Description of the New Smyrna Beach vacation home rental

Built in 1949, our second home is a relaxing escape, experience old Florida charm with modern amenities.

Tongue and groove pine walls and heart of pine floors through out the home. The large country kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances, burled beach counters and front loading HE washer and dryer hidden in the bar.

Lovingly remodeled with attention to every detail. Each piece of furniture was picked for it's space to be warm and welcoming.

The living room is inviting and comfortable with lots of space to relax and watch the large TV with Sony home theater system. We also have free unlimited local and long distance telephone calls. (US and Canada)

The master bedroom or "Captain's Quarters" has the romantic feel of days gone by with 400 thread count linens, a 32" flat screen TV with HD/DVR cable and DVD along with high speed wireless internet connection. (Wireless card needed.)

The "Key West" bedroom is bright, lively and fun, with 400 thread count bed linens and a 27 in. SDTV flatscreen with cable and DVD.

The "Surf Shack" has a tin ceiling, white washed walls and twin pine beds with designer bed linens. Enjoy playing the PS2, or watching cable TV in this too cool room, dude.

Beautiful, serene and private, 200 steps from the beach. Our large treed lot with more than 30 palm trees is fully fenced in back for privacy and storage for your boat, motorcycle or what ever you want kept off the street. Make smores on the fire pit, just relax in the Adirondack chairs and watch the fire or rock your cares away in our new hammock. A white picket fence surrounds the front for quaint beach charm, enjoy the view from the porch rocking chairs.

We have beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach toys and life jackets included for our guests stored in our garage along with the gas grill. And to clean off all of the beach sand that follows you home...an enclosed outdoor shower next to the back screened porch.

Yes, we fell in love. Not with each other, but with New Smyrna and the Palm Cottage! Truly an "old Florida" vacation town and a peaceful getaway in this beautifully restored cottage. Spacious, spotlessly clean and with every amenity we needed. Loved the firepit, the screened porch and the top-of-the-line appliances, linens and furnishings. Our family of 5 was completely comfortable here with plenty of TV/DVDs (and written operating instructions!) for evening relaxing, a nice, non-wobbly ceiling fan in every room, beautiful decor throughout and a fully furnished kitchen. Our hosts were most gracious and accommodating; they were pleasant and available without being pushy or demanding. All instructions were in writing, so expectations were clear. Very professional and reasonable rental contract. On a quiet street 1.5 blocks from the beach and so nice to be on a corner lot with a wooded vacant lot next door. We not only want to move to New Smyrna, we want to live in Palm Cottage!
