Description of the New Braunfels vacation home rental

Enjoy your vacation in this charming home nestled among the pecan trees in an historic district in Downtown New Braunfels, Texas.

Built in 1913, this beautiful home was once used as a bed and breakfast and has recently undergone major renovations to ensure you have all the conveniences of modern living blended with the charm of an old home.

The living room will make you feel right at home and includes all the modern day conveniences including cable television, entertainment/game center. In the gameroom is a foos ball table, a Wii game console and a variety of board games to be enjoyed by the kids or young at heart. The downstairs gourmet kitchen is fully furnished with all the essentials for your cooking needs. Upstairs there is a kitchenette. All bedrooms have linens and new beds for your comfort. Both front and rear yards are fenced in and pets are welcome outside.

The home is air-conditioned with an upstairs and downstairs unit, a washer/dryer are provided, and high quality towels and linens are provided. There is off-street and street parking available and a hot tub is available for your relaxing pleasure.

This house can easily accommodate a large single family or two families – one on each floor. There are two master bedrooms (one on each floor). The master suite downstairs has a private bath and outside access to the backyard/hot tub. There is an additional guest bedroom and guest bathroom downstairs and another bedroom with a single twin bed available. The upstairs has 3 additonal bedrooms, 2 additional baths, and another living area.

Centrally located, and one of only a few homes to rent in the downtown area, the home is within walking distance of the Comal River, Schlitterbahn, the McKenna Children’s Museum and Landa Park. Downtown New Braunfels offers fine dining, entertainment, and numerous activities close by. Gruene Hall, Texas’ oldest dance hall, is a short drive away and is famous for the live entertainers who sing on stage every day. Gruene also offers great shopping, restaurants and wine tasting. Lake McQueeney is a great place to water ski and is a short five minute drive, and Canyon Lake, a much larger lake is about a 25-minute drive. Want to shop? The outlet malls, Prime and Tanger, are only fifteen minutes away!

Situated between Austin and San Antonio, there are unlimited tourist attractions within a reasonable driving distance. If your vacation plans include a trip to San Antonio to visit Sea World, Fiesta Texas, the Riverwalk, Natural Bridge Caverns, or the Alamo, we are minutes from IH-35, and an easy 25-minute drive to downtown San Antonio. Austin (the State capital of Texas) is known for its live music and numerous exquisite restaurants and is only a one hour drive. And don’t forget to visit San Marcos with its famous outlet malls and the Power Olympic Whitewater Kayaking center located on the San Marcos River.

My family and I spent 10 days at the Eau Gallie house in New Braunfels. We have a great time - there were 13 of us in all (4 couples/families). The house was large with enough space for all. Especially nice was the two living room areas! A good size kitchen downstairs and a small kitchenette upstairs. Tall ceilings in the downstairs and quaint loft type bungalow rooms upstairs. And a very nice front porch with a swing as well as a sun room and open porch on the back of the property. the neighborhood was quite with the exception of my grandchildren who enjoyed the back yard. Especially nice was the ability to bring our pets and to kennel them on site in our own kennels. The house came well furnished and the inn keeper was very friendly. A binder was left for us with listings of nearby attractions and maps - they were very helpful. There are several restaurants, bars and a bakery all within easy walking distance. Modern Cuisine, Germain, Mexican, Tex-Mex and several others. Overall we had a tremendously great time. No regrets! If you have a LARGE group of people this IS the place for you. Schlitterbahn water park and Tubing on the Comal River are nearby. A great place to use as a home base while exploring all the nearby towns and treasures of the Texas Hill country!
