Description of the New Orleans vacation home rental

Our lovely (nearly renovated from Katrina) home is a typical double shotgun built in 1894 and still enjoys most of its original architectural elements.

The first floor has a formal living room, dining room, amazing kitchen/sunroom, two bedrooms each with a queen bed, bathroom, laundry room and an outdoor shower in the garden. The sunroom overlooks the garden and has a wide-screen TV with cable and DVD. The adjoining kitchen with all up-to-date appliances is perfect for preparing great meals for a crowd and very easy for many to work in. The cozy second floor sleeps 4 in one queen and two twin beds.

Our home has a typically lush French Quarter-style garden with lots of seating, a BBQ grill, and a wonderful outdoor hot shower. We fell in love with outdoor showers at the beach, bathing under the stars. Here in New Orleans the experience is truly tropical--we love the palms, bird of paradise and other tropical foliage all the while listening to the wind chimes and the birds.

If you are looking for a delightful New Orleans experience, I think you will find our home perfect. As we have lived in New Orleans for many years, we have a wealth of local knowledge that will help you enjoy your stay even better.

Special Events: $400/night (max 8 persons) for JazzFest, French Quarter Fest, Southern Decadance, VooDoo Fest, Tulane & Loyola Graduation Weekends
Mardi Gras: $600/night (max 8 persons)

Our home is an easy walk to the St. Charles Avenue streetcar and all the parades. It is located one block off trendy Magazine Street with miles of gift, dress and antique shops, restaurants galore, and specialty shops like our favorite Boulangerie, Martins Wine Cellar and the Big Fisherman (seafood store.) From our house you can walk to most things and can take the Magazine Street bus to everything else.
