This cottage was just the thing my son and I needed for the Thanksgiving weekend. The interior was cozy and inviting, and the location was perfect for exploring New Paltz and the neighboring environs. The fact that you can bring your dogs with you is a real plus. We would stay here again definitely.

My husband and I happily discovered this perfectly charming rental for our fifth-year wedding anniversary. Our trip was lovely, and much due in part to the beautiful and luxurious Hideaway. The waterfall was scenic, relaxing, and atmospheric (our french bulldog agreed!), and every detail one can imagine was considered. Clean, cozy, with well-placed accents and art, adorable down to the cupboard handles and light fixtures, we delighted in a true home away from home. Games, books, cookies, and selection of teas were provided, as well as a fully equpped kitchen, plush bathrobes and towels, even a nifty soap designed to look like a beautiful rock! We ate at both The Bear Grill and Red Onion, snacked on mango lassis and samosa late night from the local indian restaurant, all so yummy! Woodstock itself has fun shops and plenty of organic fare, I even stumbled across a candle store I was last at when I was five years old! The gallery downstairs features local artists, truely a gem of a location! We will definatly return, perhaps for one of the many film and art festivals we learned Woodstock is famous for, and when we do we will fill up the gorgeous tub at the Hideaway, pour a glass of wine, and listen to the mesmerizing tempo of that magical waterfall!

Heidi is an amazing host, simply put. My girlfriend and I went up to the Cottage for a weekend away. I proposed to her after our first night in the cottage - Heidi was in on the plan the entire time. She left us a wonderful batch of chocolate covered strawberries and a beautiful card. The cottage is about 6 miles from the center of New Paltz; a convenient 10-12 min drive. We will certainly be back to enjoy the country, the mountains, the town, and a great host. I highly recommend this property. GP

A wedding in the family is a joyous, but stressful, event, when everyone travels from all points to gather at the Mohonk House for the reception. Although there are dog-friendly motels in the area, I was looking for something more comfortable and I found exactly what we wanted in Heidi Reagan's charming cottage, tucked away from the hustle & bustle, yet close enough to the church & Mohonk House. Heidi is a most gracious host and made us comfortable in her cozy, rustic and artistic accommodations. Her cottage is a short drive from the NY Thruway, yet sheltered from the frenzy of traffic congestion. Thanks to Heidi, we had a stress-free weekend.

An incredibly charming cottage in the woods with everything one would need. Perfect in every way. Close to town, restaurants, parks, lots of hiking options, wineries, orchards, craft village. Not to mention the fantastic hostess who was incredibly helpful with directions and suggestions on what to do and had a plethora of tourist information, maps, etc on-hand. I have already scheduled my next trip back.

My dog and I had a incredibly relaxing week at the cottage. The innkeeper was a lovely host and made sure all of our needs were met. The space was exactly as the description implied, and everything we needed to make ourselves at home was at hand. I now know that I have a home away from home whenever I need it.

My husband, son and 2 labs stayed in Heidi's cozy cottage and it was just perfect for us! Comfortable and perfectly located to town and Mohonk Mountain House. Our plans were to go on lots of walks and hikes (perfect location for that) and to have lots of good places to eat (we were very close to town). Heidi is wonderful in providing any help you need, but 100% respects your privacy! We can't wait to go back!

We recently rented this lovely cabin for a girls getaway in New Paltz. It was so homey- handpainted cabinets and a beautiful artwork. I am very excited to return!

The owner of the cottage is very friendly and the size of the cottage was fine. When we arrived however, there was a very strong odor which I attributed by mustiness and the presence of dogs. I spent 2 very itchy nights. I worried about either fleas or bed bugs because when I turned on the lights I couldn't find anything in the bed. I assumed the worst (bed bugs) and took the necessary precautions regarding my return home so as to not infest my home.

My girlfriend and I went to New Paltz to go hiking and stayed at this cottage. Very quiet area, and close to town and the natural parks. Heidi was very friendly and helped us with local information. Definitely recommended!

This one BR, LR, kitchen/dining cottage was exactly as described and pictured. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean, ground floor entrance (important for our older dog!) and nice yard with easy parking. We met relatives and cooked dinner in the small but adequate kitchen for the 4 of us. They did not stay over. We only did one night but would consider a longer stay in the future. Close to New Paltz and other Hudson Valley attractions and towns. We hiked late afternoon in a local park which the owner recommended; we never would have found this local spot without her!

What a quite private little treat of a home. Small yes,but comfy and cozy. Close enough to drive to almost everything in ten minutes, yet surrounded by woods. Heidi was a gracious host who greeted us with smiles and flowers. Thanks!!!!!

Heidi was very kind and welcoming. We appreciated her gracious hospitality. The house is cozy and fun and Heidi gave us full reign of the backyard for our dog. We'd definitely go back!

We had a great time. Heidi is very welcoming and helpful. She is there when you need her for input about the area, but ensures you have enough privacy to relax and unwind. She was very welcoming to our family (2 year old son and 2 small dogs). They had a great time running around the yard and playing in the leaves. Although the October weather was touch and go there for awhile---everything worked out just fine. The cottage is a great place to relax and unwind...and get away from the everyday "chores" at home----yet still feel like your at home..... We're hoping to return next year! Thanks for everything Heidi!! Loved it!!

Actually, smitten with my girlfriend in Long Island. I wanted a quiet, quaint retreat for two ( + wee 'lil Pug dog ) where I could meet Laura in the "middle of the road". This cottage exceeded expectations. This was our first Groundhog Day celebration together which we truly enjoyed despite our stuffed animal 'chuck, named Carl, (after Bill Murray's devout role in Caddyshack )seeing his shadow next to the cottage. Great base cottage for exploring the 'Gunks, gum-shoeing New Platz's shops and then lounging around afterwards. Just terrific.

A beautiful little find right outside New Paltz, with all of the comforts needed for an experience to explore this great area. Heidi is a warm and gracious host, with a cool eye for design, too! Thank you!

We had a great stay. Nice comfy bed with soft sheets - great after a day of hiking or biking. And our dog felt right at home. Very bohemian, artsy feel to the place -fits in with the New Paltz "vibe" -a nice retreat. Heidi and Lou are very welcoming hosts. A little small but just fine for 2 and a dog. Love the hand made soap!

Firstly this cottage is super dog friendly, and when owning a german sheperd who is a litlle rambunctious, that is super important! Heidi, who lives in the main house is delightful and very informative and helpful if you need. I liked that the cottage was a little off the beaten track and that you felt kinda isolated without the isolation! Not super fancy or anything so if you want a hotel environment then its definitely not the place. Loved it!

This cottage has all the amenities and this amazingly artistic decor - the kind that just warmly invites you to "come in, relax, enjoy!" I needed a getaway to do my work and have some fun, be in nature, enjoy nearby towns and relax. THis is perfect. Heidi is a thoughtful host, helping out when needed, careful of your privacy when not. A great place to stay, and come away feeling completely renewed and refreshed!

My husband and I have been visiting New Paltz for many, many years always staying at the Super 8, considering it is the only decent hotel in town. I wish we would have found this cottage sooner. We have children now and the cottage truly is the perfect place for a family or even just a couple. It is spacious and you truly feel at home. Heidi, the owner was more than accomodating, even bringing us the paper Sunday morning. The cottage is in a great location, right in the center of all New Paltz has to offer. The cottage is nestled in "the forest" as my 4yr. old son liked to call it, which was beautiful with fall foliage . Can't wait to visit again! Oh and forgot to mention cheaper than the area hotel rates in the fall!

My family went here for a long weekend in October and it was just the perfect lil cottage for us to unwind and just be with each other to relax. We had a brand new baby and my four year old daughter who still talks about the "cottage"..the amenities were perfect and there is something for everyone to be enchanted with New Paltz. My husband still talks about how soft the sheets were and it inspired us to build a cute garden in our back yard! The small touches of artistic decorations really made the stay special and one we will remember. Our weather was a bit iffy in October, colder than expected but we still enjoyed the weekend and the owner is very helpful she gave us great ideas of what to see and where to go in town with children. It is a place we will definitely return.
. . . Our visit could not have been better. Clean, comfortable and close to all activities. This was the perfect choice for us. Plenty of room for two (larger than many city apartments!)
