Description of the Oak Island vacation home rental

Tropical Breeze is a kid-friendly & dog-friendly 3 bedroom/2 bath beach house located approximately 100 yards from the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean on Oak Island, NC. You can't beat this location to take your vacation. There is just so much to do on Oak Island or you can just stay at Tropical Breeze & relax in the tranquil environment. Come see the dolphins swim or view one of the many bird species & other wildlife on this island sanctuary. Enjoy the ocean views & beautiful sunsets from the fully covered large front porch while sitting on a swing.

The kitchen/dining/living area is a large open airy living space with a cathedral ceiling. It's great for entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 12 & all the pots & pans you need to whip up something quick in between your trips to the beach. We even have a 19 qt lobster/clam steamer pot & a crockpot. Open one of the many front windows to feel the wonderful ocean breezes. You can watch a movie on the large flat screen TV or just enjoy the view while relaxing on the large comfortable sectional sofa.

--The master bedroom has a king-size bed with it's own private bathroom with a shower/tub. The master bedroom is equipped with a flat screen TV & DVD Player & an iPod Docking Station/Alarm Clock Radio. It is furnished with a sitting chair & stocked bookcase for those who like to read before going to bed.

--The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, sitting chair, & a flat screen TV.

--The third bedroom has 2 twin-size beds.

Each bedroom has its own closet, dresser, night stand(s), ceiling fan, overhead light, & cable/phone connection.

There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the entire home.

Wireless (WiFi) internet service is accessible anywhere on the property so you can get away & still be in touch. Unlimited local & long distance calling within the USA & Canada is also included.

The house has central air conditioning & heating. The laundry room is conveniently located on the main floor inside the house. There is a hot & cold outside shower in addition to the 2 full bathrooms. For those who fish there is a hot & cold working sink next to the outside shower to clean off your catch. The fully-fenced yard & gated porch provide peace of mind for those traveling with dogs or children. Enjoy the ocean breezes while picnicking underneath the house in the shade--or lounge in the hammock.

There are plenty of books, puzzles, board games & a video library to whittle the time away in between trips to the beach.

Oak Island is a very family-oriented vacation destination. It is located 40 minutes from Wilmington & an hours drive to Myrtle Beach, SC. Oak Island has approximately 12 miles of white sandy beaches. The island faces south, so the ocean waters are usually fairly gentle. The beaches are dog-friendly year round with no time restrictions.

There are many fishing spots on Oak Island. If you like golfing, there are local golf courses & Myrtle Beach is not that far away. Southport is a short ride away & has many nice restaurants. Historic Wilmington is a 40 minute drive away with many sights, shops & eateries. For those who do not want to drive too far, there are many wonderful local restaurants & shops on Oak Island. You can walk to the convenience market only 2 blocks away from Tropical Breeze to get the morning paper.

You can rent bikes, mopeds, golf carts, scooters, kayaks & many other things at one of the local shops.

There is also a dog park & skateboard park nearby.

• Deposits: A 50% deposit is required within 7 calendar days of making a reservation. The balance will be due 30 days prior to check-in. If your check-in date is less than 30 days from your reservation date, the full amount will be due upon making your reservation. If your 50% deposit is not received within 7 calendar days of making your reservation, we will have to cancel your reservation. Linen rental is $65. Departure maid service is included free of charge (we ask you to complete a few small tasks).
   
• Other Fees: Your dogs are welcome at Tropical Breeze (we can only accommodate dogs). We do charge a non-refundable pet fee of $150 for the 1st dog & $50 for each add'l dog-maximum of 3 dogs. Please let us know what type of dog(s) you have. We do not discriminate against any breeds as long as you assure us that they are friendly & well behaved. A $250 pet security deposit is required which will be refunded to you within 45 days after you check-out provided there is no damage or no treatments are needed.

My husband, my dog,Benji, and I stayed at Tropical Breeze Ocean View House in Oak Island in October. The house was immaculate and decorated with creative taste in furnishings and in color. The entire property was fenced with chainlink fencing. No way for Benji to escape. The beach was with walking distance and a Food Lion was nearby. Restaurants only a short distance away provided excellent entrees. We've stayed many places, but this was, by far, the most inviting. We took nothing, except clothes, and everything we needed was right at hand. We were so relaxed! We are ready to return! Frances A. Laughter Terrell, NC 28682
