Large home overlooks lake from small bluff. Nestled in pine trees on double lot with mature landscaping and sloping footpath to lake. Sleeps 8 comfortably; plenty of hot water, glass front of house faces down the lake and toward the setting sun. High-quality dock and float. Lots of privacy with one "morning deck, an "afternoon flagstone patio," and long screened porch for watching sunsets on the water. Outdoor stone fireplace. Known as "the best spot on the lake." Dogs OK, but no cats, please.

Area Description

Located in New Gloucester on Sabbathday Lake across from Shaker Land. Pristine lake with superior water quality and no invasive plant species. Great bass and trout fishing. Shaker Village and Poland Spring nearby, as well as other attractions and golf resorts. A little over an hour to the coast, about 40 minutes to Portland and its fabulous shops and restaurants, 30 minutes to Freeport, 20-30 minutes to the Auburn/Lewiston area, and only about 20 minutes from the Gray Exit on the Maine Turnpike.

Public beach on lake rents paddle boats, fishing boats, row boats, and canoes. Shaker Village offers historical tours, workshops and gift shop.

My family & I have stayed at this beautiful home on Sabbathday Lake many times, and we will continue to visit every year! The serenity of the clear crisp lake is unbelievable! Whether in the morning with a cup of coffee sitting on the flagstone patio or in the evening in a kayak listening to the loons, you will not find a more relaxing place to stay for your dream vacation. The fish our boys have caught over the years always taste good cooked over the grill along with the fresh vegetables we buy at the local farmers market. There is so much to do within a short drive in all directions. This lake house is so cozy, the natural pine wood throughout gives this rustic home a real Maine charm! We can't wait to return , where we will once again be making those cherished family memories. I am sure if you stay here too you will want to return again & again!
