All bedding, linens, and towels are provided. The kitchen has everything you'd need. Of course, for those who prefer cooking in, there's a lobster pot!
Watch the constantly changing surf and lobster boats just yards away. A birdwatcher's delight! Hike along the rocks from your private access; walk to village, shops, galleries, and working harbor. Harborside dining, a lovely sandy beach, Pemaquid Lighthouse, historic sights, Monhegan Island ferry, sightseeing and excursion boats all right in New Harbor. An artist's and photographer's Paradise! July and August are high season, but don't overlook the serene beauty of spring and fall when attractions are open, prices are lower, and the scenery is fabulous.
We accept no smokers and no pets.
By the way, Marilyn is a musician (thus, Suite) and John is a retired spice and seasoning manufacturer (thus, Thyme). Welcome to Suite Thyme Carriage House!

A fifteen minute drive to Damariscotta will bring you to a larger, lovely, quaint riverside village with many shops, boutiques, restaurants, cultural activities, movie theater, and a modern hospital. Boothbay Harbor, with its myriad tourist activities (don't forget to visit the fabulous new botanical gardens), is 35 minutes away. Portland, Freeport, Rockland, Camden, Augusta, and are all within about an hour's drive.
You can do as much or as little as you want. Some folks find it very difficult tearing themselves away from Suite Thyme's deck and grounds; some indulge their wanderlust and explore our wonderful Midcoast area.
We have written our own guide book, "John and Marilyn's Favorite ThingsTo Do While Staying at Suite Thyme Carriage House", that will be on the coffee table waiting for you. Our guests have found it exceptionally helpful.

Beautiful cottage, beautiful views--all the comforsts of home. The nicest place we have EVER rented. Marilyn and John have thought of all the comforts of home. Close to Pemaquid Point, the charming town of Darmiscotta and Shaws Lobster Wharf right around the corner! Can't wait to go back.

The advertisement caught our eye, but as soon as we turned into the driveway, Suite Thyme grabbed our hearts. What a breathtaking spot, and for two whole weeks it was all ours! It was exactly as described and more. We like to travel about during our vacations, and coming back to Suite Thyme at the end of each day was like coming home. Glorious sunrises encouraged us to start each day early. The soothing waves invited us to just hang out and not want to leave the property. Watching the lobstermen, the Hardy Boat cruises go by, hiking on the rocks, and cooking our own meals soon replaced our wanderlust. John and Marilyn's personal little guide book helped us plan our activities and day trips. What a nice touch! Best vacation spot in Maine!

From the moment we came in the driveway and saw the expanse of ocean, stepped from the car and heard the crashing waves and entered an immaculate carriage house we knew we were in the right place! Wow! This is a beautiful place. We came quite exhausted from busy days and were looking for a restful place for quiet retreat. We also knew our spirits are nourished by natural sights and sounds and we needed that. We found all of that and more at Suite Thyme! Marilyn and John have provided everything that you could possibly need in a comfortable, delightfully decorated, modern, exceptionally clean, cozy carriage house. Every little convenience has been thought of! We kept marveling at that! And, everything works beautifully..from the marvelously functioning wireless internet to a great coffee pot! Within walking distance of the carriage house are beautiful places to explore and these caring owners have left a helpful book to suggest sites to visit, including restaurants and other local attractions. New Harbor is a delightful town. We kept saying that we were going to visit other nearby places but we never really wanted to leave New Harbor and Suite Thyme. Warning! One week was NOT enough! It went by too quickly and we are going to have to stay longer next time. It was just too hard pulling out of the driveway on Saturday morning and watching that rocky shore disappear from sight! We can't wait to come back!
