Description of the Old San Juan vacation apartment rental
The historic neighborhood offers quick access to fortress El Morro and San Cristobal, restaurants(for all budgets), pubs, dancing places(salsa), shopping stores, pharmacy(Walgreens), church, museums, galeries,hotels, all walking distance.
The apartment is fully equipped, plasma TV(cable TV), internet access, queen bed, full futton, kitchen equipped, interior patio, private bathroom and balcony with view to the street and ocean.
Minimum reservation three nights. Check inn 3:00 PM and check out is at 11:00 AM. No charge for extra guests. For cancellation, 60 days notice is required.
One time charge cleaning fee $50.00.

Experience the REAL Puerto Rico

I highly recommend this place to stay if you want a taste of what Puerto Rico is all about. It is perfectly situated in downtown Old San Juan. You can not beat the price of the stay, and also the sincere hospitality of its owner Freddy and his family. You will not want to go home. We stayed 6 days and loved every minute of it. The place is well equipped with all the kitchen supplies if you want to relax and cook a home made meal. And the place is toward the outer part of the city, so the foot traffic is not that loud. I will defiantly stay here again!!

What an amazing place! We would recommend freddie's plane to anyone visiting Puerto Rico and old San Juan. It was the best location and the apartment had everything that we needed for our stay. We even bought local food and cooked in our kitchen. This saved us from having to eat out for every meal of the day. Freddie and his family were so accommodating. They did everything to make our stay comfortable. If I ever go back to San Juan I will definitely stay with Friday.

My wife and I just got back from Puerto Rico.Perfect weather as usually..This is the third year staying at Freddy's rental.It always get better..He upgraded alot this time..New bedding,ceiling fans and new appliances in kitchen..Freddy and his family are the perfect host..It seems like our home away.Several people in the neighborhood and restaraunts remembered us and told us welcome home..We will go back and highly recommend Freddy's place.. gracias a su cálido y familiar tony,lisa and ron

What a great experience! I travel frequently and have seen the good and the bad when it comes to vacation rentals. Freddys historic Old San Juan apartment ranks at the top for me. First- the pictures do not do justice to the listing. The apartment is very large and comfortable. With 20 foot ceilings and a breeze that flows through the apartment, there was never an issue with the temperature. A full kitchen was very handy as I was traveling my wife and two sons 4 and 7. We kept the fridge stocked and made use of the stove. All dishes and towels and linens were provided. The location is very safe. Ive been to San juan a few times and would highly recommend this location as it is easy to walk to all the sites. We rented a car during some of our 10 day stay and never had issue finding parking. Freddy and his family live above but we never heard a thing as the house is made of stone and is in itself a historic landmark. Here is some really good information: this apartment sits between the two main forts, it is very close 1-5 min walking to great restaurants, laundy . Taxis and bus terminal 8min walking at the most. My wife and kids walked Old san Juan at any hour of the eve and had no issues. Wifi worked great. There is a resident Coquis frog living somewhere in the open patio area that kept my boys enchanted in trying to find him. The bed was excellent. My boys slept on the fold out couch in the sitting area. The front living room has full cable and two couches. Plenty of room for the four of us. It is hard to tell from the pics but the apartment goes back a long ways to it was easy for us to all have our our areas in the evenings to relax. 5 times the size of a hotel room. As to rental cars, the street Calle Sol is very very easy to access. I had no issue driving to Arecibo 1.5 hours to see the Cueva Ventana or to El Yunque 1.2 hours all interstate driving. Parking is on the street. If you need to though there are 2 garages 8-10min walk away. Also of note: Walgreens, Burger King and Super Max (grocery store) all within 10 min walk though beautiful streets. I was looking for reasons to go to the store just for the walk there. Bring a spare shopping bag with you as I used it to carry our fresh bread and groceries back to the apartment every few days. If you want 5 star resort pass. If you want to have a really nice affordable place- stay here. So in conclusion couples and familys alike looking for a true San Juanero experience will love this place! Thank you

Great location to Old San Juan areas of El Morro, San Cristobal, shops, resturants, and the Pier areas. Fredy was excellent with directions and help in the local neighborhood. This apartment gave you a real sense of neighbors and the flavor of Old San Juan. Many spots were within walking distance. Food Music Festival during our stay was an added bonus.

We are so glad we found this apartment! Everything in Old San Juan is walking distance, but if you get tired by the end of the day, the free trolley has a stop only two blocks from this rental. The owner Fredy is better than any hotel concierge. He checked on taxi prices for us, helped us find museums and sights, recommended restaurants nearby and was always just a phone call or text away if we needed anything. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Puerto Rico.

Our Janurary visit to San Jaun was a total success.We stayed in a roomy,airy,very comfortable apartment.Relaxing and having breakfast on the open air patio was wonderful.We were close to the ocean centered between the two forts (El Morro and San Cristobal).The weather was wonderful (low 80's and sunny).We felt safe and comfortable strolling all of the streets of Old Town,day or night.We will return to relax and enjoy the winter weather.

We 3 adults stayed 3 nights in this apartment and found it to be roomy, comfortable, attractive in an Old San Juan way, and well worth the moderate price. If you are looking for very modern appliances and all the comforts of home, you will probably be disappointed and sorry that you did not stay at a resort. However, if you want to live more like the Old San Juan locals, you'll be very satisfied. My 22 year old daughter especially loved it and would return in a heartbeat, especially since it is located about a block from the water and close to the fort. Actually, any of us would return to this apartment and location in a heartbeat. We were warmly greeted by our host, and he was always willing to greet and help us. We were also greeted every day by the neighborhood cats, all which were friendly and affectionate (after just a few moments of caution). Actually, we were pleasantly surprised by all the cats and pigeons in Old San Juan, and they had no real fear of people. The apartment was only about a 10 minute walk from the more modern Pier area, where the cruise ships land. This is a real convenience if you drive a car (we had a rental so that we could tour the whole island) because parking garages are nearby. However, we managed to find a parking space near our apartment each night, which probably saved us $50 or more. However, streets are very narrow, so finding a parking place can take some searching. But, we always succeeded without any real stress. Again, Old San Juan is a real treat for spending a few days or more, and Fredy's apartment was a perfect location for us. Although it is situated near one end of Old San Juan, have no fear. Old San Juan is very "walkable" from end-to-end. Which reminds me. We had no idea that Puerto Rico was so hilly and mountainous. So, if you plan on walking around Old San Juan, be ready to walk down and up some steep streets (maybe 100 - 200 yards long?). But it can be enjoyable because of the bluish cobble stone pavement. Finally, my daughter found one more apartment feature very appealing----she could smoke if she chose to. And Fredy's apartment has plenty area for smoke to quickly disappear through and not bother anybody. It also has a nice television to smoke and drink beer by-----if that is what you like (and which we took advantage of).

We will stay here every time we come back. Such a great living space and so convenient to get anywhere in Old San Juan. Thanks again to Freddy and his super cute mom. We loved seeing her every day out on her stoop chatting with all the neighbors. We felt right at home.
