Reviews for this vacation b&b rental in New Orleans, Louisiana
Rustic and Rewarding
October 28, 2014
Being next to the French quarter it is an older section of town and the area reflects it. A little intimidating at first if you are used to the hotel environment but don't let that stop you. Your hosts are very fun and accommodating, the self-serve breakfast in the small but quaint kitchen has a great variety of cereals (hot and cold), fruits, yogurts, bagels, English muffins and the like to choose from and the Grand Room (where we stayed) has high ceilings, plenty of room to refresh, relax and sleep in a nice, comfy bed after a day of sight seeing or pub-crawling at the nonstop party of Bourbon Street. There are lots of neat books in the living room and adjoining bedroom reflecting the owner's tastes on a variety of subjects ranging from building architecture to travel in Egypt. A basket in the foyer just inside the front door is loaded with pamphlets and brochures left behind by past guests of local and not-so-local attractions to put plenty of variety into a visit that may have contained doubt about being able to fill all the time allotted. A five-minute walk is all that's needed to be in the middle of some of the great music and eclectic experiences you have heard of while being drawn in to why people from all over the world seek out this corner of Louisiana. Or a ten-minute walk to the Mississippi River Riverfront where loading docks once stood but is now a great park and river walk area to reflect on what a huge presence that river had in our history. Parking is on the street outside but there is always a place for you on the narrow street. But be assured, your car is safe although you may have to brush up on parallel parking. We plan to visit New Orleans again and this is where we are going to stay. For the price this is a diamond in the rough and hope you seriously consider it yourself as we would thank ourselves daily that we found this gem instead of the usual hotel routine we normally default to.

This apartment was wonderful. Very clean, well appointed, private and large! It was about 2 miles down Esplanade to the Quarter. We just drove closer in, parked and walked the rest of the way. The owner was very pleasant and easy to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone and would stay there again!

Good value and location
February 23, 2014
Our stay was enjoyable. Schuyler and David were great hosts and very knowledgeable of the area. Considering the inflated costs in NOLA these days, this BnB was great value for the money. The location was also good, we were only a couple of blocks from the quarter but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet during breakfast and down time. The continental breakfast was a nice variety of fresh fruit and bread products, cheeses, cakes, coffee, juice, cereal and the odd extra. Was plenty to go around and usually some leftover if you needed a snack later on. The tub, sink, linens and dishes were all clean and fresh...the important things! The rooms were a bit dated and could use some sprucing up, but that is not uncommon in a city like NO especially for a BnB. You are staying in their home, therefore you must be aware that they live, work, eat and sleep there. The hosts were available for us, but also stayed behind closed doors to ensure we had privacy as well; very considerate guys! All in all if you are looking to stay with "friends" for a fraction of the cost and don't expect equal accommodations to the hilton, this spot is recommended.

This place seemed bigger than I expected- I, wife, and two daughters had plenty of room. A bit fufu for my taste- I think their were about 27 pillows- but the females LOVED it! Kept exclaiming over the high ceilings, classy decor, and ornate chandeliers. Very clean and fresh! Excellent location, though I'm a bit past the Bourbon street scene. The girls went out every night, while the wife and I were content to enjoy the sumptuous accommodations and relative quiet. No complaints, I was very happy with this choice for our stay.

This is a lovely place to relax and unwind. Very clean and neat. The owners are fabulous! Woke up to coffee and breakfast. What a way to start a day! The porch swing and winding staircase were the perfect added touch to a great stay!

We stayed here for 5 days at the end of October. It is the perfect spot! Away from the noise of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, yet close enough to walk there when you want. Owners are friendly and accomodating and the bed was comfy. Will definitely stay again!

The owners never responded to my request for rental information. Did not stay at this property.
A home away from home!

David and Schuyler are the most welcoming and accommodating hosts. Anytime we had a question, they had an answer--and options (!) for us. The house is gorgeous and incredibly comfortable--we all felt completely at home the whole time we were there. It's very close to the French Quarter, so we didn't have any problems getting around at all. A lovely visit. We'll definitely stay there again on our next visit to New Orleans.
Best deal in town

This was a great find. It was very affordable and the owners were so nice and laid back. The location was great. My boyfriend, his teenage daughter and I stayed here while in New Orleans on vacation and we loved it. We stayed in the loft room which was perfect because she had a section to herself which had cable t.v. They also had a very nice pool. I can't imagine a better place to stay in New Orleans.
