Make The Loft in Raquette Lake your headquarters for an unforgettable winter holiday. An Adirondack style housekeeping unit, The Loft features a living-dining area with wood-burning fireplace (firewood supplied), satellite TV, electric heat with individual thermostats. 2 bedrooms: master bedroom with double bed and 1/2 bath; bunk room with 4 built-in bunks and full bath (shower). There are full cooking and dining utensils in the modern kitchen, including microwave and coffee maker.

Heated, snowmobile storage on ground level. Instant access to groomed snowmobile trails or crosscountry ski trails. No trail permit required on state snowmobile trails or on the lake itself. Easy access to Inlet's and Old Forge's 500 miles of snowmobile trail system (permit required). Downhill (alpine) skiing at McCauley Mt in Old Forge (1/2 hr drive); Gore Mt in North Creek (1 hr); Whiteface Mt in Lake Placid (2 hrs away).

The State land is constitutionally protected from any kind of development- thus "forever wild." Raquette Lake, with 99 miles of shoreline, is the largest natural lake in the Adirondacks. 80% of the shoreline is owned by the State so you won't see many camps or people- just pristine shoreline, woods and wildlife. Besides the obvious outdoor recreation opportunities there are other forms of entertainment Visit the brand new Natural History Museum in Tupper Lake, the Wild Center! Lake Placid and the Winter Olympic venues are just 75 miles north- a nice day trip. Other day trip possibilities include Lake George, Inlet and Old Forge with shopping and dining options galore! Place was very clean cozy, snowmobiling was grate for late in season, had no problam finding snow, owerners were grate people to rent from. Cant beet it for the price. Tom  more...
