Time at the top

Beautifully appointed. Instructions very clear. Loft not used as (a) not ventilated and (b) accessible only with difficulty by the renters. No other issues. Lovely spot!

Owner's reply:

Loft is typical cabin design, wide open to the main floor below on one side and large picture windows on the other. Loft ventilation is by natural air convection due to completely open side and opening at loft floor running the entire length of fixed picture windows. Access to the loft is not by stairs but via a permanently fixed ladder as shown in images. Use of the loft requires the ability of the renter to use a ladder.

Beyond description

When we reached the cabin after a long day's drive, we left our vehicle and stood in awe at the view. We were no less overwhelmed when we entered the cabin and found a beautifully appointed and decorated home. It was everything we had hoped for, even more so, and it was difficult to leave when our stay was finally over. My husband and I both loved the cabin as well as its location.

"We had a great time at the cabin celebrating our first wedding anniversary, The cabin and surrounding area was just as we remembered. This year we hiked Wheeler Mt., Haystack, Mtn., and Bald Mt.(returned from last year). "...Our two daughters loved the campfire, swimming at both ends of Lake Willoughby, exploring the beaver habitat at Newark Pond, and playing in the stream where the sliding rocks are. We even spent a pleasant day escaping the rain by teaching them to play Othello and bake bread. Many thanks for the fabulous get-away from Manhattan."

"One work Incredible ! I feel my soul has been cleaned from all the beauty these eyes have seen, from the mountains, to the flycatcher with her nest on the top of the motion light, to the deer who lay alone in the grass at the bottom of the hill most mornings, to the grouse who parades through her 4 chicks down hill to the grasses. I feel blessed to have been able to stay here, Thanks for the view ! P.S. The cabin is awesome! "

" Gary - we appreciate the opportunity to rent your off grid cabin on the mountain. It was exactly what we were looking for. We arrived in the rain and were so happy to come into your cabin home. All the directions you gave us to get here and about the cabin were so helpful and everything ran smoothly. The view is spectacular and watching the sun come up over the mountain in the morning is breathtaking. We had the most amazing adventures exploring the North East Kingdom by traveling back roads, We came across so much more unexpected beauty and many photo opportunities. Rolling farmlands, mountains, lakes, of course, waterfalls, animals...Everything we needed was here at your beautiful cabin and surrounding area. We experienced incredible beauty, fun, adventure, peacefulness + rest. You are blessed and fortunate to have this place, as I'm sure you know, and we feel blessed and fortunate to have stayed here."

"We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to spend our third wedding anniversary at your beautiful cabin ! Being out here in the quietness of nature is such a stark difference from our lives in the city - we surely want to take back everything that we have learned by being here. Thank you for opening up and sharing this place with people like us - strangers who will came and go, but who will remember this place for the rest of their lives."
