Description of the Newport vacation home rental

Magnificently situated ocean front home on a peninsula so it has water views from every window. Walk to the beach from the back door, 200 feet away! Lots of space and privacy as it is on a double waterfront lot. Central air conditioning, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 living rooms, gas fireplace turns on instantly, sunroom, large dining room, kitchen, patio and 2 car garage. Fabulous views. 2053 SF of living space. Stone and brick outdoor fireplace that takes charcoal or wood. Quiet no outlet street so no traffic. Private beach is bordered by conservation land. Small sandy beach with seashells. Small fist size smooth rocks at the water's edge tapering horizontally after about 20 feet to a smooth sandy bottom. Recommend aqua socks or fisherman's sandals. Newport mansions are 8 miles away and all the clams and lobster you will love is served at the nearby restaurants. Flo's Clam shack is listed as "Best of RI" in Rhode Island magazine. On Park Ave. in Island Park, it less than one mile. Peaceful, no outlet street. Our Newport county home in Portsmouth is taking reservations for Summer 2012. This is the second home of a professional and we take credit cards so you can rent without worry.

Newport's Guilded Age Mansions such as The Breakers, summer home of the Vanderbilts, The Elms, Doris Dukes summer home "Rough Point" and Rosecliff where they filmed "The Great Gatsby" Don't leave RI without seeing these!

Golf at Montaup Country Club, almost within walking distance. Non member green fees are $40. and the cart is $36. They have a web page but this system doesn't allow it to be posted.

Island Sports for tours and kayak rentals

Nearby wineries have free jazz concerts

U pick berry farms, fun with the children

Formal children's park at the end of the street

We do not have an outdoor shower, but there is a hose on the side of the house for rinsing off the sand at the end of swimming or shelling.

You will enjoy sleeping with the sound of the sea!

The rates quoted include a 3% discount for cash or checks.

One dog OK, no cats or smokers.

Has internet access if you wish to bring your laptop.

The original Flo's Clam shack ( noted as 'Best of RI' in Rhode Island monthly) is less than one mile

Children's park with playground equipment and swings is at the end of the street. Golf at Montaup Country Club nonmember greens fees $40 and $36 for the cart. Small sandy beach; lay down your towel or blanket and sunbathe. Water's edge has smooth fist sized rocks tapering after about 20 feet horizontally to a smooth sandy bottom under the water, Recommend aqua sox or fishermans sandals for swimming. The waves are calm and safe for our child.

When comparing houses, ask if it has window unit air conditioning ( the most common in RI) or central a/c. You will appreciate the difference.

We were so happy with our choice !!! The neighborhood was fantastic, we had a little one with us and we were always going on walks. The neighbors were friendly. The location was close to Providence (our son lives there) and Newport beaches. Although we had a beach in our back yard , it was unpleasant because the mosquitos were biting. The house was PERFECT !! Pleantly of room, we ate in every night. Dining room dinner time was our favorite. It says 4 bedrooms,but we travel with an air mattress, and next to one bedroom is another empty room, we chose to use our air mattress there so our boys did not have to both sleep in the same room. It worked out perfect. Highly reccomend !!!!

Comfortable & Quiet

With three separate living/sitting areas, a large dining room, kitchen & bath on the first floor and 4 bedrooms and bath upstairs, this spacious home would be ideal for a family reunion or large family gathering. Lots of outdoor space for games (volleyball, etc.) and the private beach 200 feet away. Close enough to the "tourist" places but secluded on it's peninsula surrounded by the bay on one side and Sakonnet River on the other. The central air was a welcoming addition on a particularly humid day.

Away from it all

Absolutely lovely. The house is bigger than it appears. Very comfortable nicely kept grounds. The best was sleeping and waking up to an ocean view and coffee in the morning with the ocean breeze. Quiet and away from it all. My family and & I enjoyed our vacation there. the grocery stores and the bank are easy to get to. We just loved it and would highly recommend staying here.
