Willkommen- That is German for Welcome! Smack in the heart of the Texas Hill Country is New Braunfels. I have been going to New Braunfels since I was a child and love the area. Founded in 1845 by German settlers, who came in through Galveston, TX, then traveled to the area now known as "New Braunfels". It was named after Braunfels, Germany. As you stroll through the little city you will notice the German style of buildings called "fachwerk" (means half masonary, half wood) with metal roofs required by the old fire ordinance. The City hosts numerous street Fairs, which are sooooo much fun, and the fairs are surrounded with wonderful restaurants. Friesenhaus Restaurant has live German music with histories discussed on music pieces and the best Bier Garden(beer)in town. Performing arts are presented at the Brauntex Theatere. To sum it up in two words, I would say they are: relaxing, and charming. What more could one ask for. You will not meet a stranger.

We have been staying her a few years now, and love it just as much as the first time we stayed! They have recently remodeled the bathroom and kitchen, and everything looks great! Amazing location right on the river, and a great big lawn to sit, and grill! The room set-up is great for a party of 6! We had a few issues with trash being left in the room and sheets in the dryer, but I have already let the property management company know about that. Other than that, you won’t be disappointed!!

The Location is perfect to enjoy tubing or Schlitterbahn. Aside from location, I always feel that when you are renting from 'private owners', VRBO, Home Away, etc. that 50% of whether or not you enjoy your stay depends on the person managing the property. I had actually chosen another property, paid for it in advance, then 2 weeks prior to our vacation date, the owner called and said they had double-booked and cancelled our reservations. In a panic, I found this location, the owner was sympathetic and accomodating, provided me with all the info and details about the property along with some much needed reassurance. A reminder with all the details for the property was sent out again the week of the rental, allowing me to relax a little even before the vacation started. Once there, everything was just as described; the condo was well equipped, clean and comfortable. My son noted that the sofa sleeper was way more comfy than any other he had slept on. both bedrooms were spacious and well lit. Fridge was clean and kitchen had a good variety of utentsils, pots & pans, coffee machine, containers etc. The cost in comparison to many other places I had looked at was modest, I would rent from this owner again, the establishment is well managed and the description is a good representation of what you are getting. The owner is also easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. There was one drawback - the shower inthe master bedroom was very, very small - my husband is 5'6'' and very lean and it was difficult for him to bend over comfortable to wash...there is however another bathroom with a tub/shower combo as an alternative.

My son and I took my 2 grandchildren for a weeks vacation this month. The location was convenient, the condo was neat clean & well kept. We all enjoyed the jacuzzi the swimming pool as well as the river. The clear green water is just below the balcony and is literally across the street from the Schlitterban Water Park. The condo is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is furnished where you can cook a gourmet meal. There was ease of contacting the owner via telephone with quick replies.

Location! Location! Location! If you are planning to tube the Comal River and go to Schlitterbahn this is the place to stay. Had a great time and this will be our first choice to stay when we return.
WE ARE HAPPY THAT COUPLES AND FAMILIES ENJOY STAYING AT OUR TEXAS HOME WHEN WE ARE NOT THERE AND ARE WORKING/TRAVELING OURSELVES. I HAVE SUCH FOND MEMORIES SPENDING TIME IN NEW BRAUNFELS AS A YOUNG TEXAS GIRL GROWING UP IN TEXAS. THAT IS PRIMARY REASON FOR HOME OWNERSHIP AS AN ADULT, APPROACHING RETIREMENT.
