The pictures were deceptive - the cottage was VERY tight. You couldn't comfortably get into the top bunk, and the sleeping loft was very small, with no room to sit all the way up in bed.

We would have had more room in a tent or at least been better prepared. A equipped kitchen ...not... sleep 6 comfortably... no Close to the beach.... after a 10 minute drive... one year old 1/4 of a house trailer. Could not stand next to someone and turn around in the kitchen or bath area... We got there and two of the three outside doors were broken toilet paper dispenser and shower head were broken....

This over priced cottage is own/rented by thief's! I'm still too angry to write decent review, so till I cool down the only thing I can say is STAY AWAY !!! (unless you want to throw away $270 per night for a dog house)

Check-in is at 4pm but we had to wait an hour because our room was being cleaned. When we were finally permitted to enter we quickly realized that the cottage did not appear cleaned at all. We even went to registration to ask for cleaning products and we also set out to purchase a wet swiffer because the floor was filthy (I used all 12 wet cloths and the floor still remained dirty). There were used tissues between the beds and in the sofa couch. Let's not forget to mention that we were told that a full kitchen would be available to us; however, there was no frying pan & no cutting knives (I had to cut an onion with a butter knife). Oh, there was also no dish soap and half a roll of kleenex available to us. We also paid for WiFi and there was no reception. The young man at the registration later told us that our unit has ''bad reception''. LOL 1700$... what a joke!!! I demand a refund. All in all, Wagon Wheel sucks!!! Moreover, I will be sure to publicize my review.

Extremely disappointed with our vacation rental! Our "Ideal Cottage" rental was terrible and unsafe! Our cottage had absolutely no privacy, no screened in porch, 25 min exhausting journey to the beach with 3 children. It was supposed to be private but we had campers in each direction and were directly across an UNSAFE construction site with dumpsters, dump trucks, backhoes, diggers coming and going throughout the morning and afternoon!!!! Four foot ditches were dug out bearing electrical wires, cables and big tree roots! All of this was not even contained within fencing making it unbelievably negligent of the risks of guests hurting themselves during the day or night! It's remarkable a child wasn't hurt as the dump trucks did not even gave spotters while little one are riding their trikes and bikes around the camp! Insane!!! We expressed our concern upon check-in and all were told is sorry for the mess but at least there won't be any construction through the week (?) which was a complete and outright lie! No one should have been permitted to camp or cottage in the area! The only customer attention or care provided was from the obnoxious and continual knocks on the door fro salespeople trying to convince us to visit a timeshare meeting!!! Just terrible! We called the ideal cottage rental people to formally submit a complaint after my son was almost run over by a clanging dump truck in front of our cottage!!! No one called us back and it's now been over a week! We left the property and our horrible experience and cottage early as it was loud, dusty, dangerous and annoying! After driving from Ontario, Canada to this property, (12hrs!), it was a massive waste of money, time and cherished family vacation time! Your company should be embarrassed to represent and mislead our family!! I have taken photos and video of the obstruction site which was 6 ft from our " front porch". I intend to add this information above comments to Trip Advisor in the next few days if I do not receive a full refund for our extremely poor experience. No family should experience such a disaster of a vacation! Thank you in advance for listening. I hope if anything the safety issues that exist are addressed before a child is injured. Sincerely, Jennifer Hagen

Our week was very fun, in a clean place, in a good spot! Bad point : The second floor is so thin that you are just about to go to bed. Also; the camping service will stop you to make a camping fire at max 23h; so its brake your fun rapidly. But we have great time in a great place!

It was my first time in a camp site and also my first visit to Maine. Wild Acres turned it into a remarkable stay. The cottage we stayed provided all you may need for a short stay (except the non-stick pan which I bought from neighbourhood store). Complimentary one night campfire material was pleasant. Yet have to mention that the loft ceiling was too low, even for my 6 and 3.5 year old kids. You would certainly need a car for daily shopping since the campsite market provides limited number of items and almost no food if you are into cooking at the premises. Old Orchard Beach is fantastic and the town center provided much entertainment at night. Would I recomend in general, yes. Would I go myself a second time. Why not.

I have already sent a long e-mail to the campground that is associated with the cottage, but in short for these purposes, we were quoted specific prices for certain things (like visitors, etc) because we were having company (it was our honeymoon weekend). We confirmed and re-confirmed everything but where told differently once we checked in. When we brought our concerns to the office employees they didn't even offer to have us talk to a manager about our concerns. There were no linens in the cottage for the queen bed, no towels or anything (but there were supposed to be, and there were some at the unit we moved to). There were other things like beer cans littering the mini-golf area and a few other details that made me decide I won't stay at this resort in the future. The cottage was beautiful, and exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon weekend- but the location it was at ruined the whole weekend.

would not recommend this cottage. It was new, clean and nicely decorated but that is all! SMALL, SMALL, SMALL! Nothing as describe. The beds in the sleeping loft were two mattress on the floor and the stairs leading to the loft were too steep for anyone over 4ft tall to climb up and too dangerous for small children. The bunk beds were impossible to use. The room had to have been built around the beds. Small children could have climb over the footboard to get in but you would never be able to get to them in case of emergency. The master suite was tight. I didn't expect to crawl over a footboard to get into bed every night! The cottage consisted of a living room/dining room/kitchen all in one with a small love seat and one chair. It was described as comfortable for one family. We were a family of three, my husband, myself and our 6 year old grandson and we were less then comfortable ALL week. Disappointed does not even describe how we felt! I would not describe this as a cottage or aresort. It is more like an upgraded RV in a campground. If I wanted to go camping I would have gone to Baley's Campground in Scarborough, Me. We camped there years ago with our children. The price was way out of line for what we got. We stayed at Ideal Cottage Resort in Old Orchard Beach, Me and will never rent again.

All information was VERY miss leading! Cottage much smaller than what was explained. Looked nothing like the picture I saw on the web site. There were 7 of us and definetely did not fit us. I was told you could sleep 8. No way! some had to sleep on the floor. bunk beds not usable, you could barely get my 9 year old up there, forget an adult. Cottage was not the cleanest. There was about 2inches of dust on the fan. We wouldn't even turn it on. Definatety not worth the money. It was a rip off for sure. We would never stay again or recommend anyone stay there!

The place was very clean and new, the bunk bedroom was a little too small very hard to get to the bed on the bottom u have to be real skinny, ideal spot close to the beach and the pier perfect location would go again but would prefer if it was a little cheaper.

well first of all I was led to believe I was renting a deluxe cottoage that sleeps 2 families...for $1500 before tax etc...then I was told no pets in these cottages....after booking 3 mos later I was contacted and told that I now had 2 tiny cottages...come to find out wildacres does not have any deluxe cottages....there were 2 large dogs in two of our neighbors cottages....the second bedroom was not a bedroom but a closet where they actually cut out tha bottom of the bunk because u literally had o crawl into the bunk to go to bed..disgusting....then the loft stairs so steep the kids kept tripping and falling..dangerous....no tub..was told it had full bath..in deluxe...never told no tub in little ones...made do... cottage nicely decorated and good quality t hough..but did not like being mis represented.... and too small an area for us.....

It was ok. I was told it was a cottage, it was very nice and new but it was a glorified trailer! It said sleeps 6 comfortably, I was told 8 and the way it was explained made it sound enormous! Nope not at all! We had a problem with our door shutting the moment we got there. Told4 people and it took 3 fats to fix. The maintenance man came in my trailer to fix it without calling or knocking! My daughter was sleeping and he walked right in! It was nice but way overpriced! Unfortunately I am an Rn and have to wait until late to book a vaca!

The house had an awkward entrance/foyer it was too tight, the living room was way too small, upstairs bathroom tiny and awkward also, no mirrors in bedrooms,no closet in downstairs bedroom, all rooms could use a ceiling fan, no back yard just rocks couldn't use even for the dogs, Kitchen was large with not enough storage or supplies, could send along a list of things that you need with the contract would be helpful, deck was very useful, Great location to beach and pier this was very convient, over all we will look at others next year but we had a great vacation at old orchard beach

We were expecting a resort near the ocean in Southern Maine and ended up in run down camp ground/NASCAR RV resort. The website makes no reference to RVs. The place had 3 names, Wild Acres, Ideal Cottage, and NASCAR Resorts. Most cottages were still in construction so the site was a construction site with construction workers, debris, and equipment. The most unsightly location for a vacation rental and unpleasant experience on my husband's 50th birthday! We cut our trip short after one night and came home! Management has rejected our request for refund which of course we feel is unfair and unfounded. We will never consult your website either because it seems like your references are not properly vetted.
