Description of the Northwood vacation home rental

This is NO CAMP! LAKE FRONT House Beautiful, private sandy beach,3.5 acres w/row boat. Flat yard,no hills to beach.This is the PLACE you want to stay!We book up fast,call for reservation. Stand-up paddling is awesome here! Kayaking,swimming,sailing,apple picking, blue berries,horse shoes,fire pit, we have it all on site. This is a HOUSE that is full of history as well all the comforts of home. We have a large flat yard, not a rocky hill, Large colonial on 3 acres of water front property. Very peaceful and perfect for a family vacation. Sandy beach with boat and lots of lawn to relax and play. It is enjoyable to watch the sail boats go by! Swimming, sailing kayaking, fishing and stand-up paddling!..so much to do! There is a apple and pear tree.! Area for camp fire or barbecue. Great area for Biking,Hiking,Swimming,Sailing,Fishing(trout and bass)as well as sight seeing! Spring is awesome with 120 TULIPS and 200 DAFFODILS, APPLE & PEAR BLOSSOMS! All in bloom! Foliage on the lake is so beautiful with bright colors all over the lake! Winter is just as much fun! Ice Skating,Cross Country Skiing,snow snowmobiling, and sledding. 40 min to ski slopes.(My Dad) The bagpiper pipes each evening at sunset!
There are 3 bedrooms,2 toilets- 1-bathtub/shower(upstairs).1-king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 double bed. Living room, dining room, large Sun room over looking lake, and full kitchen. We have all luxurious linens on beds. There is a crib and play room(Safari room) for children. Hard wood floors. We are located on a paved main road that is easy to get to and plowed in winter

The Old New England Lake House is heart of the famous Antique Alley of Northwood, NH with over 72 shops in the area & surrounding towns! 9 miles from Deerfield Fair Grounds.(Deerfield Fair end of Sept) There are great seafood restaurants in the area! Johnson's Dairy Bar, Chadbourn's Restaurant, and many more! Flag Hill winery 15 min away in Lee, NH. 40 min to the OCEAN! It is 30 min from the old city of Portsmouth and Strawberry Banke. 15-20 From race track. 20 min from "MOTOR CYCLE WEEKEND! 15 min from UNH. 45 min from the OCEAN and Hampton Beach. 45-1.5 to StoryLand, Old Man on the Mountain and attractions. 45 min from Kittery Maine and the Outlet shops for some great shopping! We are 1.5 hour from Boston and the historic trail. 3 hour drive from Canada.5-6 hours drive from New York City.

Great for the kids!

We stayed here for a few nights starting December 1st for our son's wedding - his fiance was from NH. The location was so perfect. The lake was beautiful. I can imagine this place under all the trees in the summertime! For me, my knees aren't working well lately, and I forgot to ask about stairs and railings, so that was the only problem we had. Especially since the only shower is upstairs, and the washer and dryer is downstairs. But everyone else had a great time. Our kids, who are btwn the ages of 20 & 27 really liked the house/location. At the end of the street is a little "mom & pop" store and gas station. At the time of year we went, it was so peaceful, a good place to rest from all the busyness!

Superb for family

Amazing! We have 3 children under 4 yrs old. This rental not only gave my children so many options, but gave my husband and I a great vacation with our children. There was a large supermarket nearby - we felt peaceful solitude with the convenience needed with small children. The attached sunroom/greenhouse was lovely, beach and lawn area perfect. The piano in the home was fantastic. Flowers were left for me by the owners for me in celebration of mothers day. Cell service was perfect. We loved it!!!! If you are looking for a perfect place as a young family on vacation...then this is it!

You won't want to leave!!

We were greeted by the owners father, who was so nice. He gave us a tour and assured us that the neighborhood was a safe as can be. He was so right. When we left I was looking for my keys and realized that I had left them in my car all weekend long, with the doors unlocked. There they were! The back yard was huge. No neighbors could be seen from out back. You won't believe the privacy. We had a fire by the water, fished, relaxed on the chair swing, played badmitton and wiffle ball, cooked on the grill and sat on the patio out back. The garden room offered a wonderful view of the lake. The bed was so comfortable I had a hard time getting out in the mornings. There is also a great selection of newer DVDs to watch. The childrens Safari room is adorable. No chance of children not having a wonderful time here. We can't wait to stay again. You couldn't ask for better rental owners!

Our Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time!! We brought our kayaks and loved having a lake in the backyard. We ventured to Freeport, Maine one day. We found some alpaca farms nearby and the kids (and adults)had a great time feeding them. The house had everything we needed. John was a blessing! He answered all our questions, helped us find great hiking and biking spots. He introduced us to a local lobster man and we feasted on fresh lobsters one evening. We loved the bagpipes each evening. The kids have requested that we return next year! Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

My sisters and I rented the Lake House for a long weekend to celebrate our mother's 60th birthday. Our family all enjoys hiking, so we thought this would be the perfect location. It was everything we were expecting and a whole lot more!!! It was hard to tell what the house would be like from the pictures, but we were all more than pleased at the condition, and especially the cleanliness of the house. The backyard is very private and has its own small beach right on the lake. The fishing on the lake is fantastic!! There is also an enclosed greenhouse on the back of the house which is used as a back porch. This was an added bonus as there weren't any pictures of this area. This provided a nice place to congregate in the evenings without having to deal with all of the bugs that come out at night. The family who own the house is very friendly and accomodating. The father is the property manager and he provided fishing tips for the lake as well as directions to anywhere we needed.

Beautiful location. Great back yard for kids to run. Home was very clean and well cared for. Nice people, very inviting. Would stay again without question.

My family and I stayed here over the Christmas vacation. We had the most incrediable time! The house is big.We really relaxed and enjoyed watching the snow fall! We built a fire down by the lake and cooked marshmellos. We had a great time sleding and making snowmen! The biggest surprize was to see 3 deer in the yard on Christmas morning! We had the most incrediable time and look forward to going back again!
