Description of the Norris Lake vacation home rental
You will find our rates to be very competitive, if not the lowest on the lake, when you consider the size of the home and our "turn key" approach. Our weekly rates are all inclusive, they include rental, taxes, and the cleaning fee.
Do you have a large group? Ask about renting another adjacent home and use the paddle boat to go back and forth.
"Don't Stay at the Lake, Stay ON the Lake"
This house is anchored in the harbor at Whitman Hollow Marina, you will need a boat to get to the house. If you do not have a boat, Whitman Hollow has a nice selection of speed boats and pontoons, get your name on one early, as they sell out fast. Once there, you will have city electric and satellite TV. We can easily accomodate four boats, with with high quality cleats, mounted on each side of the house. There is still sufficient space to tie up a couple jet skis, if you are loaded with toys.
The house is fully equipped with dinner service for 14 people, pots, pans, coffee maker, microwave, LARGE ref/freezer, blender, central heat/air, Ipod compatible stereo system, w/outside deck speakers, ceiling fans in every room including the front porch. The large front porch is equipped with a gas grill and patio furniture. A 10' X 35' swim dock is attached to the front of the house, with a ladder and an 8 ft. slide, for the kids!!!!!!!! A paddle boat is also includes and is perfect for cruising around the harbor.
This house has three (3) bedrooms, and two (2) large baths, a queen size sleeper sofa in the great room, along with a double reclining sofa, large overstuffed chair and ottoman. We have a 42" TV, with DVD player and a "old school" game system for the kids. There is also a T.V. in the Master bedroom.
The dining room table seats six (6), and there is seating for six (6) more at the Kitchen counter.
We have a tendency to fill-up fast, so "book" early to guarantee the dates you want.
So come fish right out the front door, swim off the swim deck, lounge on the front porch, and have your boat setting right beside the house. You can't ask for a better vacation

Area Information
There are many fine eating establishments located on the water (marinas) close by, and if you are into shopping, Gatlinburg is only 1 hour away.
The kids will love the Appalachian Museum, it's only (2) exits south (at the 110 Exit) lots of fun stuff to do, and they can join right in with the staff for a hands on learning experiance.
The lake is home to Large and Small Mouth Bass, Stripers, Crappie, Catfish, Sun Fish (Pan Fish) and yes even Rainbow Trout.

We had a wonderful time on the floating house. The house is clean, spacious, well furnished and equiped. We had 6 adults and 4 children in our group. I would recommend to anyone I know to stay at this house, but I don't want to because it will make it more difficult for me to get a reservation next year. Yes, that's right we will be going back. Had great time at the floating house! Clea and everything we needed was there. So convenient to pull boats right up to hose and get in and out! Beautiful views and can grill and sit right on water! What more do you need ? Only wish marina was open more hours. Ramp was right by house making it convenient ! Great experience on Norris Lake Tennessee!!!!!

Best Family Vacation Ever !

Spent A few days in your two bedroom floating house " Lake Shore " with 8 Crazy girls for our annual girls trip prior to my family joining me in the three bedroom for a few more days after, I was sad to see the girls leave but excited to spend time with my family and show them Norris Lake & your floating homes, that I have spoken so greatly of for the past 3 years. Shirley , I must tell you the 3 bedroom was so much more than what I expected and I'm glad that my Father -In- Law joined us to make us upsize to experience it :) My Husband, Son, Sister, Brother In Law and Nephew, Niece & Myself really had an awesome time. Me and my Sister had a early morning coffee talk out on the wonderful deck our last morning there, she was in awe of the time spent there and compared her time there to be one of the Best Vacations she has ever went on, And it brings a smile to my face knowing I shared that with her !! Thank you Shirley & Bill for letting me enjoy your Home, It was great to Finally meet you two on the Lake !!!! As long as you will have us , I think you are forever stuck with My Friends and Family staying at your Floating Homes !!!

We live 3 miles from Norris Lake, but still vacation on the lake. This is the second yr we rented from Shirley, highly recommed her!! This home was awesome, huge house with everything and more. The kids had a great time and so did we!! Loved the slide and large swim platform! Water temp was 84 degrees and water was beautiful, had a great time tubing with kids and family, had inlaws staying in the 2BR across from us, so it was fun for all and the paddle boat came in handy, used it in am for early morning pick up for coffee with sister-inlaw on porch lol, couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing time!!!!!!!!!! If you need peace and quiet this is the place to stay. It is a wonderful house just like being at home except your right on Norris Lake! Can`t beat it. Already booked for this year!

Great Vacation

We stayed a whole week. It was our first time there but it will not be our last! There were 7 of us,all adults. The bed in the master bedroom was SOOO comfy! We had some rain, but we had some good weather too. Even the rainy days weren't bad. We just sat under the covered patio and watched the rain drops hit the water. It was peaceful and relaxing. The house is beautiful! The pictures on here don't do it justice. It is very roomy and we all enjoyed it very much. The wrap around counter/bar was great! The lake is georgeous, so calm and smooth, just like glass. We even saw jellyfish! Yes, I said jellyfish. Freshwater jellyfish. It was so cool. Carolyn, at the Marina, was very accomodating and so nice. The couple staying in the 2 bedroom were so helpful and so nice...great neighbors! The house has all you need and then some! The floating house was very very nice inside and outside. The only negative is about the beds - the mattresses are absolutely horrible and truly need to be replaced on all but the bunk beds. The staff at Whitman's Marina were very nice, responsive and accomodating.

This was an amazing way to have a family vacation. The houses are so big you don't even realize you're on the lake! The house was beautiful, completely furnished, and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves: Satellite TV, full kitchen, plenty of beds, 2 full bathrooms and we docked our boats right to the house! We will definitely be coming back and bringing friends & family with us.

This place is nicer than all the other places we have stayed. It is the first time we have stayed on a floating house, and we are looking forward to coming back in June. We already booked our reservation for this summer. We don't have a boat, so the owners rented us their 18 foot pontoon boat that is substantially cheaper than the Marinas rent their boats. The kids loved being on the water, but not as much as my husband. The owners told us they are installing a swimming/sunning platform on the front of the house, what a great idea.....Can't wait.
