Description of the Oakdale vacation cottage rental

Special: May 1 - June 15 ONLY 750 per week! Book your stay Now. Within minutes to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos. Direct Lakefront 1 bed 1 bath cottage on private Oxoboxo Lake. The first thing you see as you enter the door of our cottage is a wall of windows looking out at the spectacular view of the lake. Some call it the million dollar view. The cottage comes fully furnished and has its own private sandy beach, fire pit, large deck and your own dock. Enjoy swimming, boating(no motor restrictions here), fishing or just relaxing on the beach. There is also a private boat launch so you can launch your boat to get it to our dock. Once nside you will find an eat in kitchen, living room with leather queen sleeper sofa with chaise lounge, tv with dvd and vhs. The sun room offers a nice chaise lounge looking at the view from the windows. There is a water view on all 3 sides of the property and from inside the cottage. We are located very close to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos, as well as within 2 hours of NYC and Boston. So come and relax, enjoy world class entertainment at the casinos, and take in the spectacular view of the lake. ***Holiday Rates are more, please inquireNO PETS!!!

A great little Cottege on a beautiful lake........Was nice to have a fire pit to be able to roast marshmallows , and cook over an on fire. Had a Great Week !

The perfect little get a way!
The Oxoboxo Lake Cottage is a lovely little hidden gem. Literally lake-front, it is only steps to a private dock with paddle boat. My family did some of the best fishing we have ever done. The lake offers lots of fish to catch; perch, lake trout, bass, pickerel, crappie, and endless sunfish, many of which we caught numerous times. Victoria, the Cottage host, is professional, considerate, and accommodating. My family and I have stayed in many vacation homes over the years and I find Victoria to be one of the nicest and fair people I have ever dealt with. The cottage itself is clean, quaint and nicely decorated with an amazing view of the lake. The outdoor seating area is perfect for picnicking, entertaining small parties and hosting a cozy fire by the water. If I had to choose one issue to help a prospective renter to consider this lovely cottage, it would be that the homes in this area are very close to one another and the cottage lacked privacy for my taste. But, in all fairness, I am a very private person and my privacy is important to me. If you are an outgoing person and enjoy close-knit quarters and neighbors, this is by all means, a perfect little get a way vacation home and I highly recommend it to all.

I arrived on 4/5/11, I was pleasantly surprised to see just how lovely this vacation home is. I've stayed in dozens and dozens of vacation homes over the years. This is the cleanest place I have ever been in! Victoria met me here on my arrival. She was friendly, helpful and professional. My daughter and I were pleasantly surprised to find fresh flowers on the table and a beautiful basket full of useful goodies!! Victoria even surprised us with a little welcome note. May 18, 2011 Thank you for the wonderful get away from busy Boston to allow me to make amazing progress on my dissertation. The view of the lake was inspirational & the overall setting provided the clarity of mind needed to accomplish all that I have this week. Had frequent visits from a pair of Canadian Geese ( I think) and their 4 fluffy chicks. The steam on the lake the first morning was a novel sight & was the promise of the most beautiful day full of sun. Thanks a bunch!! Sara S.

The cottage is very quaint and cozy with a gorgeous view of the lake out the big picture window. I was greeted with a vase of flowers at the front door and a welcome basket of goodies on the kitchen table. Although the week I stayed was cold and I spent most of my time gazing at the scenery from the comfy couch indoors, I can imagine having a great time on the deck and mini-beach out back in warmer weather. The kitchen is big and would be great for someone into cooking. The bedroom is smallish but comfortable and the bathroom houses only a shower not a bathtub. The furnace works great (kinda loud) and I never ran out of hot water. Vicki was very easy to deal with and seems to have thought of everything. I would definitely stay there again if my travels bring me to Connecticut in the future. You can't beat that view, the lake is simply beautiful. 3/27/11 Lisa P

I'm a young travelling professional, and I spent 3.5 months in this cottage from fall to the beginning of winter. The home absolutely suited my needs, and I fell in love the house as well as the lake! The landlords are great to work with, the neighbors are friendly and nothing beats the view! I had a great stay and would definitely consider going back if I return to the area!
