We had a great stay at this beach house rental. The house and its access to the ocean were perfect for my family. It was a great place to acommodate our three Oregon children and their families and my wife and I, who live in Ohio. We'll certainly look at Ocean Odyssey again for our beach house rental.

We just finished a mini family reunion at Whalebones. The location was easy to find and it was nice to be close to Newport, yet have your "own" space out of the hustle of town. The owners were very personal and easy to work with. Our family of 11, with ages all the way from 5-65, enjoyed the comfortable size of the house and found the house to be well stocked from the kitchen to toys for the kids. The living room became a great place for us to gather and play games together. We enjoyed tons of time on the beach, including the tidal pools and easy walks in both directions. We used the trail to the beach daily many times. The view was beautiful!! We would love to come back to Whalebones!!!

We would like to thank our hosts for a week of beautiful views, family fun, serenity, great beach time, and a wonderful way to experience the Oregon Coast! The home was plenty large enough for our family of 14, adults and children alike truly enjoyed our vacation. Everything in the home was great, easy to find, easy to use, just an absolute joy for our whole family. We enjoyed the property so much we did not spend much time in town, instead opting for board games and beach time with our children and grandchildren. No problem up and down the hill to the beach, even our 3 year old enjoyed that adventure. Thank you again for a wonderful vacation experience, we will be back. The McCrory's

Relaxing, spacious home--perfect place to spend a weekend with family. Loved the roomy kitchen, huge living room, and patio complete with view and firepit. Beach access only for the most agile. Nicola was very responsive and easy to work with.

The view from the house was awesome! We needed a place to rent in Newport during our stay for our daughter's wedding. We rented Whalebones because it had an ocean view and enough space for several people (8 adults in our group) so we did not have to worry about being on top of each other. The house definitely needs some updating inside and out but with that updating it would be a great place for a large family or group. Did I say the view from the house was awesome? We were disppointed that the fireplace did not work, the floor coverings needed replacement and that there was no direct beach access, but we did manage to get to the beach and find some agates and cool rocks. The house was comfortable, well-equipped and the laundry area was handy to keep clothes clean. I would rent Whalebones again the next time we have a large group getting together in Oregon.

Extended family stayed at Whalebones for 3 nights/4 days. This was a great value and the house had plenty of room. We should have asked for a little more detail on what was stocked there and what wasn't, as we had to run get some essentials. Not a big deal though. Owner communication was great and I would definately recommend it. One bad thing - but we knew it ahead of time - is that the trail to the beach is very difficult to get down and back up. Access is a short drive away though.

I think our family has finally found an ocean rental that works for us. Whalebones was PERFECT! it was extremely roomy, the beds were especially comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the ocean views from the entire west side...beautiful! We enjoyed fireplace and candlelight in the evening in the very comfortable living room. There was abundant room for a large group to dine, which we do not always find. There were games everywhere and we found plenty to do during a very stormy stay. I particularly enjoyed dealing with the owners who were gracious and accomodating. They addressed our needs and made us feel that nothing was an inconvenience. We ARE going back!!

We loved the location of this home! The surroundings and location couldn't have been better. The house could stand a little TLC, but for the price, we were very happy with it. The owner was nice to work with.

we chose Whalebones to have a reunion with our siblings and their spouses. It proved to be a marvelous week for all of us. Our expectations were definitely surpassed. We cooked for 12, and everything was there that was needed. The house is so spacious and comfortable. The views were grand and the beach walks super. Nobody was ready to leave after a week there. We must come back for more!

What a great place. The location was perfect and the view outstanding. The house was comfortable and peaceful. We could not locate the binoculars or telescope in the house, but saw whales even without them. The beach below the house was perfect for playing in the sand, chasing waves and beachcombing. We had a wonderful trip and my 4 year old would like to make a copy of Whalebones so that we can live there. Thanks so much for a truly wonderful experience. We would return to Whalebones again.

Perfect for our needs. Beautiful view, kid friendly! Comfortable, basic house, good beds, basics supplies. Going down to the beach from the house great fun and challenge. Easy access right down the road. Nice smaller tide pools. Hoping to go back next year. Thank you

Our family absolutly loved this home. We were there for over a week and we never felt like we had left our own home. It was clean and very comfortable. The veiw of the ocean was great and we did find the hidden trail to the beach. The kids loved it and even my wife and I one really nice evening decided to take a late night after dark walk on the beach. Aflash light and trinkets to mark are way helped us find our way back home. Theres plently of room and we had many meals there with approximatly 15 to 20 people attending. We look forward to staying there again and hope your stay will be as memorable as ours

This home was much larger than expected and had an amazing view of the ocean. The weather was great all weekend, so we had plenty of beach walking just below the home. We got plenty of crabbing time since Yaquina Bay was a short drive away. This was a great place to stay for a family vacation and the price was well worth it. I'll definitely return.

Whale Bones is a great place to relax, watch whales, and stormy weather through beautiful views in Newport; fireplace; and room for family and friends. Located near restaurants, light house and tide pools, quiet beach for strolling and beachcombing.

We had a delightful time - were warm and comfy - all 10 of us, including little people of 5, 3, & 2. We watched a few movies, played games, had a fire in the fireplace - created some scrumptuous meals - and simply enjoyed ourselves together. It was close to shopping of all kinds and the storms even abated enough that we had a very cold but wonderful walk on the beach. Thank you.
