Description of the New Port Richey vacation cottage rental

Scenic and charming cottage style home next to a small park along the scenic Cotee River. Return to a simpler place when Florida's lifestyle meant time in the sun, relaxing on a bench and "watching the river flow". Our comfortable home was built during the "Roaring 20's" by an Northern investor who entertained film stars and politicians at his Southern home. The Sunroom, with its Art Deco glass windows and doors, looks out into the park with its bandstand,oak trees and walkways along the meandering river. Watch manatee and dolphin follow the current inland while gulls chase schools of fish beneath the sky colored water. Walk into town for a leisurely breakfast with the locals. Our new library is also within walking distance as are bars and restaurants for later in the day. There are chairs to sit on under a covered porch. The sun warmed, honey colored Dade County pine floors shine beneath your bare feet. This is a place to relax in, read a book in a quiet, sunny corner and fall into a nap.

Area Information

The Cotee River flows into the open Gulf Of Mexico where fishermen can rent small boats or sign on with charters. Nearby Lake Tarpon has great Bass fishing too. For Golfers there are numerous courses both in Pasco County and adjacent Pinellas County including world famous Innisbrook Country Club. Like antiquing? Visit the shops in nearby Tarpon Springs or drive to larger, open air flea markets a little further away. The Veterens Parkway will wisk you into Tampa for Ybor City's night life, the Florida Aquarium or Busch Gardens with its theme & water parks. Lovely beaches are around 20 minutes away by car and there are numerous county, state and city parks to explore within an easy drive. A sightseeing boat, the Miss Daisy, will take you up the Cotee River past the mansions built by filmstars from the early days of Hollywood when this forgotten little town almost became America's film capitol. Perhaps you'd rather just bake in the sun! A little to the South of New Port Richey are beautiful Caladisi and Honeymoon Islands with their sandy beaches and wildlife habitats. Our Cottage style home is near shopping areas also and about a 1 hr drive from Tampa International Airport.
