This Floating home is located in the bay at Whitman Hollow Marina. You will need a boat to get out to it, but once there you will find the house has city electric, a water filtration system, central heat/air, fully equipped kitchen, table service for 8, 2 bedrooms,1 bath, a queen sleeper sofa in the great room, 2 T.V.s, a cube game system for the kids, ceiling fans, outdoor patio furniture on the decks, a safety railing completely around the house. and a swimming ladder for easy access back to the deck.

Everyone will enjoy the 3 person paddle boat that we keep docked at the house.

All you will need to bring to the lake are your clothes and food. Everything else is provided.

Just think, no more steps up to your rented house or condo. No more driving to or from the lake. Park your boat beside the house and relax and enjoy your evening.
Remember the reason you came to the lake? To be ON the lake. So join us in our unique home, and be sure to bring your camera, cause your friends won't believe you without proof.

Area Information

Norris lake is beautiful with it's crystal clear waters and over 880 miles of shoreline (too much to see in one weekend). The fall colors are a must see, as much of the shoreline is owned by the TVA and kept in its pristeen condition.
The lake is about 35 miles north of Knoxville, yet only 45 minutes to an hours drive to Pigeon Forge/Glatlinburg.
There are many nice resturants in the area along with the usual shopping (Wal-Mart, grocery stores and some speciality stores). Some of the Marina's have nice outside resturants on the docks. Whitman Hollow just opened a small finger food resturant this year.

Worthwhile experience.

This floating home was very charming. The fish around the home are very intelligent, good luck trying to catch them. The owners of the rental home came by to greet us, I thought that was nice. You truly only need to bring clothes, personal items and food, everything else was already there. The depth finder on the boat didnt work, that would have been nice to have. The bunkbeds need new slats, they are broke. the dvd player wouldnt work, I think it only needs new v-cables. The shower could use more water pressure.... I would recommend this rental home to everyone it was awsome. Thank you for the great experience. The Gibson family

Whitman Hollow is a small quiet marina. Very little boat traffic, with nice floating homes and very family oriented.

Quiet and Relaxing

We stayed for a long weekend the end of August. It was so nice we went back 3 weeks later. Again staying for a long weekend which then turned into a 10 day vacation, we did not want to go home. I would recommend this to everyone, there is nothing like staying right on the lake vs. land. This 2 bedroom home is very nice, well decorated and clean. We can't wait to go back next year. What a plearure!

After over 20 years of house boat trips on Cumberland, I have to say this was WAY more relaxing. Wonderful setting, beautiful house. One of the best things is the full size appliances. It’s great to be able to fit a week’s worth of food in the refrigerator and freezer and still have room for beverages. Saves about $20 per day in ice. Full size stove and oven if you’re not a grill fan which is also a great asset. No running the generator and having worries about CO2. Although we did have some rain…..we didn’t have to worry about ropes snapping in a storm. The house is anchored well and you can’t tell it’s afloat. Q:What do we need to bring with us?

A:Bring your clothing, personal items food and bottled water. Everything else is provided.

Q:What makes your vacation rental special?

A:Going to the lake, launching your boat, or renting one from the marina, touring the lake and at the end of the day, docking the boat beside the house, step onto the house and you are home for the evening. No more towing the boat to and from the lake to your motel room, rented condo or cabin. In the morning, step onto the boat and enjoy the lake.

Q:When is the best time to come?

A:It has been said; "A Bad Day At The Lake, Still Beats A Good Day At Work."This is a false statement because there are no bad days at the lake. When is the best time to come? Anytime, depending on what your planned activity is. Fishing (Spring/Fall), Swimming,Cliff Jumping,Boarding, Skiing and Para-Sailing(Summer). No ice fishinglake doesn't freeze.

Q:Is this a family activity for all ages?

A:We are in the "Memory Making Business". Your entire family or group of friends seem to magically bond in being together and enjoying the lake and all it has to offer. Memories that you, your children and your friends will look back on and cherish forever.

Q:What if I don't have a boat?

A:You will need a boat to get out to the house (either that or able to do the back-stroke).
All the Marinas offer boats for rent. I would recommend you reserve your boat, way ahead of time to make sure you will have one available.

Q:Where can I get supplies?

A:We always stopped at Wal-Mart on route 25 on the way to the lake. That way we didn't have to transport cold food a long distance. (Wal-Mart is only 5 miles from the lake)

Q:What if I need to cancel my reservation?

A:We have a very liberal cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your reservation, and we are able to book another party into your time slot, all monies that you have payed to that date will be refunded. If we are unable to re-book your slot, all monies except the deposit will be refunded.
