Description of the Oak Island vacation condo rental

A fully equipped tastefully decorated upper level 3-bedroom condo with a gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean on Caswell Beach. Located on Oak Island, Caswell Beach faces due south, so the sun rises to the left and sets to the right of the view from the large deck, furnished with table, chairs and chaise lounges. The condo is situated in Caswell Dunes, which backs onto the Oak Island Golf Course. This unit is the closest rental unit in Caswell Dunes to the beach access across the dune and one of the two private fresh water pools on site. Unit amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, 32” SONY TV with DVD and VCR, stereo with CD and cassette player, wireless/ethernet high speed internet, and a convenient outdoor shower. The 3 bedroom/ 2 full bath condo features a master en suite with a double jacuzzi and separate shower. Bedroom 2 has twin beds that can be converted to a King. Bedroom 3 has twin beds. The unit has a crib suitable for an infant. Renters will have access to the owner (who lives in North Carolina) by cell phone for questions/instructions. Tenants are required to clean the unit (launder towels/sheets, clean dishes, and clean bathrooms) before departure, unless other arrangements are made with the owner. All bedding, towels, and cleaning materials supplied.

Area Description

Oak Island is an outer island facing due south, between Bald head Island to the east across the Cape Fear inlet and Holden beach to the west. The beach has recently been restored, and is very wide and very empty (unpopulated). The slope is gentle, suitable for children. Bottle nose dolphins frequent the area close to the beach and can be seen easily from the beach or the deck of the unit. Caswell Beach is a loggerhead sea turtle sanctuary. Caswell Dunes development backs onto Oak Island Golf Course. Other nearby courses include South Harbor Golf Links, a par 3 course on the mainland (2 miles), St. James Plantation, where there are 81 holes of spectacular golf (7 miles), and Carolina National (12 miles, 27 holes), and for the die-hards, Myrtle Beach, SC is 45 minutes away with more golf courses than can be counted on hands and feet. Southport is the quaint town on the mainland across the bridge - restaurants, shops, deep sea fishing and much more; Orton Plantation-10 miles; Fort Fisher Aquarium easily accessed by car ferry across the Cape Fear; Bald Head Island - access for a day trip by ferry from Southport; Wilmington (30 miles) has waterfront shops, restaurants, and the North Carolina Battleship Museum. On Oak Island, there are restaurants, grocery stores, a fishing pier, the Oak Island lighthouse, and miles of pristine sand beach.

Oak Island Tranquility at its best, August 19, 2009

After a long drive from Ottawa, Canada, we were greeted by a beautifully appointed, immaculate condo surrounded by spectacular views of the ocean. The owners had made every effort to welcome us to their summer home. Available to us was literature on restaurants, places of interest and interesting facts on the natural habitat of Caswell beach. On Oak Island your vacation will tranquil, a place to regroup.

Lovely condo, on a beautiful beach. If you want to relax, this is the spot to do it. Anything else you might want is nearby - golf, shopping, restaurants. Great accomodations - just like a home away from home.
