Amazing as always!

We stay at Blackberry Hill every year in the spring. A retreat for artists and musicians and their off spring! The house has every thing for all age groups, an amazing view, enough room for everyone to have their own space, pool, ping-pong, chess, and just across the street from quiet and lovely Moolack Beach with amazing tide pools. We will return next year!

Great Home with Amazing View

This home was perfect for our large family gathering - 5 adults and 4 kiddos. We all enjoyed the amenities very much. Our only suggestions were left on a note on the table -- didn't think everyone really needed to know what we had to say but hoped owners/agency would definitely see the need.

Had high hopes

We went here with some family to celebrate our son's 3rd birthday. At first arrival, we were all blown away by the beauty of the house and it's surroundings. However, as we spent more time, we began to feel that our vacation was not as hoped. The house is on a well, and one day we actually ran out of water! My mom had to cart bottled water into the shower to finish. When the water truck arrived, we were told this house actually shares a well with a other house. So, no matter how much we heeded the numerous warnings posted on the house, we were not in control of saving water. And speaking of warnings and directions, they are posted envoy where. I can understand posting general rules, however, we felt very much on edge the whole time, being warned that "they had pictures of everything in the house" so it would be known if we took something. The property is amazing; however, it is not relaxing as you are always making sure to follow all the rules, conserve all your water (a family of 9 would not have enough water), and make sure not to leave with anything.

Heather & all guests ~ This is an incredible home! As with many homes on the coast, it does, however, use well-water. When the season goes on into summer, the well understandably gets low. We have water brought in on a scheduled basis to replenish the well…and meet all our guests’ needs.
Most important we want ALL our guests to enjoy their visit, love our home and see all there is to see on this fabulous Oregon coast. We hope that simply being careful of water use would not override the whole big picture.
“Shared” use of the water well was inaccurate information given to you.
Posted information is for your ease and knowing how to deal with all potential situations. Guests will see from pics where items return to, housekeeping will know how to put all back in place ~ and yes, we’ll know what’s missing. Sadly, Heather, THAT happens often, too. Our homeowners trust us all with their valuable and incredible home, which is a personal labor of love. We want it & all accessories left for all our guests to enjoy and be here for the owners’ return. Use the signs as applicable ~

We Will Definitely Be Returning!

We have stayed at many luxury homes along the Oregon Coast, and none of them can rival this lovely home! Amazing views from great room, and all three bedrooms! - all the while the soothing purr of the ocean is constant in the background. We were there just before the "big" storm and enjoyed days of sun, and days of showers - each spectacular in their own dimension. The owners have thought of all the creature comforts to make this a splendid respite. The kitchen is so workable with all the extras, - Emeril would love it. Blackberry Hill is very private - yet you are minutes away from the shopping, restaurants and fishing activities of Newport and the Central Coast. Beautifully decorated and cared for by the owners. They obviously take great pride in this property. in addition, they are delightful to work with - very helpful! Like us, you will find yourselves blessed should you take the opportunity to spend a holiday at Blackberry Hill. We shall certainly return!

Blackberry Hill Visit

Overall it was a pleasant stay. Plenty of towels, plenty of space (seriously you could have a family reunion here) and a pretty good location. My biggest complaint was the water; it was a little soft and salty, but not awful. I do suggest the owner check up on some of their appliances, no significant problems but there were some bugs so to speak. It was a great place to stay overall.

This is a fantastic home to share with family and friends. Our family of 6 was very comfortable in this home. Plenty of room to stretch out and visit and the 4 bathrooms made it easy to get ready in the mornings. Open floorplan is wonderful for evening gatherings of visiting, laughing, and sharing the days experiences. The deck is a great place to have a morning cup of coffee while watching the waves. If you get a chance while you are visiting take in the whale watching tours and try the tuna fishing. Our boat caught 65 tuna the day we went out. We would recommend Yaquina Bay Charters. It was a wonderful time had by all!!

Three families & kids (ages 5,15, 19) comfortably stayed in this gorgeous log home. Windows floor to ceiling overlooking the ocean were spectacular from the 8 person dining table and living room area with the gas fireplace. We took walks in the tall pines and flew kites on the beach across the street. The house had all the amenities we needed, as well as Wi-fi access. The only drawback was the well water had a sulfur smell and the electricity went out for a couple of hours. The rental manager, Hannah, jumped right on both problems and showed up with lanterns and chlorine. We will definitely stay there again. We loved Blackberry Hill!!

We absolutely loved the view from this house. We had 6 adults and two kids. There was a lot of space and enough bathrooms for each couple to have one. I would recommend this property to anyone. You can't beat the price or the location! The only issue we had were some black ants in the house. Other than that, it was awesome!

whoever decorated this log home really took time and done an amazing job all the pieces were perfect,would have liked to take it all home lol. good job we had a great time pool and ping pong table was fun even at our age.water was only issue, but not enough that we wouldnt recommend it or come back the cost very reasonable.

Was a very nice house, beautiful view and all the ammenties are there. There are two singles, one queen and one king. There is a futon downstairs, in the party room, but noone wanted to sleep down there, it's too cold and isn't a bedroom. The other couple stayed on the couch upstairs. Would be a great place to have a summer gathering, as it's got a lot of outdoor space and is very private. The house is roomy and very open and inviting. The deck is great and has a gorgeous view of the ocean. There are lots of games and a pool/ping pong table and a giant chess set. It's a very nice place. We will definitely go back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and the occomodations were nice. We were suprised to find many more ammenities than were listed, small things that made a big difference. We will definately use this rental property again!!

Overall our trip was great. Few glitches here and there. Negatives: Internet didn't work. Property management sent someone right over to reset the router and modem with no luck. They were a little slow in contacting the homeowner to resolve, but once homeowner found out she conf. called us in with Quest Communications. Turns out the modem was bad, so no internet access all week. Would have been fine had we not planned on using internet for work and to search activities. Property management was okay, but some reps were more helpful than others. Could use better satellite subscription. Not there to watch TV, but a little CNN or some music channels would have been nice. And could use a CD player in the game room. Positives: Awesome view. Watched sunset nearly every night from the deck. Moolack beach was perfect for kids. Lots of sand as long as tide was out. Perfect walking distance. Blackberries everywhere! Kids loved to pick them. Was able to make a fresh blackberry pie out of them. House was generally in good condition and safe for two 2-year-old kids running around. Large rooms, especially the master. Nice game room and nice washer/dryer. If it had not been for the wifi not working, I would have rated a five star. We loved it and would go back again. Best restaurant we ate at: Saffron Salmon, Bayfront area. Liked the brewery, too.

This house has a great view and was spacious. The beach across the street was beautiful. Our only complaint is that we specifically chose a house with cable so that we could watch World Cup games, but the house did not even have ESPN.

We really enjoyed staying at Blackberry hill. The house was great and ocean views beautiful. Everything we needed was there, except for a hair dryer. Fully equipped kitchen was fun to use. Dishwasher could use a little "oomph" -- we had to hand wash the silverware but that's not a big deal. All in all, I would recommend this as a lovely spot, right across the street from Moolack Beach, with lots of room and nice amenities. Peaceful location with a big table for gathering around and sharing a meal. Good place. Bathrooms were nice too, especially the big tub. Note that Moolack beach is not handicapped accessible. You have to climb down a small hill and walk over some rocky areas to get to it, but if I can do it (with hubby's assistance) most people will be able to.

The house was very spacious and beautiful-the beds were nice and firm and we enjoyed all the facilities such as ping pong, pool, etc. We wanted to play darts but they were broken. The view is gorgeous and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch relaxing. The path to the beach was across a major highway and was longer than I expected. The beach itself was a bit disappointiing as there was large stones and some rubbish, not really conducive to lie on. Overall though it was very enjoyable. The cost was a little high especially the $150 cleaning fee; perhaps, that should be based on the number of days that you stay there and not be a fixed amount. We only stayed two nights

Great house! Everything you need for a wonderful weekend. Rental company was hard to book with. Lots of space, and amazing views. Great game room and great having four full bathrooms! House temperature was very warm. Wish the cleaning fee wasnt so expensive. Highly recommended!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Blackberry Hill home. It was spacious and provided plenty of room for all 8 of us. The 4 bathrooms made it easy for us to all get ready for our days activities without delay. The pool table provided hours of entertainment and fun for the entire group. Better directions to the house would have been appreciated

Beautiful Home with fantastic ocean views. Home was clean & nicely appointed with a great game room. Only one problem - Water! Guests need to bring bottled water for drinking. This would not stop us from returning - we would like to come again next year. Had a wonderful time - Thank You!

Perfect in every way

We had a lovely Christmas vacation in this gorgeous house, and definitely plan to come back. The ocean view is impressive, and the owner was thoughtful enough to send us a link regarding whale watching. There's plenty to see and do nearby, if you can drag yourself away from the comforts and beauty of this house. We particularly enjoyed fossil hunting on the beach across the street.

A week at Blackberry Hill

The home is beautiful with lovely furnishings and views. The downside for beachcombers is that you have to cross HWY 101 to access the beach which is not ideal - especially with children. The owners are very responsive. The property management company was frustrating at the very least. Newport is so centrally located we were able to take in a glass blowing class, visit the lighthouse, take a hike and explore the tide pools with starfish without traveling more than 20 miles. We didn't have time to watch the whales or go clamming but would have had easy access. Staying in this location was a BIG plus for those activities. You will enjoy time at this home.

The location is great, the view is wonderful and the house is gourgous! Loved the Lincoln Log house. Our family had a memorable stay. This house is across the street from Moolak beach which is good for agate hunting and running on the beach in the morning. The beach has a great view of the lighthouse.

This is a beautiful house with an even more beautiful view!! The beach is just down the driveway allowing us to just walk out and enjoyed our morning runs on the sand. Close distance to everything in Newport. We shared the house with 2 other couples and it was perfect for spending time with them in a home enviornment instead of renting separate motel rooms and it was more economical. The kitchen is well stocked with all you will need to cook and eat a meal so don't waste space packing your own. The entire home has tile floorcovering which made cleaning before our departure a breeze. Good idea for a rental house!! I cannot say enough good things about this new home on the beach with it's breath-taking views. Bring a jacket this time of year. The breeze on the beach can be chilly!! I'm sure you will enjoy your stay!
