The outside is a bit shabby compared to the online picture. Inside, is ok. We were appreciative of the extra quick response from the owner re: iron, ironing board and internet service. The accommodation is comfortable as promised. AC keeps the place very cool. Lake Weir is warm as expected in July-Aug. The beach is comfortable and well kept. Gator Joe's food is fine. We would rent the place again.

My wife and I booked this "cottage" for a week in November 2012. We didn't actually get to stay in it as the owner FORGOT WE WERE COMING! After waiting an hour past her stated arrival time I rang and was told she had forgotten all about us as she was a very busy business person. The owner sugggested I went off and found a hotel for the night, at her expense and that it would be clean and ready for us by mid= afternoon the next day. This was later reduced to mid-morning. Having seen the outside of the property we decided that this was not the immaculate, tidy cottage depicted in the pictures and that we had no wish to stay here. The fences were sagging in several places, the garden area uncared for, the property walls covered in green mould and the front porch (walls, window sills, broken window and floor) VERY dirty. Maintenance neglect was evident wherever you looked. The photos show a view looking down the road to the lake a few blocks away and looks as though there is access to the lake shore. It may well have done when these photos were taken but today there is an eight foot high chainlink fence across the whole gateway. The only access to the lake is by visiting Gator Joes restaurant who apppear to own the lake frontage beyond the fence. No way do the pictures or desciption on the website convey a true description of the property or surrounding area.

The house itself was very clean and nice- the backyard was very appropriate for our 2 dogs. The neighborhood was iffy and the beach was not accessible unless you paid to eat at the Gator JOes- we did eat there and it was also very disappointing. There was nothing to do in this town - but there were 2 beautiful parks that we walked in. We even cleaned the house so should not have to pay for a cleaning fee- we left it spotless.
