Description of the Okauchee Lake vacation home rental
Newly remodeled lake home offers great views throughout. Spacious, open concept great room with dining seating area for 8 as well as a breakfast bar. Full kitchen includes: microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and all cookware/utensils. 3 bedrooms include; Master bedroom king bed with panoramic lake views, 2nd bedroom with queen bed, 3rd bedroom includes two sets of bunk beds. Central air and ceiling fans provide comfortable cooling in hot weather. Stackable washer and dryer conveniently located on bedroom level.
Our lake front features a unique 15'x16' party room (dry finished boathouse) with refrigerator and seating area. Large lake with expansive shoreline is accessible from large split pier. There is a boat slip available on-site for your personal watercraft. Spacious multi-tier deck offering 500 square feet of seating area for entertaining overlooking the lake. Outdoor living space is provided with lounge chairs, tables and seating for up to 8. Child-friendly grass area and sand pit near water. Outdoor fire pit and gas grill are provided for relaxation and grilling. Home includes the use of pier.
Area Information
Great location just 90 minutes from Chicago or 1/2 hour west of Milwaukee and 45 minutes east of Madison. 5 minutes to beautiful downtown. Within 10 minutes of Lapham Peak (a beautiful State Park with lighted cross country ski/hiking trails) as well as Kettle Moraine State Forest with hundreds of miles of hiking trails. Some of the best mountain biking in the state is only 1/2 hour away.

Family vacation

My daughter and I arrived on Satuday and felt very comfortable with the house instantly. Two days later my husband met us at the house and was very pleased. On that Thursday my Son and Daughter in law and our two Grandsons came to join us. The house more than comfortably was able to accomidate us. The babies enjoyed the water. We enjoyed a relaxing week at the house and would recommend a stay for anyone! Thank you, Linda

Excellent Home -- great owners

We stayed in this home for the Memorial Day weekend, and it was fantastic (family of 7-children ranging in age from 8yrs-15yrs of age) and far greater than what we expected. The home was very clean, well prepared and contained all of the necessities required to cook in, cook out and enjoy the water. The owner was kind enough to provide concise directions to the property (including landmarks and a photo from the roadway) as it was easy to pass by -- but Lori was great, she was prompt in responding to questions, sent a "Welcome" email a couple of days before with the directions and photos mentioned above, and was very accomodating. The large sun deck was great, my husband and I enjoyed coffee each morning while watching the geese and ducks swim by, and viewing the sailboats in the distance by the yacht club. The neighborhood was quiet and very friendly. We rented a speed boat from Good Times Boat Rental (we have rented from them a couple of times previously as well) and we are able to keep the boat at the pier, and still have room to fish and enjoy the scenery. The homeowner's had several life vests, a wet suit, beach toys, etc in the boat house, which were very helpful and kept our kids busy for hours. There were also games and puzzles in the home, which helped on the rainy days. The WiFi was fast and very reliable, no issues what so ever. We will definitely return to this home -- everything was perfectly handled and pleasurable. Thank you for everything and for providing our family with wonderful memories.

Wonderful Place

We completely enjoyed the lakefront home. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. The deck is great, the view fantastic, and loved the use of the canoe. My youngest fished off the pier constantly and had an "awesome" time. Would rent it again. only negatives: One bath would be hard if more than 4 adults. Bathroom is in the upstairs only, so a bit inconvenient when outside on the deck.

Taking a break from our daily grind

We rented this lake house in June 2010 and everyone had a wonderful time. We took our two teenage daughters and one of their friends with us, and believe me when I say none of us wanted to leave when our trip was over. The girls had a great time fishing, cooking smores over the fire pit, and canoeing. They also enjoyed using the boat house as additional space to talk and enjoy the lake front. The house itself was spotless and very inviting. The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking to say the least. The decks provide a spectacular unobstructed view of the lake which provided hours of relaxing entertainment for all of us. The house is perfectly nestled away in a very quiet community, and yet close enough to other attractions to accommodate everyone’s wishes. For example, one day we went to the Milwaukee County Zoo, another evening we went to the movies, and we even took several trips to downtown Milwaukee where we enjoyed the sounds of Summerfest which claims to be “The World's Largest Music Festival," all just a short distance away from the lake house. One of my favorite memories is sitting quietly with my husband each morning sipping coffee on the deck listening to the birds sing and watching the morning sun glisten off the waters of Lake Okauchee. If you rent this house make sure to take time to meet the neighbors they couldn’t have been nicer.
