautiful rooms filled with antiques, wonderful food, front porch like an outdoor living room, charming pergola in the lush garden, in the middle of shopping and festivals. Amenities include fridge in room, bathrobes, hairdryers, dressing tables, TV's, Wifi, hot tub, bike storage. Special events our specialty and can be honored with roses, chocolate covered strawberries, wine, and whatever your needs, we will try to exceed them. Minutes from water outfitters for tubing the Comal or Guadelupe, dancing at Gruene Hall. Minutes from I-35 to take you to Natural Bridge Caverns, San Antonio Riverwalk, San Marcos Outlet Malls 12 minutes away, as is Texas State University and Texas Lutheran. Across the street from the Gruene River Grill. The Oldest House in Gruene was the retirement home of Ernst and Antoinette Gruene, the original settlers. Their sons founded the Gruene Commercial district.
Gruene speaks for itself! A delightful Old West town frozen in time. Gruene Hall was built about 1878 near the original Gristmill, and still entertains visitors with some of the finest in Texas and rock music. Many now famous entertainers played Gruene Hall, and many more return regularly for CD releases and birthday celebrations. Gruene River Grill, The Tea Room, Cafe Adobe Verde, the Gristmill Restaurant, and Oma's Secret Garden are easy walking distance, as well as antique and gift shopping. Nothing is more than 2 blocks away. Join us for the Texas Metal Arts Festival, Clay Festival, Wurstfest, Gruene Market Days the 3rd weekend of the month, Gospel Brunch at Gruene Hall the same weekend, The Wine Festival, Bike races, motorcyle rallies, Christmas in Gruene from Thanksgiving till Christmas, Jerry Jeff Walkers birthday parties. We always have something fun planned! I can accomodate up to 12 people for your group, or as few as one. My rooms are the prettiest ones in Gruene according to my guests, and each one is as pretty as the next. They are comfortable, and one of my guests said it is like gong to visit with your favorite aunt.
