Northport Retreat - Heated Pool
January 6, 2014
Very clean & well appointed home with all the amenities including in ground pool. Located in quiet residential area. Easy access to & from I 75 & highway 41. Weather mostly overcast for the week with temperatures between 75 & 80. Great location for day trips to Sarasota, Venice Beach and Fort Myers. Thoroughly enjoyed time spent & would recommend the home to offers.

Our Floridia vacation for 2010
December 27, 2010
We spent our vacation from the last week in November to the 3rd week in December at this very nice home in North Port. The first week was in the 80's every day we were able to enjoy the pool every day. Then the weather turned very cold by Florida standards so no more pool. We enjoyed the variety of birds and wildlife we saw by the canal. The cold weather did a number on many of the plants, especially the banana trees. The home was very comfortable, a true "home away from home".
Two Month Stay
April 2, 2010
We spent February and March of 2010 at this North Port home. The location is easy access to the necessary shopping, restaurants and Interstate-75 for travel to other points of interest in the surrounding areas. The layout and furnishings of the home were confortable for an extended stay. The pool is solar heated so with some consistant days of good weather you are able to swim in comfort (80 and above). It is obvious the owner takes a great deal of interest, pride and hard work into the landscaping, unfortunately the Winter of 2010 was not kind to the local vegitation. Internet access was not provided at the home but could be obtained at the local library. The highlight of this home is the "quiet" and "privacy". There are no side neighbours and only the canal and vegitation at the rear so you were not disturbed AT ALL!!!

A few points that should be reviewed with owner

(1)There was no phone in the property for local calls. Never in 20+ years have we rented a villa without a phone. We were left stranded for days until we purchased a mobile. From thereon all local calls had to be paid by us at mobile rates. This, was an unnecessary and inconvenient holiday expense.Total cost being around $100(cost of phone+2 X Net10 cards)(2)Half eaten and out of date refrigerated food should be removed before visitors arrive.IT WAS NOT.So in fact should opened and out of date packaged unrefrigerated food. Health hazard involved! In fact the frig/freezer should be empty on arrival and left the same on departure!!(3)Renters should not be expected to maintain water system(salt+bleach addition whilst renting)This is a job for agents surely!(4)We had to top up pool as there seemed to be a leak in the system. When we arrived the water level was just above the flapper outlet-air was being drawn into the pumping system.VERY DETRIMENTAL TO THE PUMP BEARINGS!!The pool man should be responsible for maintaining level of pool.(5) Although the villa was advertised as having double garage space in fact we were unable to park our car in the garage because a car had been left in the centre making it impossible for our car to park alongside. Shade temperatures during our stay were 85 and 98F-not ideal for parking on the driveway!(6)On arrival temperature of the house was 99F!"Settings" for the a/c" were not valid.Luckily we had the same system in our previously owned villa.
A Tropical retreat great for family and friends...all the ammenities
