Description of the Niort vacation cottage rental
Sleeps 2.The upper floor has 2 single beds and a shower/toilet room.The kitchen area has an electric hob with oven,fridge and dining facilities.
We can supply an extra bed for a child and also a cot and high chair.We do supply bed linen but ask that you bring your own towels.A washing machine is available for use.The cottage has its own self contained garden with BBQ and garden furniture.
We do not operate a set changeover day so that people can travel mid week.Hopefully we can accommodate your needs.

Area Information
CHARENTE MARITIME is famous for the many varieties of goat's cheese produced,shaggy Poitiou donkeys and an amazing variety of birdlife.
Nearby is Cognac where you can tour the many distilleries,large and small and sample the brandy and the local aperetif Pineau.Also at Cognac is the meandering Charente river where river tours can be arranged.
LA ROCHELLE is 45 mins drive and is where you can sample delicious seafood at outdoor cafes and wander the narrow streets.There are many good sandy beaches nearby.
FUTUROSCOPE-the park of the moving image at Poitiers is approx 1hr drive and makes a great day out for all the family.
In DAMPIERRE SUR BOUTONNE is a bar/restaurant,shop and a renaissance Chateau.There are opportunities for fishing and we can arrange fishing licences.
The nearest market town is AULNAY,10ks drive,with its colourful Sunday market and pavement bars and restaurants.
This area of France has many good restaurants and the people will readily welcome you to their local festivals.
We think we can offer you a tranquil holiday and look forward to welcoming you to the Charente Maritime.

Julia Jones
Stayed at the cottage in 2009 with hubby and 2 small children. Have a lovely stay. Cottage is very quaint and ideal for a base to visit local area. Gorgeous surroundings and walks nearby. Not far from Cognac if you want to visit the home of brandy. La Rochelle is worth a visit too. Owners are very friendly and helpful too :-)

My Husband & I have just stayed there for 3 weeks, Maria & Nick made us very welcome we joined them & their friends for meals out and functions in village, superb holiday and made good friends, recommend to anyone its a must for a brilliant location & village markets.
