Description of the North Shore vacation villa rental
Sunnyledge is completely equipped with everything you will need for your island getaway. Sunnyledge has three large bedrooms, each with oversized showers. A fully equipped kitchen, both inside and outside dining areas, a large and comfortably furnished great room, and plenty of deck space, both shaded and sunny, to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway for two, or a home to comfortably accommodate six people, Sunnyledge is the perfect place
VHR only lists beds; the twin beds can be (and normally are) combined to make a very comfortable king bed.
Area Information
Most of the Park activities take place on the North Shore. Weekly guided bird watching walks start just a 5 min. walk from Sunnyledge. Partially restored Annaberg Suger Mill, with a self-guided tour of the ruins and descriptions of the sugaring process is a 15 min. walk from Sunnyledge.

Our stay at Sunnyledge was wonderful. The views are spectacular! Francis Bay was our favorite beach which was a 5 minute drive from Sunnyledge. Can't say enough wonderful things about it! We will stay there again on our next visit to St. John.

Fantastic Villa!!!

Our group of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) loved our visit to Sunnyledge! The location, amenities, views, breezes and setting of this beautiful villa just can't be beat on St. John. The villa itself is fabulous, even better than the pictures if that is possible. The layout is perfect with 2 of the 3 bedrooms and the living/kitchen/laundry area all on the same level and accessed from within the home. Such easy living! Being able to walk over to the Maho Bay campground to rent kayaks, book activities, go to the beach or pick up meals was so convenient. The owners Dave and Bonnie along with Terry, their on island manager, are super to work with and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay in their home was perfect. We love this villa and look forward to a return visit because we are definitely coming back to Sunnyledge!

Unbelievable

This summer was our family's first trip to STJ and by sheer luck we ended up with what I think is the best location on the island. We had high expectations on the villa and the view after looking thru the photo's posted online, but were still completely blown away the minute we walked in. The villa and view actually brought a tear to my wife's eye. Dave and Bonnie were awesome. They called nearly every day from their stateside home to check on us and to give us advice on snorkeling, etc. We also had some pretty tough travel issues due to an airline cancellation (we arrived a day late after an overnight in Puerto Rico) and Dave and Bonnie were so kind and actually offered to adjust our start/end date to help us get our full vacation on the island. You two are the best! One last note, the privacy at Sunnyledge is quite remarkable. From the view on the back deck, you can see nothing but mountainous forest, distant islands, and the emerald beach below. The villa is very remote, but for relaxers like us - that was perfect.

Great Place to stay on the North Shore

We stayed at Sunnyledge initially because of the location to our friends villa on Francis Bay. Sunnyledge turned out to be a great villa with gorgeous views and sunsets. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Just be sure to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road to the villa is not paved. We snorkeled Francis bay and Leinster bay/Waterlemon cay and saw a sea turtle, spotted eagle ray at both places. Its truly a beautiful home and we will definitely stay at Sunnyledge again when we return to St John.

Best view on the island

Sunnyledge is located in a remote area on the north side of St John with fantastic views of Francis Bay, amazing sunsets, and Tortola to the east. The home is wonderfully and comfortably furnished. It is also conveniently located near Maho Bay Resort (a 5 minute walk up the road) for drinks, meals or supplies. Coral Bay is a short drive for evening dining and there are some of the best beaches and snorkeling spots located all along the north shore. Francis Bay, just below us, was our favorite - turtles, stingrays, octopus, squid, vibrant living coral and tons of colorful fish. Dave and Bonnie Rees were very caring and accomodating hosts. Terry, their agent, met us at the ferry dock and was extremely helpful in getting us settled in to life on St John. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Sunnyledge and look forward to returning in the near future.

There is no way to put into words how exceptional and beautiful Sunnyledge is. It's an extraordinary home on an incredible island, and if a better place in the world exists, I haven't seen it yet. Do yourself a favor and rent this perfect place.

IT'S A PALACE

St. John is great and Sunnyledge only makes it better. The villa is a palace. It is so well decorated, furnished and comfortable that it's hard to leave the house. The sunsets are as good as it gets. We can't wait to return.

We stayed in Sunnyledge for spring break 2005. This was our fourth year in a row to rent a villa on the Island. This one is perfect! The views, the woodwork, the furnishings, and last but not least, the master bath shower! You'll never want to leave. It was nice to have Maho so close that you could walk to breakfast if you want. They also have great dinners and views to match. We liked how easy it was to get to the North Shore beaches. I could go on and on. Feel free to contact me for more information.
