The Gallery Apartment is an easy 2nd floor walk up in a meticulously restored, secure, historic building.
Enjoy the many attractions of Old San Juan without the problems of access and parking, from your own apartment, with large balcony over Cristo Street, in the heart of the downtown gallery/shopping district: bustling during the day, and quiet at night, and no trudging up the hill at the end of your day.
Weekly maid service & local calls on your 2 portable phones are free, as is high speed wireless internet access.
Our guests appreciate that they are not "abandoned" as the employees downstairs during the day, can provide concierge services.
The apartment is quite large (1500 sq ft), with CENTRAL AC throughout, also ceiling fans in case you prefer to leave the balcony doors open.
Downstairs you have the 20ft X 20 ft. living room. The ceiling is 18 ft. high. There is a large desk, closet, TV, and 2 queen size Euro style futons which can accommodate 2 couples and a twin pop-up trundle that can be used as 2 twin beds, or attached to make a king bed. Also downstairs is a large, full bathroom.
The master bedroom is in the mezzanine over the kitchen. It has a King size bed, phone and TV. Behind this is another small bedroom with 2 closets and 1 twin bed, good for a child, to be near the parents, but in a separate room. There is also a full bathroom upstairs.
Further details can be found by clicking on EXTERNAL LINKS, "Rental Properties" at the bottom of this page.
If we appear to be booked for the dates of your intended stay, please contact us anyway in case there has been a cancellation.
Area Information
You are surrounded by historic monuments: one block north of the Cristo Chapel, Pigeon Park, and La Fortaleza, giving us the added security of being probably the only property with policemen right on the corner 24/7, because the Governor lives there.
One block West is the Plaza de Armas, where you'll find cafes, grocer and drug stores as well as a stop for the free trollys that go around San Juan, and taxi stand. You are 2 blocks South of the El Convento Hotel and the Puerta de San Juan, the ancient gateway to the city. Here you enter the middle of the "Paseo": a beautiful mile long walkway along the bay that stretches from the ancient cemetery to the cruise ship docks. This is a great morning jog or walk.
Legendary nightlife is 4 blocks away: "SoFo" restaurant district to the east, and San Sebastian St. for clubs & bars to the North (up the hill).
If you plan to stay in Old San Juan, you won't need a car. If you will have a car anyway, you can usually find free on-street parking nearby, but it's a bit of a hunt.
If you prefer, there are several inexpensive parking lots within a few blocks. Maps showing proximity to parking and attractions are shown on the "Rental Property" link.

Great place and location!
November 17, 2011
Wonderful girls weekend! We were so busy out in town, we were barely in the apartment, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable, and safe! Everything you need is already there. Centrally located in walking distance to many local attractions. We will return!

Made our trip!
April 2, 2011
Our vacation really would not have been as wonderful as it was without this apartment. Even with 7 of us, it was spacious and comfortable, and we made extensive use of the kitchen which was well-equipped to deal with us! Lounging in the balcony and overlooking the street activity was one of our favorite pastimes. The staff and owner were very accommodating and helpful. The location was fantastic--we went to a different beach every day, and were walking distance from bars, clubs, restaurants, and El Morro Fort. I strongly recommend snatching up this apartment if it is available for you--you will LOVE spending your holiday here!

Simply the best!

Love these places. I have stayed at both apts in the last few years. They're comfortable and they have what it takes to make you feel at home, including the hospitality of the caretakers. I'm and Old San Juan expert and I have stayed in many places before, but these are my favorites. I highly recommended them. Love the store downstairs too, La Boveda.

Great Location for Exploring Old San Juan
April 13, 2009
My Girlfriend and I stayed for 4 nights in February for my birthday and found the locationa nd apartment to be ideal for experiencing the city. The apartment nice with all of the amenities you need, though the staircase to the bedroom is a bit steep. Besides being close to everything the best part was the balcony where you could sit and watch the world go by.

Perfect for us
January 23, 2008
I truly enjoyed this apartment, It's location is ideal. Right next to Governors residence, restaurants and El Morro the 500 year old fort. The airconditioning was great and we enjoyed just being on the balcony watching people go by. It is important to know that their is a long stairway to go up to the second floor so you must be able to go up the stairs. I reccomend this apartment.

Puerto Rico in Style and Comfort
July 25, 2007
My girlfriend & I made our first trip to Puerto Rico in March, on what was the first leg of an extended overseas holiday. After travelling for the better part of 2 days by plane just to reach the country it was amazing good luck to find this place to stay. No exageration to say it would be very hard to find a better apartment in San Juan, on so many levels: location, privacy, security and comfort. An amazing base to set about travels of San Juan and further afield. For a start, this is in one of the safest parts of town. We stayed for a week and in that time ate at probably 10 fantastic restaurants no further than 5 minutes walk away. We hired a car to enable touring further afield for golf and other destinations (Las Croabas fishing village, downtown Fajardo, a bioluminescent bay, El Yunque Rain Forest, Camuy Caves, Arecibo Observatory, El Conquistador golf course, Dorado Beach golf courses). Very large and functional kitchen. Great loft with queen sized bed. Enormous living area with balcony, high ceilings throughout. Great tv reception in both the bedroom and the living room. You will find a cheaper option if you desperately want to but I am confident to say nothing of such high quality for this price. This is a class apartment most people would be more than happy to live in. Fully self contained. A real delight. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and freely suggest this apartment is one of my most comfortable and value for money finds to date. Feel free to contact me if you wish to verify any details. Happy travels & thanks for the memories, Puerto Rico. Sam C

Great place in San Juan!
March 18, 2007
We just spent 2 weeks in Old San Juan, and that was the best vacation I have spent in some time. We were so happy to find this location to stay at. It was near everything we wanted and made a great base to explore the island at our will. The apartment was huge and had everything we needed. The owner was always ready to take care of us and help us with our plans; If you want to stay in a great place that is right on the the beaten path, then you will enjoy this nice and charming guest house.

I have enjoyed many stays in this Safe, quite apt located in the HEART of San Juan when I travel to Puerto Rico on business, Its like staying with Family ,without the hassels and screaming kids. I only stay here when I travel. The price is always resonable.
