Description of the Old Orchard Beach vacation home rental

New to the rental market for 2013. This is a 5 b/r house which is approximately .3 (three-tenths) of a mile from the beach. Owners said abut 3-4 minute walk to the beach. Home is located on a nice quiet side street. BED SETUP: Bedroom 1, Master bedroom, 1 Queen; 2nd bedroom, 1 Full; 3rd bedroom, 1 full size bed & 2 twin beds (or 3 twins, TBD); 4th bedroom, 1 twin; 5th b/r which is a walk-thru to access Master, TBD, either a futon or trundle bed. On the enclosed porch there’s a “click” sleep sofa, sleeps 1-2. There is a sleep sofa in the living room as well. Home will sleep 10 in beds 12 with extra cots which can be put anywhere. There's a deck with a gas BBQ grille Home has living room, dining room, very large kitchen. Full bath on 1st foor with tub/shower combo; half bath 2nd floor; cable TV; washer & dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove, fridge, Hardwood floors in large living room, dining room, etc. There is parking for 2 cars in driveway, more on street out front. Small open front porch. All of this for only $2,000/wk. Dog may be allowed with permission

Area Information

Home is located on a quiet side street. Walk to the beach or the pier.

Old Orchard has a beautiful beach called Grand Beach. The best in the State of Maine. There are gift shops, eateries, amusements, an arcade & the famous Pier at Old Orchard Beach. Amtrak runs trains from Boston to Portland daily with stops in Saco year round and in Old Orchard during summer season. Saco & Old Orchard are adjacent towns. Saco is adjacent to Old Orchard to the south. Scarborough (Pine Point) is to the north, adjacent to Old Orchard Beach.

Saco & Old Orchard exits are #36 on the Maine Turnpike and are half way between Kittery & Freeport for outlet shopping; 20 minutes to South Portland to a major mall and 20 minutes to Portland. There are also many shops along Rte. 1 for antique stuff between Wells & Scarborough. The Old Port in Portland is at the waterfront with shops, 25 minute ride. We’re about 1-1/2 hours or so from the Boston area.

A:Lobster sales available not far from the home on Saco Ave. Also available in Camp Ellis 3 miles away from the Fish'n Optician daily 4-6.

Q:Any airports nearby?

A:The Portland Jetport is about a 20-minute ride away

Q:Linens included?

A:You need to bring your own sheets, towels, beach chairs, paper goods & soaps. All else you need will be at the home.

Q:Can I bring my 4-legged pet?

A:Dogs are allowed at this house. There's a "doggie park" about 3 minutes away. During daytime, dogs not allowed on the beach in OOB. Can bring mornings before 9:00 and after 4-5:00 PM evenings. Must be leashed and of course "picked up" after. If bringing your pet, we expect the yard to be kept clean at all times as children will play in the yard.
